I DON'T WANNA WEAR A SWEATER & FREESTYLE LINK-UP

Humidity is a curse word in my book. Not a fan, so not hair and body friendly. I didn’t want to wear this green ruffled turtleneck sweater but knowing Fall is coming and I’ll be dressing like this in a few weeks, I needed to get some shots while I still have a college photographer around.

I thought I liked this and I love the Kut from the Kloth Jeans but truth be told...it went back. I liked it, the color was great, the ballooon sleeves, super cute, the ruffled neck, a fun feature but I just wasn’t ready for a new turtleneck sweater in my closet. Now, the jeans on the other hand are keepers and I’m finding those Toms peep toe booties to be a favorite pair of boots by far again this year.

A little leopard and my Kendra Scott favorite necklace tied it all together, Then, sweating my butt off, I ran inside, threw off these heat inducing duds and jumped in the pool. Well, I put my bathing suit on first of course, lol!

One boy moved in yesterday, one more to go and I'm tired and sad already.
Let's make this one heck of a great middle of the week Wednesday!

  2. Beautiful shade of green on you my friend! the humidity is horrible here all the time and it will be months before it lets up. This is a tough week for us with our boys headed back to school for sure. Thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs and good wishes!!!

  8. Yay for pics from your college photographer, even if you endured the heat for them! Such a gorgeous color on you, but sad to hear it went back. The pop of leopard is of course my favorite <3

  9. Again, you look good in green. I am not a fan of green on myself. Purple or green are two colors I shy away from. Being Toms booties, I know they have to me comfortable! I am in a limbo right now between peep toes and covered toed booties. Decisions Descisions.

  12. haha - so laughed at the sweater coming off & going back to the bathing suit. You'll have plenty of days ahead for the sweaters - enjoy that pool while you can.
& hugs for your mommas heart as your boys are getting back to routine & school

  13. I used to think the peep toe booties were silly, but now I realize they are the perfect transitional boot!!

  14. That's a super cute fall look! Love the jeans and the booties and the pop of leopard. And that shade of green is a great color on you, but I can understand not being in the mood for a sweater in the middle of summer. I saw an amazing striped fall/winter sweater while shopping in Germany, heavily reduced, but it was soooo hot and humid that I couldn't bring myself to try it on. Now I wish I did...

Hope you are having a great week!

  15. I love that you put your kids to work helping out with blog content. :) That sweater is a gorgeous shade of green. Sorry to hear it didn't end up making the final cut, but I know how that goes with trying to keep the closet contents to a reasonable level!

  16. You do look very pretty in that color though. I do understand that when it's still hot, it's just too hard to think of claustrophobic sweaters. I'm with you.

  17. I have three pair of those TOMS booties. Watch Dillards' sales. They will put them on sale and then an additional 40% off. You have to pounce but I don't think I've ever paid more than $35. They are so comfortable and almost a year round shoe here in Texas.

  20. Humidity is the worst!! If it wasn't for that summer would be a beautiful thing. I can't believe fall is right around the corner. This is such a cute look on you and I love the color of this sweater. I agree though, if you aren't feeling it then take it back. I've gotten better at doing that. Those booties are so cute and I need to get a pair like them! Sierra Beautifully Candid

  22. I am looking forward to sweater weather! The humidity is killing me and I am ready for that first cool front. I love that green color on you and the pop of leopard is always awesome! Sorry your boys are leaving, not looking forward to those days for all my borrowed kiddos!

  23. I'm actually really looking forward to fall! We've had SUCH a hot summer here, and though fall and winter are rainy season, I'm ready for some longer sleeves and maternity-friendly options haha but you look lovely as always, and that color is stunning on you, Andrea!

  25. Let's start a petition to postpone back to school. We're not ready! The color of that sweater is beautiful, but the turtleneck is a bit much! Show off that neckline and collar bone!

  26. I got that sweater in gray and while I really liked it, too, it went back. I just didn't LOVE it as much as I felt I should. I hope the first move in went smoothly and the second ones does as well. I am sure you will be counting down the days until the next visit!

  27. Too bad it didn't work out. I like the color a lot. I don't like turtlenecks though, they irritate my neck!

  28. It has been so hot here lately (totally fine with it since its summer!) that the last thing that I can/want to think about is wearing a sweater haha. That one is super cute though! Sorry that you returned it but I understand why. Those jeans look fab on you too! I really like KUT jeans but unfortunately they don't fit me well at all. :-/ Oh and love that clutch!! Have a lovely day!!! :-)

  29. Great colour on you, but I can see the jumper rather than you Andrea - and you're a beaut' so that's a shame xx Maria

  30. I ordered that sweater at 8:30am on the first day of the presale and it got cancelled! :( I think it looks awesome on you but I get it. I was worried curious to see how it would look in person too

  31. Ugh humidity! It will be a long time before any of my sweaters see the light of day. I love that color, but I hate turtle necks on me. I just cant do them. I don't really like anything on my neck which is why scarves usually dont happen for me either. The jeans sound fabulous, and I love those booties! Gotta get those last photo shoots in with your boy!

  32. I wanted that sweater so bad during the sale but they never had the color I wanted in my size. I was so bummed! It looks darling on you!

  33. You know those boys will be back soon for your delicious desserts! Green looks great on you - even in the heat! :)

  34. I love the quote at the end about your sweater body...LOL. You look so pretty in green. I never wear green, but maybe I should try it. I'll be totally honest, I'm not really a fan of the balloon sleeves. They add so much bulk and I sure as heck don't need help with that. HA! I'm resisting fall as long as I possibly can. Say it with me...SUMMER, SUMMER, SUMMER. Happy Wednesday! XOXO

  35. Yes, as most have said, that green is awesome on you but hey, if you aren't feeling it, then you should definitely not get it. After all, it is you who would have to wear it, not us. Everybody is moving kids back to college around here and some for the first time and so a few tears have been shed. Glad all that is behind me. :o)) Happy mid-week!

  36. Boy did that summer fly by for your sons being home?!! I'll be sad soon too. You are looking lovely and not a bit sweaty in that cool as a cucumber green sweater! I understand about taking it back if you weren't ready for it. Those jeans and booties are the bomb!! Happy Wednesday!

  37. This color green is amazing on you! I hear you about the weather! It's really hot here too, although not humid, and I won't be wearing sweaters for a while!

  40. I bought a sweater too that had balloon sleeves but returned too because it was just way oversized. I really wanted to keep it because it had bright stripes and you know how much we all love stripes! I love this color of green. It looks goods on you and I like how you styled it! The brown accessories truly compliments each piece!

  48. I love how the turtle neck has a ruffle on the top of the neck, very cute and different. I don't normally wear turtlenecks... I feel like I just get too hot in them, but we prob keep the heat on too high in our home in the winter. That color is so pretty! And, I LOVE the Tom's peep toe booties.

  55. That color is stunning, but it looks a little large for you, so probably good it went back. I can't wear sweaters like this anymore, I'm always running too warm. LOVE those jeans and those booties.

A gorgeous jumper and in the perfect shade of green - green is def your colour! I have the same colouring (blonde, dark eyes) and love green too. BTW I am not slued up on fashion really and just realised how to wear booties with skinnyish jeans - you turn the bottoms up. I've been trying on booties and they make my feet look massive against the skinny leg - so thanks for sharing that pic!! :))
