FRIDAY FAVORITES SWEET MAY

Happy middle of May babes! Slow down already, “Summer” is just getting started, ha ha but with our weather who knows? We’re going from 80s yesterday and today here in Northern Indiana to a high of 59° Sunday. It’s been kind of a slow yet crazy week and I’m happy to report my three-month-old tooth saga is over. I got the permanent crown put on Wednesday, a fabulous cleaning and I’m good to go. BUT yesterday had a major pool issue so hoping it gets figured out and we can get back in. I love pools but like a boat, they are money pits.

Mother’s Day

We started with an amazing brunch at a place we had never been before called The early Bird Eatery and the food was incredible.

While 2 live out-of-state boys were missing, the dad of the twins, surprised us with a visit on Sunday. And best of all it was a perfect sunshiny day, and we were able to get in the pool! (before it went cloudy with nitrates this week) The girls had a ball!

Watering Can

Their mama created the most precious gift for me and great grandma Giga. (we are holding them in the title pic). She painted super cool watering cans with designs and the girls’ painted handprints. The thumbprint was turned into a ladybug and she put our names on top along with some gardening gloves. Such a thoughtful gift!

Hummingbird Planter

My mom always gets me something too, and she found the sweetest concrete hummingbird pot and put my favorite shade of Verbena in there, raspberry.

Outfits

What I wore Mother’s Day, a sweater I got to take to Cape Cod this summer and the last outfit: not going to lie. I wore it 2 days in a row. lol. Do you ever do that?

Nature Pics: Gerbera Daisies

Had to get you some pictures of two of my Gerbera daisies! I don’t usually have these annuals outside, but I couldn’t resist these two colors this year and I hope they do well.

Cookies for the Dentist’s Office

I mentioned that my dental ordeal is over, but as always, I took the office some cookies, I found the cutest patriotic trays at Hobby lobby and filled one with monster cookies using red, white and blue M&Ms. Remember when I took my old beloved Dentist the I wish I would not have left any at home though I dipped into the stash and could you not I ate 5 after my appointment.

Stella and Her Insta Toy

And last, but not least, I may not be on Instagram right now, but Stella is, ha ha, at least she thinks she is with one of her favorite toys from Grandma! This girl loves to take bigger toys to bat around balls with. It's so cute!

What was your favorite thing during your week?

HAPPY WEEKEND & BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL!!!

FRIDAY FAVORITES....HEADING INTO SUMMER

Hi friends, well we had one rainy day this week but every other day has been picture perfect here in Indiana EXCEPT What originally was supposed to be an 80° weekend is now a Sunday high of 58, boo to that. We were going to take Stella on a day trip to establishments that allow dogs around Lake Michigan, darn it. We’ll figure something else out and I sure hope y’all figure out a great weekend! Inching into total summer mode!

OH and big news, I went to COSTCO for the first time with my friend Kim yesterday. I'm SOLD!

1. Stella the Swimmer

Flamingo

Last weekend it was all warmth and sunshine! We blew up the Big Flamingo from my friend Kate and Miss Stella had her first swim! How cute does she look in her teeny weenie pink Polka Dot Bikini! She just loved floating on that flamingo and of course was a natural swimmer, LOL! We have such an outdoor lover on her hands!

2. J.Crew Factory

I don’t know why it is but I really only tend to shop J.Crew and J.Crew Factory in the warmer weather months! So much cuteness to be had and summer frocks! J.Crew factory always has much better prices but the exact same quality! Look how cute these pieces are!

3. Back Porch

Getting the Back Porch cleaned up and ready for Summer Sittin makes me so happy. New Pillows arrived this year and I painted the accent table and lanterns a deeper teal. I did an entire Blog Post when we first put together this look of the porch and now on our 5th summer, it's going strong. I may change colors next year but I love the blue hues with the green.

Newer Version of our exact Sectional HERE
Comes with an extra set of cushion coves which we finally
switched to this year.

4. Azalea

I only have one azalea and it blooms every spring to only last for about a week, so I made sure I snapped a picture. Such a beautiful lavender shade.

POOL DREAMS

Happy Monday Lovelies!

Instead of swimming and sipping this past weekend, it was the simple; Subway, Sam's Club and Snugglin' watching movies. Kids, it was SIZZLING in the ole' Midwest this past weekend!

My number one favorite thing to do in the whole wide world is float around on a raft in a pool with the frozen concoction. With a heat index of 107 degrees this past weekend, I needed both the pool and the concoctions!!

When I was in eighth grade, my dad put an in-ground pool in our backyard! Best investment ever! I have the most wonderful memories by the pool; laying out the sun with my friends and mom, teaching my mom how to swim, my dad straddling a blow-up alligator, a nighttime party gone a little too far with shaving cream in the pool, strawberry daiquiris, where we girls took all our "before going out pictures", and numerous, numerous get togethers poolside including graduation open houses, birthdays and every other excuse for a party.....

Our pool circa 1989. Me in the middle. How awesome are those neon bikinis???

1987 Dad "I did it!"

Posing Poolside 1990

So when my husband and I lost out on a bid war for our dream house, he gave me the thumbs up to just go ahead and put a pool in our backyard! Imagine my excitement!? Until…… The pool installer dashed my dreams! You see, when you decide to put a pool in, the first thing the installer does is go to the health department to see if it would interfere with the septic. Well, wouldn't you know it, our "stinking" septic (Ha Ha) has these long fingers across the backyard where we wanted to put our pool.
Sad girl here!

My family are fishies too!
My sweet husband has promised me that some day my dreams will come true! Whether it be a pool, a house on a lake or both, one day, this girl's dream of a life, once again by water, will become of reality.

That's the neat thing about dreams, sometimes they get dashed, but the hope that they may be become a reality is a really beautiful thing.

Yeah, while we're dreaming...can it have a swim up bar too??

What's your favorite activity to do in the whole wide world? I would love to hear about it!
xoxo
