How wonderful to be able to travel again. We still haven’t flown anywhere, nor do we have anything on the books, but you can bet you are all in for road trips! My mom and I did the recent overnight and then we’ll be on the road soon for an annual family vacation. Love love love road trip shenanigans and new adventures! Let's do this... LOTS of the fun Favs!!
My mom and I had the best time on our trip to southern Indiana so I’m breaking it down with day one and day two as it was such a Favorite, LOL! The only thing that wasn’t a favorite and I really should’ve got pictures with how much it was tore up was the road construction, we had to detour four times and the signage was not good, thank goodness for GPS and a nice man at a gas station in a fluorescent vest, LOL!
My parents are both from the southern part of the state and it is so much prettier down there than the northern, LOL. We started off with lunch at my Dad’s out in the country.
Then it was off to the resort. I have been there once before, but I forget how amazing the West Baden springs resort dome is. Such a great story behind it that you can read HERE. We had a room on the highest level of the resort with a beautiful balcony overlooking the dome interior Just gorgeous. I feel like a princess when you’re standing up there.
We walked the beautiful grounds...
....had a cocktail in the atrium.
Then we went back and got ready for dinner at a steakhouse called 1875. Yes, I don’t have a picture of a super yummy filet mignon, sautéed mushrooms and brussels sprouts with bacon! And just look how beautiful mom looked for dinner.
This day, it was up and early, they had a Starbucks in the resort so of course I got that, and they had amazing homemade truffles that were so darn cute so that along with a banana with my breakfast, ha ha! Mom even spied me taking a selfie from the six-floor balcony which was so hilarious as I was the only one in the huge atrium.
Went back up and grabbed mom for an hour walk to the sister resort where we would spend the rest of the day after we checked out. Food some animals along the way, lol
Next up is what we’ve been waiting to do all day and that was ice cream on the sprawling front porch of the resort! The white rockers and American flags are just glorious. Mom had dulce de leche, and I had the butter pecan and it was delightful to get a sweet little rock in before our trip home. Love these precious getaways with my mama and so fortunate to get to do them!
Before all the storms came in last week, I snapped one of my pots that contains three varieties of Verbena. They were getting so pretty, hopefully they’ll come out of it, darn summer storms!
But sometimes the rain and storms do bring beautiful rainbows. Mr. Nine and I caught this one on our way home from a little day date last Saturday.
