WHAT I EAT IN A DAY

I know these posts may be silly to some, a “I don’t really care what you eat,” lol. I, however, love them. Not only do posts like this offer food inspiration, new recipes and snack ideas, I feel like they can keep myself and you readers accountable. It might make you look at “hey what am I putting in my body” on a daily basis? Or maybe just a “YUM!” Ha ha!

I will also give you the calorie and protein breakdown. I’m trying very hard to be in a little bit of a calorie deficit so I can get off the 5-7 pounds I gained over the holidays. I’m getting close.

Soon, I will be compiling another one of my healthy recipes round up posts and include some of these that I created. Like the one I did HERE.

Breakfast

I am now obsessed with the protein bowls I’m creating. And with making a batch ahead of time, I have 3-4 bowls ready for the week. I had Mr. Nine so intrigued that I created a peanut butter flavor for him, and he is in love! I always have at least a cup of berries total a day and in the a.m. I do have a cup of coffee with Stevia and 1 tsp. Chobani Coffee Creamer.

Total Breakfast Calories 282 and 26g protein

I will add that I do still loosely intermittent fast. I normally only eat between the hours of 10:30-6:30. There may be done days I grab breakfast earlier, but I stick to it in most days. I also don’t intermittent fast on vacations or special occasions.

Lunch

How I have been loving making my own Turkey sausage. Recipe

2 eggs, 2 small turkey sausage patties, a mini avocado and some strawberries and I’m good to go. I LOVE breakfast foods at all times of the day.

Total Lunch Calories 465 & 42g protein

Or should I say teatime, lol. I have a cup of tea every afternoon and I always need a little something sweet with it. This is usually when I have my one date a day with a little bit of almond butter. You may recall my Post on How I Lowered My Cholesterol with dates. Sometimes, I will throw in some fruit and this time of year, I am loving the sumo oranges, but I just have a half. And I also just have a half of a Barebell Protein Bar

They are my all-time favorite protein bars.

Total Snack Calories 290 & 12g protein

 Dinner

This Asian Chicken Salad is a flavorful delight that hits the spot. I used the ground chicken, slaw and dressing to make Asian Chicken tacos for Mr. Nine and I had the salad. So yummy. The ground chicken I use for this is a Recipe I’ve shared on the blog before way back my first year of blogging.

Total Dinner Calories 350 & 30g protein

My Target Calories is 1350-1450 and

118 grams of protein.

The way you calculate how much protein your body needs is:

Your Weight divided by 2.2 x's 2=

If you're not as active, do it time s 1.2-1.8

I’d say I did pretty good this day with a

Total of 1387 Calories and 112 grams of protein.

What do you eat in a day?

I PRAYED FOR YOU

Without HOPE, all is lost but with it, all things are possible. Prayers get answered, happiness becomes real and love grows. This post called I prayed for you, was inspired by a song I heard recently by Matt Stell. It really resonated with me and with it, I’m going to share some things from my heart. The song itself was written about a man praying for a soulmate and he found her. Well of course it reminds me of Mr. Nine, but there are also many other things in my life that I prayed for prior to occurring.
I’m a pretty private person so they probably have more meaning than you even know
and I’ll keep these events private, but I hope it inspires you to look at things before they even become a reality:

Didn’t see your face, before I knew your name, but I prayed for you! When all my hope was lost, when all my dreams were dashed, I prayed for you! Mistakes and broken glass, yeah, I prayed for you! I knew you were there, I just didn’t know where, so I prayed for you! Then you came along and I prayed for you!

Didn’t see your face, before I knew your name, but I prayed for you! Knowing you’d be mine, knowing you’d be my heart, I prayed for you. Hoping you’d be healthy, knowing you’d be loved, yeah, I prayed for you! Then you came along and I prayed for you!

Didn’t see your face, before I knew your name, but I prayed for you! Then you came along, only to be gone and I prayed for you. When the angels held you, yes, I prayed for you! Knowing you were always mine, knowing I’d see you again, yes, I prayed for you!

Didn’t see your face, before I knew your name, but I prayed for you! More love for this broken heart, yes, I prayed for you! Not of my own blood, but of my soul, yes, I prayed for you!

Didn’t see your face, before I knew
your name, but I prayed for you! A ball of fur, to bring us joy, yeah, I prayed for you! Every single day, every unconditional way, yes, I prayed for you! Carried you til the end and I prayed for you!

When your loved ones hurt, when your love one’s bleed when your love one’s frown, yes, I pray for you! When you’re all alone, when you can’t go on, yes, I pray for you. Each and every day, know that there’s a way and that I pray for you!

Hope it’s never lost, and when it is found, it’s pure joy. But we need to continue to pray for it and nurture it so it can prosper even more when that hope sometimes fades in and out.

Every one of you who reads this, even if I’ve never seen your face or don’t know your name, know that I pray for you!

GRAB LIFE BY THE HANDFUL

Grab life by the handful! Every day we should try to do this. Often on trips I have snacks, well I always have snacks, but sometimes Mr. Nine will say “just give me a handful.” And isn’t a handful enough? Shouldn’t any little bit of something be enough? We always want more and more but a handful is really all we need! This is a motto of a fabulous company called Handful that first developed the amazing Original Handful Bra in 2006! Their athletic wear is some of the most comfortable I’ve ever owned! It’s so functional too!

High 5 for new athletic wear that makes you feel great!

I love their commitment to the F’s! Those being:

Fashion - Function - Feel - Fun - Fight

I do not hide the fact that I would give anything to have a boob job! Not necessarily to make them bigger, they are already a handful, but just to make them look better and not so asymmetrical, LOL! However, no need to worry about that with handful Bra or with their mission of fighting breast cancer! I’m lucky to be healthy with healthy breasts so why want more? I'm lucky to survive skin cancer and have family who have fought cancer and won. And while we have lost some to the horrible "C" word, I'd like to think they grabbed life by the handful while they were here on Earth with us.

This BRA is not only comfortable, but oh so beautiful!

Look at this gorgeous teal color with the mint accents. They have the prettiest colors and new patterns just for you!

And I love it when it work out leggings have a little inside pocket but I’m even more overjoyed when they have outside packets and this pair has two of them!
The Leggings are made with fabric technology and actively regulate your body temp to keep you comfy!

And of course my Earrings have to match too, lol!!

The drapey back of this Tank just makes me swoon!

Thank You Handful for being true to you and bringing us quality products that mean something!!

Remember, not only is a handful enough, but YOU are enough! Happy week ahead babes!

PUMPKIN SPICE CARE PACKAGE

College, can be tough, can be lonely and may never seem like "home" probably at least not your first year away. Our boys are making the most of it and they say their college beds are actually more comfortable then home because they have the memory foam comfy pillow tops that are oh so cozy. However, in talking to them recently they said as much as they're trying to make it home and their dorm rooms as cozy as possible, it's still not home. Here is where mom comes in to send them a little bit from back home where they love. I absolutely love giving and receiving care packages and a couple of my dear friends recently told me I should do a post about that. But I don't have pictures of the ones I've sent already but I couldn't help but snap away to share this one with you because it's my favorite so far. I've got one, who is as much of a pumpkin spice lover as I am, so I came up with the idea to do a pumpkin spice and everything nice care package!

What I put in the Pumpkin Package
Pumpkin Spice Pastry Crisps (these are sooo good)
Life Pumpkin Spice Cereal
Pumpkin Dreams Glade Plug-Ins (Dorm room needs to smell like fall)
Reese's Pumpkins
Snickers Pumpkin's
Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Pie Slices
Ghirardelli Pumpkin Spice chocolates caramels (Super good BTW)
Orange Pumpin Patch Pop Rocks
A Pumpkin Spice Protein Bar
Tin pumpkin face container for candy, pens, pencils, etc. (on Dorm desk)
A Real mini Pumpkin (to decorate the Dorm Room)

What I Did
I used this pumpkin and printed 6 of them on a sticker backed label sheet and cut them out and put letter stickers on each pumpkin to spell I MISS U

Filled the box with orange tissue and packed everything inside.

Found another pumpkin image and added my own wording with TitleX app or you can use PicMonkey, I put this on top of the folded over tissue paper. I also enlarged a couple of the lil pumpkins and added encouraging words and added some scrapbook stickers.
I think it was a HIT, can you tell by this smile??

This quote below is my motto!!! Happy Monday. Do something small for someone this week and feel your heart and more importantly; their's.....SOAR!!

Confessions: THINGS I'VE NEVER DONE

There's Bucket Lists of things you've never done that you want to do and then there's lists of things you've never done but you're totally OK with never doing!!! Some ladies and I got to talking about things we had never done and it took some thought but we all had interesting lists. One friend had never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and another had never been on an airplane or in a boat. These are the things I confess to that I've never done in my life as some elaboration as to why...

I've NEVER....

Seen an episode of The Bachelor (Gasp! I know)
I do not like that kind of drama so just never have watched, although Ben Higgins is from our area and we were at his High School the night of a taping, but still, nope, no desire. The kinds of drama I like are the Chicago kind, you know, Fire, Med and PD.

Had stitches
Butterfly bandage, yes, stitches, no

Had a broken bone
 Thank Goodness

Been in a Semi Truck
Ok, I know a couple semi drivers and they're very nice but the idea of a semi truck just conjures up a truck stop creeper kind of vibe, is that just me?

Swam under water
This is a strange one to me. I love the water and can swim but I've never actually swam underneath the water. So weird!

Been on a Jet Ski or Water Skies
Most likely, I would not be swimming underwater with these, signal life vest; so I really can't say what I've never been on them.

Eaten Brussels Sprouts, Caviar, Eggs Benedict, Oysters, SpaghettiOs or a Big Mac
Are these things any good? My husband loves Eggs Benedict but I've never tried it.

Joined Facebook or Instagram
I simply cannot do all Social Media and work and have a blog and raise a family. A couple outlets have to get sacrificed. Now while I admit I am probably missing out a little not having an insta, and you're probably all gonna tell me that, lol, not having a FB is 110% fine by me. I read an article why one guy refused to join HERE and even had others try to argue why he should HERE and his stance remained the same.

Been inside a Costco
We just got one a couple years ago but I've never been and unless they give us a free day to try it, not worth the membership fee 45 minute drive for me.

Been on a Cruise
No desire. I'll plant my butt in the sand in same port for a week and be just fine.

Been to a Circus
No Big Top, wish I had a "big top", lol. I'm probably missing the elephants, right??

Taken My Kids to Disney World
Say it, I'm a terrible mother!!!! Terrible, ha. Brenda over at Chatting Over Chocolate would have my hide, lol. However, trust me, these boys have not been deprived..so many great vacations.

Gotten a Tattoo
At about 21 the idea flashed through my mind but it was fleeting and no desire now. My luck, with my aging skin, a butterfly would end up Lord only knows were, lol

Plucked My Eyebrows
While sometimes I think my eyebrows need more definition, knock on wood, no uni-brow yet so I see no reason to start now.

Worn False Eyelashes
Oh they are so pretty!! Yet, I know what would happen, I'd be in the middle of something important and one would start falling off and I'd think a caterpillar is crawling up my face.
