GIRLS WEEKEND GETAWAY IN SOUTH HAVEN

Ohhh friends, if summer could bottle up joy, laughter, and the sweetest kind of soul care—it would look just like our girls’ weekend in South Haven, Michigan! It was our 4th Annual Summer Get Together. SPECIAL Edition of Friday Favorites here.

Last weekend with my dear friends Jill, Kathrine, and Laura, we packed up our bags and headed to the lakeshore for a few days of connection, fun, and fabulous eats. And let me tell you—it was everything my heart needed and more! (missed our dear Caroline)

the rental and have made me smile all week!

We kicked things off with a walk down the pier to the charming lighthouse. South Haven never disappoints with its quaint streets, breezy lake air, and that peaceful small-town vibe that instantly slows you down. We were just anxiously awaiting Jill for the next day.

After an amazing breakfast and gift opening at the Air B&B the next morning, we changed into our chicest casual looks and headed out for shopping in town. Our favorite purchases: matching pajamas at Renaissance. We were even kind of matching that day.

Then we hit up a delicious tapas restaurant called Taste—I’m still dreaming about the steak bites and potato pancakes with apple chutney! Local flavor with gourmet flair? Yes please.

And then came the vibe shift: live music at the Groovin’ Grove! Think retro vibes, disco balls, twinkle lights, the amazing voice of Shelby Lentz. With yummy bites and delicious cocktails, we sang along, we laughed, and honestly, it felt like a movie moment.

Back at our cozy rental, the matching pajama moment was peak girls’ trip goals. Think: blush pink florals, cool summer PJ vibes, and lots of fun timer photos. This pic was too good not to share again!

We stayed up late eating snacks, playing Catchphrase (competitive chaos!) and a deep-thinking round of Citizens of Humanity, which sparked some amazing conversations. And oh the laughter. We laughed so hard. There’s something so magical about the combination of laughter and vulnerability, isn’t there? Check out Laura's Lofthouse Cookie Bars. She found edible Barbie heads at Dollar Tree. Jill's tasty dip and lemon cookies were amazing too.

Saturday morning, we popped into the local farmers market to browse fresh blooms, berries, and artisan treats. (Yes, I absolutely left with summer blackberries & peaches in hand!)

Afternoon Coffee and Tea Drinks were a must!

One of the most peaceful moments? Our visit to a salt cave at Salt & Soul. I’d never done anything like it before, and wow… 40 minutes of pure zen, salty air, and deep, calming energy. I could literally feel the stress melt away. (Highly recommend adding it to your itinerary if you’re heading to South Haven!)

Afternoon held more shopping, relaxing at the rental, sips and homemade pizza rolls from Laura in the backyard, a walk to the pier for outfit photos and dinner at a SH staple called Clementine’s.

Back to the rental for Hot Tub time, Would you Rather questions, and Face Masks. Sorry no photos, lol! Kathrine made her French toast casserole for us the next morning. YUM!

By the end of the trip, we were all glowing—from the inside out. Not just from good food or sunshine (although both were abundant), but from the kind of connection that only true, heart-sister friendship brings.

ONE TOP & ONE BAG STYLED 5 WAYS

This top is cute as a button. Aventura clothing is so high quality and guess what? It’s ON SALE! This top comes in three beautiful colors and since everyone is telling me I look so good in blue, which I never even thought, I was so happy to style the Amparo Blue.

Oh, this bag! My friends at Teddy Blake know how to design a handbag with the finest Italian leathers! This Sophia Duo Leather 9" in Pink is a gem!

My entire goal here with these two beautiful pieces was to get pictures with my bubblegum pink petunias, you know I love to match my outfits with my house and gardens, lol!

Simple kick crop white denim jeans looked really good with this top and then I started thinking about Fall, who am, it’s July, but you know I’m a Fall girl but AnyWho I threw booties with it and then I’m like no let me put my new white leather sandals from Marmi Shoes, such soft leather! Super cute! I’ll throw back on the booties closer to Fall and maybe add a sweet light washed denim jacket or cardigan!

20 WINTER OUTFITS WITH FABULOUS FRIENDS

We're BAACK for Winter! How much FUN is this! My dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink had a great idea for us ladies to re-create each other’s outfits for the seasons. HERE we shared our Fall Interpretatios. Now it's our Winter looks! We each picked a favorite outfit of each other’s and re-created it in our way. I just love how all of these turned out!

As you may remember, this is a group of Blogger friends who meet up in Chicago. You may remember our first meet up at RPM Italian and the fun one when we went to Windy City Live last in Dec of 2019. Of course we were planning on meeting up in 2020, but darn Covid. We do occasionally enjoy zoom calls but hoping to see each other IRL this year!

First up is my dear friend Caroline from The Petite Fashionista.

This was such a perfect outfit to re-create of Caroline’s because she is all heart! Just the sweetest! She’s really been getting back into blogging and always has the cutest outfits on Instagram! She is a little petite dynamo and I adore her!

Caroline actually works at Evereve, where her adorable heart sweatshirt is from, but I had the sweater that was almost identical, so it was perfect. We had a snowy day here when I wore this, so I threw on my black glossy Hunter boots!

Next up is my dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink and it was an easy choice which outfit of hers I wanted to create!

It is always so easy to re-create Jill‘s outfits because we have very similar styles! She is the most supportive and loyal friend, and I am so blessed to have her in my life! This was a fun one because I had all these pieces in my closet, but Jill gave me a totally new perspective on how to wear them all together! Just love the pops of leopard and the sweet little peek of lace!

Next up is the amazing Kathrine Eldridge!

Kathrine is my fellow IU mom and such a talent in so many ways. Kathrine gave me all the Valentine vibes! I remember her sharing this sweet red striped sweater a couple times and falling in love with the ruffles. I didn’t have one with ruffles, but I did get a cute hoodie, so I put a little bit more casual spin on it but kept the fabulous tall boots.

Next up is the beautiful Laura from I do deClaire.

Dear Laura is a gem! I mean just look at that smile! Laura is very motivating and such a great mom! I love her sweet style and grace! Always love her outfits too and this one she shared as a date night outfit. Wish we could double date, I think our hubby's would-be fast buds! A favorite color is rust and Laura and I both happen to own a rust mini skirt. In fact, in our Fall re-creations, she shared one of mine in this skirt and had to do it too because I loved how she styled hers! I added a hat and a lil leopard to mine.

Who in the world am I posting on a Tuesday as of late? You do it for your friends, that’s who! And, how much FUN is this! My dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink had a great idea for us ladies to re-create each other’s Fall looks! We each picked a favorite outfit of each other’s and re-created it in our way. I just love how all of these turned out!

As you may remember, this is a group of Blogger friends who meet up in in Chicago. You may remember our first meet up at RPM Italian and the fun one when we went to Windy City Live last December. I love these ladies so much, we’ve had some zoom calls during Covid and we cannot wait to meet up again in Chicago when it feels more safe!

First up is my dear friend Caroline from The Petite Fashionista who has a big birthday coming up next month! You may remember when I went and Visited her in Chicago for her birthday last year. It was a glorious day and I just love this petite dynamo! Right away I knew I wanted to re-create this fun look, I joked that all I needed was the brick wall. I paired some camo leggings with the Shop the Mint Tiger tee and we both own the same Evereve cardigan (where Caroline happens to work), and Sam Edelman boots so it was a complete no-brainer!

Next up is my dear friend Jill from Doused in Pink and it was an easy choice which outfit of hers I wanted to create! I had all the pieces and had been eyeing that olive Cami with the brown buttons for Fall from Walmart, so I was happy to have an excuse to get it! We both had the Moto jacket and, in my closet, of course, is a great staple pair of faux leather leggings and slip on leopard sneakers! Jill is the ultimate sweetheart and is such a precious friend of mine with a heart of gold. So supportive and caring!

KATHRINE

Next up is the incredible Kathrine Eldridge! If you’re in the greater Chicago area and the suburbs, Kathrine is a wardrobe stylist and also just became an IU mom, got to give this lady extra grace this Fall because it’s always hard to go drop your kids off at college for the first time and leave them behind. But she is doing great. I am so in love with the color teal and I knew right away I wanted to re-create this look from last Fall. I got lucky and found this Free People off the shoulder sweater, you know I love my off the shoulder, and all the other pieces I had in my closet. Kathrine is so smart and beautiful and an amazing flutist.

LAURA

Next up is the precious Laura from I do deClaire. You know what rhymes with Claire... (which is also her oldest daughter‘s name), is hair! This girl has some of the prettiest hair I’ve ever seen in my life plus she has the grace of an angel and a heart so sweet! My ultimate favorite color this fall is Rust and I’m really gravitating to it. I was “tickled rust” I should say, to get this jumpsuit and couldn’t wait to jazz it up for Fall. Laura recently shared this jumpsuit in two different ways but I thought it would be great to add the Jean jacket below for the cooler temps. Just love it and her!

WILD DAYS AHEAD

The minute I saw this sweater and skirt I think hollered out a yeehaw! I mean, it literally is the perfect Fall outfit!

A slouchy cream sweater and snakeskin print tiered skirt is my kind of cuteness. The name of the skirt is "Wild Days Ahead," how FUN!!

The Mint Julep Boutique is always my go to for cute, boho and on trend inspired looks. You cannot go wrong with either of these pieces.

I’m ready thinking of all the shoes and boot pairing possibilities and I’m excited to wear this sweater with jeans too.
