FRIDAY FAVORITES VALENTINE'S DAY EDITION

Happy Valentine’s Day my beautiful loves! I just love it when Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday! Do you have plans? In? Or out? We are staying in and of course I am making my traditional heart shaped meatloaf and just a tinge of pink mashed potatoes, lol! We had some snow this week and more to come...YAY! I hope you have the sweetest day and the sweetest weekend!

Dinosaur Museum
What fun we had at the dinosaur museum! We had brunch with the kids last weekend and their mama found the coolest dinosaur museum right in our neck of the woods attached to a chocolate factory. How cute is this picture, we matched!

Valentine's Gifts for Toddlers

I love to give sweet gifts of love all year, but putting together valentine boxes is so fun. These are the ones for the twins this year. Pink and purple for two precious princesses. They are all geared towards the toddler age, they’re 16 1/2 months old. The collapsible boxes can be used to put in cubbies for toy storage.

Blast From Last

On Valentine’s Day, I had to share a fun time with my love, Mr. Nine! My forever, Valentine. Last July we went to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert! We thought we would be the oldest there but believe it or not most people were our age and older, lol. We had a ball, And I loved the outfit I wore. There’s those Red Boots again! Just love them.

This Weekend!!!!!

Speaking of concerts, Oh my gosh, so incredibly excited about this weekend! We are going on a triple date tomorrow night first to dinner and then to a concert! But not just any concert, we have VIP tickets to meet another one of my loves, Brett Young! Y’all may remember in 2017 when I met him briefly and Mr. Nine got the blurry picture.

Read those posts from a trip to Vegas HERE and HERE. Anyway, I’ve already told Mr. Nine: make sure you hold the camera steady getting a picture with my hall pass, lol!

STAY SAFE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE on ONE ANOTHER
AND HAPPY WEEKEND!

WHAT I EAT IN A DAY

I know these posts may be silly to some, a “I don’t really care what you eat,” lol. I, however, love them. Not only do posts like this offer food inspiration, new recipes and snack ideas, I feel like they can keep myself and you readers accountable. It might make you look at “hey what am I putting in my body” on a daily basis? Or maybe just a “YUM!” Ha ha!

I will also give you the calorie and protein breakdown. I’m trying very hard to be in a little bit of a calorie deficit so I can get off the 5-7 pounds I gained over the holidays. I’m getting close.

Soon, I will be compiling another one of my healthy recipes round up posts and include some of these that I created. Like the one I did HERE.

Breakfast

I am now obsessed with the protein bowls I’m creating. And with making a batch ahead of time, I have 3-4 bowls ready for the week. I had Mr. Nine so intrigued that I created a peanut butter flavor for him, and he is in love! I always have at least a cup of berries total a day and in the a.m. I do have a cup of coffee with Stevia and 1 tsp. Chobani Coffee Creamer.

Total Breakfast Calories 282 and 26g protein

I will add that I do still loosely intermittent fast. I normally only eat between the hours of 10:30-6:30. There may be done days I grab breakfast earlier, but I stick to it in most days. I also don’t intermittent fast on vacations or special occasions.

Lunch

How I have been loving making my own Turkey sausage. Recipe

2 eggs, 2 small turkey sausage patties, a mini avocado and some strawberries and I’m good to go. I LOVE breakfast foods at all times of the day.

Total Lunch Calories 465 & 42g protein

Or should I say teatime, lol. I have a cup of tea every afternoon and I always need a little something sweet with it. This is usually when I have my one date a day with a little bit of almond butter. You may recall my Post on How I Lowered My Cholesterol with dates. Sometimes, I will throw in some fruit and this time of year, I am loving the sumo oranges, but I just have a half. And I also just have a half of a Barebell Protein Bar

They are my all-time favorite protein bars.

Total Snack Calories 290 & 12g protein

 Dinner

This Asian Chicken Salad is a flavorful delight that hits the spot. I used the ground chicken, slaw and dressing to make Asian Chicken tacos for Mr. Nine and I had the salad. So yummy. The ground chicken I use for this is a Recipe I’ve shared on the blog before way back my first year of blogging.

Total Dinner Calories 350 & 30g protein

My Target Calories is 1350-1450 and

118 grams of protein.

The way you calculate how much protein your body needs is:

Your Weight divided by 2.2 x's 2=

If you're not as active, do it time s 1.2-1.8

I’d say I did pretty good this day with a

Total of 1387 Calories and 112 grams of protein.

What do you eat in a day?

FRIDAY FAVORITES FEBRUARY FUN

Hi February Friday! We made it! Heading out boutique shopping with mama, brunch with family tomorrow and Super Bowl Sunday! But I’m not that excited about the game this year. Hopefully the commercials are good and TBH I don’t remember who the halftime entertainment is, (shrug shoulders) lol! I DO remember that I love Fridays, Favorites and YOU! Oh, and my tooth is better, yay!

 Tea with The Twins

Of course, my ultimate favorite of the week involves the twins! All my life I’ve dreamt of a tea party with granddaughters. You may remember me talking about this on the blog that my mom got me a tea set years ago and told me this is to have tea parties with my granddaughters hopefully someday and it all came true. I wasn’t sure they were ready for it but boy, did we have a good time. Bear Bear joined us. And I had Mr. Nine jealous that he had to work and wasn’t there for it.

Grammy got them these Pink Floral Outfits
LOVE the Cat & Jack brand at Target.
So cute and affordable.

 Water Fountain Candle
Last summer when my mom and I were up in Saugatuck, Michigan, she bought the coolest water fountain candle, with a beautiful light and calming sound in a cute little boutique. I was admiring it over the holidays, and she surprised me the other day with one of my very own, including the beautiful champagne color on it, which I love. So sweet of her! LOVE hearing it trickle when I am reading. Can't find online but AMAZON does have them, they are just currently unavailable.

 Sourdough Bread
Mr. Nine brought home the prettiest loaf of sourdough bread on Tuesday! My dear friend Lacey, who is the wife of a coworker of his has been cultivating and creating beautiful sourdough bread! It was just as delicious as it looks! All our sons gals have been on the sourdough train, and we got them cool sourdough starter kits but I have yet to make any, I’m starting to get the itch! Do you make sourdough?

Outfits
My favorite of these outfits is the one with the blazer simply because it is one of the best blazers I found! It’s From the Scoop Line at Walmart. The sleeves are a little bit shorter with ruching and buttons, and the color is darling!
Blazer HERE // Jeans HERE // Tank HERE // Pave Heart Necklace HERE

Sweatshirt HERE // Pants HERE //  Sneakers HERE // Bag HERE // Hat HERE

 Mocha Mousse
The reason why I mentioned the blazer is because when you look at it, it’s could be considered a brown hue part of the mocha mousse family! If you don’t know, Mocha Mousse is the Pantone color for 2025 and it is lovely! Literally the color of Swiss Miss Cocoa powder, ha ha. The Blonde Squad and I are planning a very special blog collaboration next month that involves this lovely color!

Amazon
Did you see the Amazon Prime link up Post on Monday? We didn’t have a lot join us yet, but I had many messages saying that because they didn’t buy much in January they’d be joining us in the months to come. But I realize I also forgot to add my new Exercise Ball under $10 and 5 Star Book!

 Blast from Last

Since we are talking a major sporting event this weekend with the Super Bowl, I thought I would talk about a fun baseball game. After the kids got married and moved from Baltimore last summer, we went to visit them in Cleveland and went to a Guardians baseball game! We had a “Ball.”

Happy Weekend Babes!
Will you watch the Super Bowl?

AMAZON PRIME PURCHASES

Welcome Friends! Welcome to a new era in the monthly Amazon Prime Link Up originated by our dear friend, Tanya from The Other Side of the Road. Jill from Doused in Pink and I are happy to be hosting, and we hope you’ll join us whether as a participant or a reader garnering great Amazon ideas!

For me, not only am I including what I bought this past month from Amazon, but I’m also including some great gift ideas and all things hearts. I purchased several of these either for myself and/or gifts and they’re perfect!

This Walking Pad is one of my number one favorite purchases ever! I’ve had it now about three weeks and it’s amazing! There’s nothing that replaces outside walking but when the polar vortex hit hard in January, I knew I had to have something. I had sold a manual treadmill years ago and Mr. Nine and I had just never got one, although we keep talking about a peloton. With the price of this one you just cannot beat it, plus it’s portable and I truly can’t find any cons with it.

Meat Chopper

I melted the handle on my old one. It was time for a new one. Truly one of the greatest inventions to chop up ground meat. Use it at least a couple times a week. This

Is a GREAT ONE.

Headbands

One of the girls requested this set of Headbands on her Christmas list. With such an amazing price for a 2 pack, I decided to get them for all the girls. They shared the black ones with the boys, and it made for a cute group photo on Christmas Day.

Belt

A dupe of dupes. It literally identical to the one from Madewell and a 1/4th of the cost. Very high quality Belt

Produce Containers

Holy moly do these babies keep veggies and fruit fresher for longer. Truly one of my favorite kitchen storage purchases. These Produce Containers come with 4 sizes and they stack inside each other when not using them.

Low Carb Hot Chocolate

I was indulging in hot chocolate over the holidays more than once a week. When January hit and sugar when bye bye in my diet, I still craved it on cold, snowy days. This keto friendly version is only 45 calories and blank net carbs.

Cetaphil Make Up Remover

I should call this Eye Make-up Remover as I only use it on my eyes. I use the Cleanser for me face. I just put a little on a cotton pad and gone so gently! Pixi stopped making my favorite remover pads, but this is the BEST replacement.

Wall Sconces

My mama got these Battery Operated Wall Sconces and were both loving them. So much so that I think Mr. Nine and I will get a set. They come with a remote control, can be set on a timer and have 3 light modes. So elegant and modern. Here are my mom’s that she put on either side of a mirror.

Hearts, Hearts, Give me all the Hearts
and for him, Check out this Jerky Heart Box!

Thank you for linking up your Amazon Purchases with us.

We’d love it if you’d follow both of us on LTK (LikeToKnowIt) where we share more Amazon fashion, beauty and decor.

FRIDAY FAVORITES HASTA LA VISTA JANUARY

What? Are you kidding me? The longest day of the year is finally over, I mean month, I mean, January, lol! You did it friends! But I’d be lying if I said I don’t want snow in February, just give us a couple blasts, lol!

Not a favorite this week with some tooth pain I had, the dentist was able to fit me in on Wednesday and I was scared to death that there was going to be infection and a root canal and crown needed. I actually was one of those cases that baffled him because he was a little bit unsure what was going on and doesn’t want to do any kind of work until we have a definitive diagnosis, so I have a mouthwash I’m using and we’re going to look at the tooth again in two weeks. I’m hoping for the best. Let’s get to some Friday favorites, friends!

Shopping with the Babes

Shopping at Home Goods with these two, their mama and my mom and then all having lunch together at Panera to celebrate their mommy’s birthday was definitely a favorite!

Massage

Last year I had so much stress and so many neck problems that a friend of mine suggested the massage therapist where she works. Luckily for me, she also does massage out of her home and will come to yours. I’m now on her books monthly and she has done wonders, this coming from a girl who never used to get massages, lol. I went to her house Tuesday, and I was so relaxed all day!

Obviously After, LOL

Outfits

Free Assembly Spring Cuteness

I showed you a Collage last week with some of the cutest pieces from the Free assembly line at Walmart. Luckily, this week several of the line’s pieces arrived at my house, and I am here to tell you the quality is spectacular! Just look how cute. I think my favorite might be that. Let me know your favorite.

Stella Mae

This girl! Mr. Nine’s girl! And mine. Celebrating three years next week of her gotcha day. She is the best dog that either one of us have had. She is 8 pounds of pure love and devotion! She is truly happiest when she is either outside with us, going for a car ride, getting a pup cup with her “Giga,” hanging with her boyfriend Tater, or lounging on our laps. A true lap dog with so much love! She sleeps curled right up next to me, and we truly do not know what we would do without her. Not kidding when I say we’ve seriously investigating cloning her DNA, lol!

Her Boyfriend Tater

Blast from Last

My Galentine’s. A set of ladies I also don’t know what I would do without. We try to get together quarterly, and this was one of several visits last year. In April, we did a favorite things party in Chicago and had an absolute blast. Lots of cocktail time too.

TRAVELING TO AUSTIN TEXAS

Who remembers the song Austin by Blake Shelton? I literally was singing the lyrics, “He figured she'd gone back to Austin

'Cause she talked about it all the time,” for a couple weeks before we were headed there.

You may remember when I talked about our Trip to Waco a couple weeks ago for the first half of that trip was spent in Austin. I have been there once before but again it was someplace that Mr. Nine had not been and he was excited to go.

We opted to stay at the Hotel Za Za in Downtown Austin because Mr. Nine has stayed at one in Dallas and just loved the modern vibes. It was one of the top rated and I must say it was very lovely. Unfortunately, the weather means too yucky to go swimming, but the breakfast, pool area and bathroom was gorgeous.

We LOVED the complimentary car service...how cool is that front?

Literally the ONLY PIC of the two of us together in Austin.

I had a list of places that I definitely wanted to go and I probably could write an entire post about this first one. The Taquero Mucho is just a cute little restaurant, but what makes it so magnificent is the decor and all the pink! The drinks are so creative and unique, and the pink waffles were out of this world!

Skirt HERE// Tee HERE // Jacket HERE // Earrings HERE

They even had a pink bone booth and a Barbie box so I was in heaven!

Basically, we just decided to not only check out the South Congress area, but just walk around the city and see what we could find. A couple of our favorite stops were the original yeti store, the Tecovas shop, an ice cream shop and one of the most magnificent landscapes at a hotel that was along the river walk.

Wow..the Lawn at the Four Seasons was amazing!

Lots of murals to be found too.

That night we really did have a blast. We went to dinner at Anthem and sat in the cutest green velvet booth.

Then hit several bars with live entertainment. Rainey Street was my favorite area. With its colorful and bustling array of bars, restaurants, food trucks and entertainment venues, it's a sure bet for experiencing local characters and the vibrancy of the city. It's quieter then 6th street but so much more charming. The 90’s rock band we listened to, Star Seed from San Antonio was amazing. Well, we were probably some of the oldest people there, but of course, we fit ourselves right in and sing along to many of the songs!

I’ll talk more about this in a minute, but I wish I would’ve gotten more pictures because I absolutely loved the jumpsuit I was wearing and got several compliments on it, lol. Here's the very top half in my only trip selfie.

The next day was Easter, so we dressed up. I absolutely loved my lavender dress and brunch at Stella San Jac was just as wonderful as all the reviews said it would be. I had the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had.

Dress HERE // Shoes HERE // Earrings HERE

Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of Mr. Nine and I, which was extra unfortunate because we matched and didn’t even plan to on Easter Since I was not blogging at the time or being in a very good state of mind, I just wasn’t really in the picture taking mood. But I know some of you may consider going to Austin so I thought it would still make for a good post.

We really did love the Riverwalk and logged more than 20,000 steps each day. Sunday night we just got casual for dinner.

Sweater HERE // Pants HERE

Dinner that night was Moonshine Bar & Grill. I'd rate it a 6/10 but the Apple Dumpling Dessert....a "9!"

As with Waco, I must say Austin didn’t quite live up to the expectation Mr. Nine had in his mind. It’s probably another place that we won’t go back to and we’re really scratching our heads at why so many people find it a desirable place to move to? BUT no worries, every other trip we took in 2024 was fabulous and I'll share more of those soon. Plus despite saying we weren't going to travel as much in 2025, the travel bug hit this weekend and we've got a few great trips planned.

Have you been to Austin?

Happy Fresh, New Week my Friends...

the last of January!
