Hope you all had one terrific weekend, now what will be nice is to have one GREAT week ahead. Think about this:
It’s Sunday night and — groan, groan, groan — that means the
weekend is coming to a close. Monday mornings are difficult. But you can make
them a little more do-able. On the weekends, I make room for fun things. I make
room for clear thinking. I make room for not feeling overwhelmed or over-scheduled. Sunday is a great time for me to walk through the week and
try to smooth the path ahead of us.
Here are 9 things you should do to help you reset and
recharge for the week ahead. I do most of these on Sunday evenings and it
really doesn’t take that long. The trade-off for a little time is that Mondays
and the days ahead go so much smoother. Now, I will admit, I do not do all 9 of these every.single.Sunday but even some help and I ALWAYS do this first one.
1. Plan Your
Outfits For The Week
I first learned this about 20 years ago from my friend Kris. Hanging on a bar in her bathroom would be 5 work outfits with jewelry and accessories attached, how smart! I’ve been choosing my outfits the Sunday before for many years now… it takes just a few minutes to choose the outfits and it really saves me a groggy, sleepy headache in the morning of worrying about putting together a cute, professional look. If it is just an errands day, I even put that out too. These Clothing Racks are great for paining your outfits!

2. Get the Ironing Done
I HATE to iron, yes I do. There is no way I am lugging out the ironing board every night. So, ya know how I plan my outfits for the week? I also iron items any that need it. That way I am only doing it once and not more than I want to. I absolutely love this Portable Ironing Board!

3. Prepare
Breakfast and Lunch For Monday
I find cooking and preparing food
very relaxing and peaceful, so I enjoy putting together a breakfast and lunch
for the next day Sunday evening. Some dishes can’t be prepared too far in
advance, but you can make up some items, like grilled chicken or pasta, and
they’ll easily stay fresh all week and is perfect for lunches. My favorite Bento Boxes make food prep so much easier!

4. Prep Evening Meals Food For The Week
Again, Sunday’s are the perfect time to prep ingredients and think about what you may be having for dinner that week. Diced up veggies if needed. Also, what you have for Sunday dinner may turn into other dishes for the weeknights. A pot roast, for example, can turn into roast beef sandwiches or beef Manhattans. Mondays are also a great time for a crock-pot meal so prep it on Sunday, refrigerate the ceramic portion and simply plug-in on Monday morning.
5. Check
Your Calendar and Make Lists
One of the last things I do before I get my Sunday night
Zzz’s is check my calendar for the week and craft a relevant to-do list. This
typically includes anything from items to purchase at the grocery store, to
people I should call and catch up with, to bills that need to be paid, to blog
posts I’d like to write, to things that have to do with the kids or the dog, to
goals for the next seven days. Writing down what I need to get done clears my
head of the madness and truly helps me to refocus for the week ahead.
6. Empty all your trashcans
Emptying your trashcans is an excellent way to do away with the past week and reset for the week ahead. Plus, clean, empty trashcans at the beginning of your week won’t leave you with the added stress of needing to take out the garbage before or after work.
7. Restock your refrigerator and pantry
Make sure to take a trip to the grocery store over the weekend to
restock your kitchen–both the fridge and the pantry. There’s nothing
worse than coming home from work to find that you have absolutely
nothing to eat!I hate going to the grocery store when it is crowded. I find that late on Saturday (if you have no plans) or early on Sunday is when there is hardly anyone there. AND I LOVE a good organized pantry. I use these Food Containers

And I love these Stackable Organizers too
8. Tidy Up
By no means am I saying clean, although I know many people who do on the weekends, especially Saturday Morning. What I am saying is having a tidy home is a great feeling. Clean things off the counters and desk, make sure all the Landry is folded. If you are like me, when you go on vacation, you like to come home to a clean house. Well, shouldn't it be the same on a Monday, coming home to neatness. :)
9. Think
Of The Little Things
I take a large amount of vitamins, so every Sunday I get out the bottles and fill up my vitamin container. Here is my Favorite Pill Organizer. Or maybe you want to take some items to work for that week, throw em' in your work bag on Sunday Evening.

I have to tell you…these simple things truly set me up for a successful week. My mind
isn’t cluttered with a million different things that I need to get done
each morning before work or evening after work, which puts me at ease and it will put you at ease too. I hope!
What do you like to do to get ready for the week ahead?

DeleteThese are great ideas!!! I go grocery shopping and do some meal prepping on Sundays. I try to get my laundry caught up, sometimes I get to the ironing...sometime I dont...depending on if stuff is dry or not. I try not to get the Sunday night blues because I always feel like that Monday cloud is hanging overhead. Stupid Mondays. Haha! Have a great week!

Awesome! And I hope this Monday is going great for you!!!! :-)
DeleteWhy oh why did I never thought of preparing my work clothes Mon - Fri in the past? It was the one thing that always make me late, trying to figure out what to wear and I'm still half asleep. I was wondering if you can do a post about what vitamins are you taking and the benefits? I take a lot too but was told it does nothing for the body and has now cut down my vitamins intake.
