FRIDAY FAVORITES LINK-UP.....MOVING IN

It’s just the Friday Favorites Link-Up today as are doing the dreaded second move in today at IU. This one is moving into a brand new apartment with amenities up the ying yang…like with a pool, hot tub, indoor basketball quart, jumbotron, pickle ball court and the list goes on. Yeah, looking pretty promising BUT I wrote this last night and enroute they emailed that all move in times got pushed back because it’s NOT DONE YET! Could’ve saved on the hotel so now we sit with packed vehicles, yucky rain and play the waiting game. Not real happy right now. And as you know, for this mom, the Kleenex box is under the seat because I forget it Tuesday and had to use a paper towel, lol! I did want to share the robe love. The boys LOVE their cozy robes. While the one on the right is practical and wears his around like Hugh Hefner, the one on the left thought a little “CaCaw CaCaw” would be fun in the frat house.

Man I’m gonna miss em’!

Next year this is us.....Empty Nest

  4. Look on the BRIGHT side (I'm trying here so bear with me...) 1. 6 more hours of your boys! 2. Our colleges and unis started this week so you technically got an extra week with them thanks to not being below the Mason Dixon! Look at you getting all that extra time! Go on with yaself. I love you muches! You're the mama I aspire to be. XO!

I can just see him "flying" around the fraternity house! As for your other handsome man, he looks even better than Hugh! Such handsome MEN, Andrea! You and Jay are so blessed! Good luck and NO CRYING this weekend while you're moving in your men! Let me know if you need to borrow a roll of paper towels! Love ya! You're the bomb dot com!

  16. They are some cool cats for sure. Love those robes! I really hope the apartment is ready for you to move him in. What a major pain!! Grrrrr!!! I still have 3 weeks left until my daughter leaves but she's going really far away so I'm hanging on to each day with all I've got! Wishing you a smooth move and not too many tears my friend!!

  17. Well the new place sound swanky, but UGH! They could have told you it wasn't going to be ready a little sooner. When Katie was moving in last year (to a brand new dorm that's hotel style) they were still doing the landscaping, rolling in chairs and finishing up when we were moving her in too. Keep smilin' mama!!! XOXO

  18. Ahhh that empty nest quote is seriously tugging at my heart strings. I am sure it was just yesterday you felt like your kids were toddlers and now look at them all grown up and going off for their second year of college and your youngest a senior. Ugh! These kids! Sending you all the hugs today!! I might just move in to the new apt too with all those amenities. Hopefully they wont have you waiting to long to get in!

  19. It is so hard! Well truthfully I can only imagine how hard since I haven't really done it yet, and let me just say I am NOT looking forward to it. I am sorry sweet mama.

  20. Ugh pregnancy hormones over here. Why am I tearing up for you?! I feel like I'm going to blink and this will be A and little nugget soon. I did get a chuckle though at your son in his bird robe. He is probably going to rule the frat house in that thing. I'm sorry the move got messed up but hoping it all works out for you and those rain clouds go away. I hope you still have a great weekend! xo Sierra Beautifully Candid

  21. An apartment with a pool sounds pretty cool to me! Hope the move goes smoothly!

  22. Oh girl, I cannot even imagine how hard it is to let go and watch them move away. I hope everything goes smoothly once they give you the green light to move! And that picture of the bird robe cracked me up! I bet he is a HOOT!

  23. I am so glad you packed your kleenex, a paper towel is too harsh for your beautiful face! I am dying at the caw caw! Have a lovely weekend lovely!

  24. I almost cried reading this! I remember so well when my only child moved into college. She was only 30 minutes away but it was like giving up my best friend. I had nothing to "mom" around the house. Shes been out of college now for 5 years and living in a high rise apartment (with those amenities) in the middle of the city where she went to school. So, yep, shes still a few minutes away. I still miss your in the house so bad but its also fun to see them make it on there own. She does come home and stay a weekend or two each month so I can Mommy her. lol.
Now, you need some chocolate, a glass of wine and a hammock.
    Hugs

  25. Yikes!! That would stress me out to no end. I’m a planner and don’t always adapt to spur of the moment change well. Your boys are pretty cool though and I love the shots of them sporting their robes. Good luck, Mama!

  26. Oh my goodness, I can't even begin to think about the day my boys will go to college. My heart! You're such a strong mama, Andrea! I'm glad you packed your kleenex, and that robe has me giggling haha I think my husband would love it lol have a wonderful weekend!

  27. Bless your heart. I know your heart aches every year this time. But hang on - you've survived all these other years & they'll be home soon enough to you momma!!!

  29. Andrea,
LOVE those quotes! Perfect for the occasion. Especially Winnie the Pooh and Dr. Seuss. I remember taking my son and as I left him at the airport (me on the plane!) we both cried. So I had to hurry and board! It was a bittersweet moment and I was both happy and sad. You know what I mean...

  30. This time will come way to soon for this mama. Praying for you.

  31. I’m sending you virtual Momma hugs today. You just made me realize that this is the first year I have nobody to take to school. The youngest of our six graduated this spring. Moving her to an exciting new job in Wisconsin was tough. I was born to have a house full of family. I’m thankful that the others stayed local and are able to congregate for our weekly family dinner!

  32. I had to laugh over the paper towel, because of not having kleenexes! That is so me! I am such a crybaby! LOL! I was in the car the other day with Nathan, getting Starbucks and a sad song came on the radio (that reminded me of my grandparents) and mom was bawling. And, Nathan was like... "Mom, are you ok?" LOL! I wish you the best of luck with this hard period! I still have 6 years till Nathan is off and I know it is going to fly.

  33. Nice place to move into. When my daughter went to CSU-Monterey Bay, the dorms were old Army Barracks. I am lucky because as my son is going to college, he is living with me.

Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

  34. Oh, how well I remember those college/apartment move in days. Hubby said at one time he should have bought stock in U-Haul. It seemed endless at the time. All the best and hope they finished up and you got to move your son in. Terrible to have to WAIT!

  35. Thinking of you this weekend. Thomas left today and I couldn't stop crying. I keep thinking it will get better - but nope. Hope the move in issues got resolved.

And then you blink and they’re getting married. My son got married last week, and I cried all happy tears, but, it’s still tough to know that the hand they’ll hold forevermore is no longer yours.

  39. Those robes you got for the boys look so comfy. Sounds like an amazing apartment set up with so many cool amenities but very last minute planning on their behalf to make you have to book a hotel for the night. I guess the silver lining is that you got to spend more time with your boys. Those boys are so blessed to have you as a mom because your heart is so huge and I'm sure they adore you back.
