Let's talk meat and cheese! Just the thought of those two things makes me want to pour a glass of wine and indulge in the yumminess! When my husband and I were in Rome a few years ago, we feasted on yummy meats and cheeses for every breakfast/brunch our hotel served! After having delightful meat and cheese boards in restaurants, and seeing them all over Pinterest, I was bound and determined to create a great one for our recent brunch!

First off, the way I see it, if you must have the perfect board, not too big but definitely not too small. So many of them I have seen are tiny and only hold like three cheeses and a handful of crackers. I searched Amazon and of course looked at the ratings and prices and this is the best one I found and boy I sure was happy with it! I see me pulling this out a lot and filling it with all kinds of delectables.
Here is the one I got in case you're interested.
Buy one HERE
Next up, the base of the goodness, the meat and cheese! I didn't really want to have to buy all the cheeses and meats individually which I could've done, but I found these amazing packages at Sam's Club and they were delicious. I added Beef snack bites, which are always a hit. Loving cheese, I knew I wanted a soft cheese as well and the Boursin Garlic and Herb fit the bill perfectly.
My mom had gotten us a summer sausage and cheese gift set for Christmas so I sliced up the summer sausage and jalapeƱo jack cheese that was in it and added it as well.
You've got to have a nice cracker assortment, and tennis are my favorite. However, I love Pepperidge farm products for their quality so I was excited to see this cracker Trio. The butterfly crackers were just adorable! And the Bruschettini snack sized toasts, well I LOVE those things!!
And, seeing as I love fresh mozzarella and I am especially crazy about the blank blank mozzarella balls, I drained those and added them in a sweet little dish. I needed something else so I opened a couple packages of the Sargento balanced breaks with the cashews, golden raisins and white cheddar chunks and they were the perfect little addition to fill the space.
Last but not least, the garnish which for me was parsley although I wanted some evergreens sprigs, of course grapes, and some strawberry old-fashioned candies.
There you have it, the perfect meat and cheese tray. Replenish as needed and pour me another glass of moscato!

This is such a great setup, Andrea! I'm not a huge fan of meat boards, but my husband is obsessed with them. He basically tries to get me to make one every weekend haha! I'll have to remember this for when he asks for one on Saturday -- I love the layout you created!

I LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THIS! One of my goals for myself this year is to learn how to make a rocking cheese board, and now I don't even have to do any work because you already did it for me! B and I LOVE wine and we would love to start making a cheese board to go along with it every now and then. And we are already Sam's members, so I'll definitely be looking for these items there. Now all I need is to get the board! Heading over to check out the one that you recommended! And I'm pinning this, too!
ReplyDeleteI love a great cheese platter and this one looks amazing! You really pulled out all the stops!
ReplyDeleteI seriously love a meat and cheese board! It's one of my favorite things to order at a restaurant but I've never made one myself.
ReplyDeleteThat tray is for me, what is everyone else going to have? ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great tips and partying with us on #TastyTuesdays
Andrea! I tell ya, you are a girl after my own heart! I just finished eating the balanced break pictured in this post right before popping by your blog! lol :) Your meat & cheese board looks like perfection (I pinned immediately! ;)) and I love that you ended it with Buddy's quote! ReplyDeleteI'm an appetizer girl!! I would be happy eating something like this for dinner every night!! So good...and pretty, too!
ReplyDeleteI learned something when I went home for a vacation. Did you know this is called a (hold up while I google to spell this)....Charcuterie? It was at a party and one of our friends said "I'm bringing a Charcuterie board" and of course us unrefined folk said. "Uh". Anyway...I LOVE me some meat & cheese boards or Charcuteries..I wrote it 3x...I believe that word is mine now right? Haha
ReplyDeleteCheese is my weakness and your spread looks amazing! My cheese board would only fit 1/3 of those goodies but I think this looks perfect for a ladies wine and cheese night...
ReplyDeleteAaaaand now I'm hungry, thank you Mrs. Nine! Lol...cheese is my favorite actually. I don't let myself buy it unless I'm having company or need it for a recipe. Otherwise, there is NO "stop eating this cheese" mechanism in my brain:)

ReplyDeleteyum! Charcuterie boards are my favourite snack
ReplyDeleteNot only is your platter/board beautiful to look at, but you shared how to put it all together! Thank you!! They always look too complicated. I'm courageous enough to try to do one on my own now! Thanks again! It really is lovely!
ReplyDeleteDefinite party goals here! Also, how cute are those butterfly crackers?!
ReplyDeleteI seriously could sit down and eat meat and cheese until I'm sick...with a glass of wine of course! This looks amazing. I always like to throw a few grapes on mine for some unknown reason haha. Totally would be right over at your house for happy hour if I lived nearby!
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is one loaded meat and cheese tray. I love appetizers like this! I could munch on them for so long.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh meat and cheese had always been my favorite snack or appetizer! It's funny to me that they are all the rage now when my family has been doing these for years and years. Yours looks amazing and I basically want to face plant right into it!

Trendy & Tidy
Great tip to buy packages and then re-platter. Buying all the cheeses and meats gets expensive FAST. Totally agree, too, that cheese platters always seem to be ridiculously small. I've seen people use 12" marble tiles from the hardware store as a fun DIY option, too. Thanks so much for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, heaven all on one board right there for sure!I love meat and cheese and crackers. Yum! That board is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'm salivating as I type! All looks lovely and one of my favourite picky meals.. Yum yum x Jacqui
