THE HAT AT IT'S BEST!!

Oh friends, do you ever get an Accessory and say “Hey, I Really Love This!” That’s what happened when I got this Straw Hat! I had zero intentions of buying any hats this summer until I saw this cutie on Amazon Prime Day! Such a great seal and find!

Not only did it come packaged so well, but it’s almost nicer quality than one I saw for over $100. AND it’s going to take me right into Fall.

Here I paired it with a traditional type outfit you’d see with hats in my jeans and heels and my beloved-colored Denim Jacket from Liverpool.

Here I opted for super casual. Jean shorts, and the most darling
Washed Tiered Popover from Stein Mart. I just love the soft mint green and lil bit of Lace. I’m barefoot and completely forgot to get full shots, lol

You’ll have to check out my Instagram today to see what BIG influencer’s look I re-created with this outfit!

20 SUMMER OUTFITS...RE-STYLES WITH FRIENDS

I am so excited to collaborate with my fabulous Midwest girls again and I love that we showing you our restyles for each season of the year. So incredibly excited that between the five of us, we have 20 summer styles for you!

I love getting inspiration from like minded women and even better when they’re real life pals! Hoping to see them in the next month or two. Most of the ladies interpret the styles in their own way but as you know from past posts, I am a lover of re-creating Pinterest outfits almost identical, so I love doing that with my gal pals too!

In alphabetical order here we go!

First up, it’s a precious Caroline from The Petite Fashionista! Doesn’t she look adorable? It was a given that I would re-style something Caroline wore in pink as it is her signature color and my favorite! The sweet little Cami looks so good paired with the flowing neutral pants and braided sandals! I had everything in my closet to re-create this look and it was perfect timing as I had just bought the hot pink cami from Amazon and my Beachy Pants are some of my favorites!

Next up is my dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink! I have been eyeing Jill’s multicolor pleated skirt for several months and this restyle prompted me to pull the trigger on a navy and green one from J.Crew! I have loved navy and green together since high school and thought it looked so cute with my Ciao T-shirt. Jill put adorable white sandal slides with the skirt but I knew I had to pair it with my Adidas Stan Smith sneakers  for a little more pop of gorgeous kelly green. You can’t go wrong with these adorable pleated skirts. Jill looks just darling and so sporty sweet!

The minute I saw Kathrine from Kathrine Eldridge Blog style this chic black sleeveless top with buttons outfit, I knew I had to have that top. I was planning on re-creating the Fab look even before I knew we were doing our re-styles. It’s so hip and chic and can take us straight in the fall. Kathrine looks divine and her smile lights up the world!

Next up is my polkadot princess, Laura from I do deClaire! Again Kelly green because it just pops! I fell in love with this little top on her and I think it looks so good the way she styled it with white jeans. The Cognac color with the bag and shoes really add some sweetness. I threw in a little leopard too of course with the belt and bracelet cuff. Laura is a doll and so are her girlies!!

FRIDAY FAVORITES…ON THE ROAD AGAIN

How wonderful to be able to travel again. We still haven’t flown anywhere, nor do we have anything on the books, but you can bet you are all in for road trips! My mom and I did the recent overnight and then we’ll be on the road soon for an annual family vacation. Love love love road trip shenanigans and new adventures! Let's do this... LOTS of the fun Favs!!

1. Trip with Mom

My mom and I had the best time on our trip to southern Indiana so I’m breaking it down with day one and day two as it was such a Favorite, LOL! The only thing that wasn’t a favorite and I really should’ve got pictures with how much it was tore up was the road construction, we had to detour four times and the signage was not good, thank goodness for GPS and a nice man at a gas station in a fluorescent vest, LOL!

My parents are both from the southern part of the state and it is so much prettier down there than the northern, LOL. We started off with lunch at my Dad’s out in the country.

Then it was off to the resort. I have been there once before, but I forget how amazing the West Baden springs resort dome is. Such a great story behind it that you can read HERE. We had a room on the highest level of the resort with a beautiful balcony overlooking the dome interior Just gorgeous. I feel like a princess when you’re standing up there.

We walked the beautiful grounds...

....had a cocktail in the atrium.

Then we went back and got ready for dinner at a steakhouse called 1875. Yes, I don’t have a picture of a super yummy filet mignon, sautéed mushrooms and brussels sprouts with bacon! And just look how beautiful mom looked for dinner.

Of course, we had to go into the atrium at night and see the lights, normally they change colors but unfortunately, they were working on it so we only had two colors, LOL

2. More Trip with Mom

This day, it was up and early, they had a Starbucks in the resort so of course I got that, and they had amazing homemade truffles that were so darn cute so that along with a banana with my breakfast, ha ha! Mom even spied me taking a selfie from the six-floor balcony which was so hilarious as I was the only one in the huge atrium.

Went back up and grabbed mom for an hour walk to the sister resort where we would spend the rest of the day after we checked out. Food some animals along the way, lol

Then, it was time to check out and get our wristbands to head to the sister resort which is truly beautiful as well. But first we stopped in town and had lunch at Larry Bird's restaurant, Brick 33; such a yummy tenderloin sandwich, onion rings and orange cream cocktail

We walked those grounds, shopped at the promenade shops and a most beautiful discovery was the fountains of Pluto water. Pluto water is known to have wonderful digestive and healing properties! So of course, I stuck my foot in it. Look how cute mom is in her sweet boutique hat. Then we went in the casino, fortunately only lost under $30 but we were disappointed. Why all the high finagled machines, just give us some great quarter slots!

Next up is what we’ve been waiting to do all day and that was ice cream on the sprawling front porch of the resort! The white rockers and American flags are just glorious. Mom had dulce de leche, and I had the butter pecan and it was delightful to get a sweet little rock in before our trip home. Love these precious getaways with my mama and so fortunate to get to do them!

4. Stein Mart Wrap Top
Have you ever been to a Stein Mart? We have one about an hour and 15 minutes away and I always enjoy going up there. I have never thought to shop them online but I’m so glad I did. I got four pieces from them, and this floral Wrap Blouse is one of them! Just check out how cute the back is! They have such a variety of cuteness on their website!

POST OF THE WEEK

NATURE

Before all the storms came in last week, I snapped one of my pots that contains three varieties of Verbena. They were getting so pretty, hopefully they’ll come out of it, darn summer storms!

But sometimes the rain and storms do bring beautiful rainbows. Mr. Nine and I caught this one on our way home from a little day date last Saturday.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKES
Made Strawberry Shortcake‘s for Father’s Day. The cream in the middle of strawberry shortcake biscuits is from my Strawberry Crunch Parfait Recipe. Just use Bisquick to make the biscuits and added fresh farm stand strawberries and a tiny bit of ready whip on top.

GORGEOUS GINGHAM DRESSES

I think it’s safe to say you all know how much I love GINGHAM! It is one of the essential summer prints in my eyes! These three dresses were those that the minute I saw them, I knew I had to have them. None of them disappointed, and they are all under $39

“Check” this one out! While it could double as a picnic tablecloth, I decided to wear it with my picnic basket, LOL! No, to be honest with you, red and white gingham is probably one of my favorites! This One is so comfortable, from one of my favorite online boutiques, The Mint Julep Boutique and I love the way it’s made at the sleeves. I was hoping my new white lace up espadrilles would come in time, but these red ones ended up being just perfect with it!

Well, Will you look at this number! Ties on the shoulders smocking, tiers, lined and most importantly PINK! I knew this one was going with me on mine and my mom‘s little getaway last week! It did not disappoint. SheIn clothing can be a huge disappointment, but This Dress is in that top 20% that is such a win, so high-quality for such a great price!

I showed you this little Gingham Cutie on one of my Amazon Posts! It is a must have for Summer and it also turned out perfectly! It comes in several colors, but I just love this sweet blue! The Round Rattan Bag looks really cute with it.

There you have it, gingham for the win! Do you like gingham? I know some people like it on others I don’t like it on themselves. I just think it’s so summer sweet!
