RE-CREATING A GREETING CARD & SPORTY GIRLS

When sweet Shauna from Lipgloss and Lace sent me this card, she said I should re-create it and immediately I knew I had to bring it to life!

Showing you how the darling look came right off the cover and out of my closet. Such cute pieces.

THE HAT AT IT'S BEST!!

Oh friends, do you ever get an Accessory and say “Hey, I Really Love This!” That’s what happened when I got this Straw Hat! I had zero intentions of buying any hats this summer until I saw this cutie on Amazon Prime Day! Such a great seal and find!

Not only did it come packaged so well, but it’s almost nicer quality than one I saw for over $100. AND it’s going to take me right into Fall.

Here I paired it with a traditional type outfit you’d see with hats in my jeans and heels and my beloved-colored Denim Jacket from Liverpool.

Here I opted for super casual. Jean shorts, and the most darling
Washed Tiered Popover from Stein Mart. I just love the soft mint green and lil bit of Lace. I’m barefoot and completely forgot to get full shots, lol

You’ll have to check out my Instagram today to see what BIG influencer’s look I re-created with this outfit!

20 SUMMER OUTFITS...RE-STYLES WITH FRIENDS

I am so excited to collaborate with my fabulous Midwest girls again and I love that we showing you our restyles for each season of the year. So incredibly excited that between the five of us, we have 20 summer styles for you!

I love getting inspiration from like minded women and even better when they’re real life pals! Hoping to see them in the next month or two. Most of the ladies interpret the styles in their own way but as you know from past posts, I am a lover of re-creating Pinterest outfits almost identical, so I love doing that with my gal pals too!

In alphabetical order here we go!

First up, it’s a precious Caroline from The Petite Fashionista! Doesn’t she look adorable? It was a given that I would re-style something Caroline wore in pink as it is her signature color and my favorite! The sweet little Cami looks so good paired with the flowing neutral pants and braided sandals! I had everything in my closet to re-create this look and it was perfect timing as I had just bought the hot pink cami from Amazon and my Beachy Pants are some of my favorites!

Next up is my dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink! I have been eyeing Jill’s multicolor pleated skirt for several months and this restyle prompted me to pull the trigger on a navy and green one from J.Crew! I have loved navy and green together since high school and thought it looked so cute with my Ciao T-shirt. Jill put adorable white sandal slides with the skirt but I knew I had to pair it with my Adidas Stan Smith sneakers  for a little more pop of gorgeous kelly green. You can’t go wrong with these adorable pleated skirts. Jill looks just darling and so sporty sweet!

The minute I saw Kathrine from Kathrine Eldridge Blog style this chic black sleeveless top with buttons outfit, I knew I had to have that top. I was planning on re-creating the Fab look even before I knew we were doing our re-styles. It’s so hip and chic and can take us straight in the fall. Kathrine looks divine and her smile lights up the world!

Next up is my polkadot princess, Laura from I do deClaire! Again Kelly green because it just pops! I fell in love with this little top on her and I think it looks so good the way she styled it with white jeans. The Cognac color with the bag and shoes really add some sweetness. I threw in a little leopard too of course with the belt and bracelet cuff. Laura is a doll and so are her girlies!!

FASHION FAVORITES

Oh friends, I had all intentions of getting some new outfit pictures for you but the weather and my exhausted from the holidays body has not cooperated, LOL! When I shared my Most Popular Posts of 2020, I showed you the most popular outfit which was the pink tulle skirt and I decided just to roll with the favorites today. Here are some of my top fashion pot for 2020, but I need to note something.

It’s so crazy, but my fashion posts are the least viewed posts of all the ones I do. That makes me kind of sad, because I’d like to think that I have really great style. They’re also the pins on Pinterest that don’t get pinned as much. What everyone loves is the Friday favorites, the Decor posts, the motivational posts, and my recipes get pinned hundreds of times daily even though I rarely post a recipe anymore. Oh well, I do love everything, not just fashion, and that’s why I am a lifestyle blogger but sometimes I just wish my fashion got a little more love here and not just on Instagram. Maybe it’s because they’re always middle of the week, who knows? One thing I’m not gonna do in 2021 is question anything anymore, LOL!

So, here are the most loved Fashion posts from last year, hoping to garner inspo in these next couple weeks, but really, I just wanna wear comfies and hibernate, lol!

This outfit was the most popular of 2020 on Instagram and my personal favorite. It was my 49th birthday jumpsuit taken by a sweet son of mine during lockdown weeks. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to wear anywhere for my birthday, but I got these pictures as memories. We were rebels and took some quick pics in an alley on our way to take groceries to my mom.

20 FALL OUTFITS & FABULOUS RE-CREATIONS

Who in the world am I posting on a Tuesday as of late? You do it for your friends, that’s who! And, how much FUN is this! My dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink had a great idea for us ladies to re-create each other’s Fall looks! We each picked a favorite outfit of each other’s and re-created it in our way. I just love how all of these turned out!

As you may remember, this is a group of Blogger friends who meet up in in Chicago. You may remember our first meet up at RPM Italian and the fun one when we went to Windy City Live last December. I love these ladies so much, we’ve had some zoom calls during Covid and we cannot wait to meet up again in Chicago when it feels more safe!
With the Hosts of Windy City Live

Here we go with the re-creations in alphabetical order. Make sure you check out their socials and blogs!

First up is my dear friend Caroline from The Petite Fashionista who has a big birthday coming up next month! You may remember when I went and Visited her in Chicago for her birthday last year. It was a glorious day and I just love this petite dynamo! Right away I knew I wanted to re-create this fun look, I joked that all I needed was the brick wall. I paired some camo leggings with the Shop the Mint Tiger tee and we both own the same Evereve cardigan (where Caroline happens to work), and Sam Edelman boots so it was a complete no-brainer!

Next up is my dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink and it was an easy choice which outfit of hers I wanted to create! I had all the pieces and had been eyeing that olive Cami with the brown buttons for Fall from Walmart, so I was happy to have an excuse to get it! We both had the Moto jacket and, in my closet, of course, is a great staple pair of faux leather leggings and slip on leopard sneakers! Jill is the ultimate sweetheart and is such a precious friend of mine with a heart of gold. So supportive and caring!

Next up is the incredible Kathrine Eldridge! If you’re in the greater Chicago area and the suburbs, Kathrine is a wardrobe stylist and also just became an IU mom, got to give this lady extra grace this Fall because it’s always hard to go drop your kids off at college for the first time and leave them behind. But she is doing great. I am so in love with the color teal and I knew right away I wanted to re-create this look from last Fall. I got lucky and found this Free People off the shoulder sweater, you know I love my off the shoulder, and all the other pieces I had in my closet. Kathrine is so smart and beautiful and an amazing flutist.

Next up is the precious Laura from I do deClaire. You know what rhymes with Claire... (which is also her oldest daughter‘s name), is hair! This girl has some of the prettiest hair I’ve ever seen in my life plus she has the grace of an angel and a heart so sweet! My ultimate favorite color this fall is Rust and I’m really gravitating to it. I was “tickled rust” I should say, to get this jumpsuit and couldn’t wait to jazz it up for Fall. Laura recently shared this jumpsuit in two different ways but I thought it would be great to add the Jean jacket below for the cooler temps. Just love it and her!

RE-CREATIONS~THE RECAP

It had to have started with Britney a few years back,

10 years to be precise, when I started the re-creation idea brewing in my fashion brain. When I started PINteresting and looking at all the cute inspiration, the fire was really lit. While it is not always plausible to re-create as a lot of times when you go to find said item, it is gone or you can't find anything similar, it really is fun when you do assemble the pieces you need. Since some of your are new to this blog, here are my 2015 re-creations from online inspirations.
