MAXI & DUPES, LINK-UP..OH AND FIXING BLOGGER

Maxi and Dupes, sounds like a kind of retro restaurant doesn't it? I always thought it would be fun to have a diner. Just love old school diners. Anyhow, today is the last Wednesday in our Style Perspective series. No fear, the rest of the summer we will be Freestylin'. Basically link-up anything fashion related, no pressure. Just a fun Summer Style Free Style!

Today the prompt chosen was office looks and since I no longer an in an office, rather a home office, I did manage to find something that I would've worn in the summer to the professional office scene. On this particular day, a day in a Lake town meant a breezy, easy and cute Maxi (under $30) with a jean jacket before it got warm. Those lake breezes always call for a cover up morn or evening. The "dupe" part comes in because these Sandal Slides are the Steven Madden dupes from Wal-Mart I told you about a few weeks ago. This was the first day I wore them and they are sooo comfortable!

DENIM AND BAREFOOT

Just call me your down home prairie companion. I love this Maxi dress but I do look kinda look like a prairie girl. We live in farm county Indiana, so I guess it fits. I love to be barefoot. The soft grass, the sand, dirt, plush carpet, a smooth path, but pebbles, no, don't want to walk on pebbles.
I wanted to show off this dress to discuss actually, the denim to throw on with such dresses.
Denim jackets rock! I have one from the GAP that I adore and this sleeveless one I just picked up from Target. I threw them both on with this dress and like them both. Also, this dress is cute with flat sandals, wedges and yep, cowboy boots.

Taking off my boots....ready to be barefoot the rest of the day!

Great link up with Classy Yet TrendyHere

The dress came from, believe it or not...Meijer. It's a chain of grocery+ stores.
Nicer than a Wal-Mart but not quite as nice as a Target. If you live near a Meijer, their collection of Maxi dresses right now is outstanding. It caught my eye on the way to the checkout and turned out to be a great impulse purchase.

Have an WONDERFUL Wednesday...we're half way there!!!

MAXI Love

I have really been loving Maxi dresses the past couple years but this year I fell in love with the pleated ones like this one I'm wearing from J.C. Penny. They are even more forgiving and just look cool. Pulling out this oldie but goodie for AGELESS STYLE

I have to buzz through Penny's to get into the Mall and I had seen this dress twice, but on the 3rd time though, I knew I had to bite the bullet and try it on. My hands were clamming up on the way to the dressing room. You see, twice, yes, twice I have been stuck in a dress at Penny's!!! The first time I was with my mom so at least she was there to help me. It still wasn't easy and we were laughing so hard I am sure our fellow dressing room patrons were wondering what we nut cases were doing. By now I have learned to always try on the larger size dress first. However, the 2nd attempt, I tried on the smaller size first. Sure it was a little snug, but it's not like I couldn't zip it up. My tummy pooched a little, but it was on!!
Whoo hoo. Until....it was time to take it off.
The zipper was stuck halfway but I truly believed there was plenty of leeway room to get it over my head...wrong!! The gorgeous red sheath was suddenly now too tight to get over my head and to0 tight to pull down over my thighs. "Help I can't breathe", I yelled in my head, sweat pouring down me. Up and down I danced around the dressing room my claustrophobia escalating my the second. Oh my, not my best undies today, how can I go out and find help?? Determination replaced dread and the sweat, making me somewhat slick suddenly assisted when I yanked for the umpteenth time and that zipper broke loose. Free, I'm free. I had not been back in a J.C. Penny's dressing room since that day. So, here I was desperately wanting this Maxi but with no time to return it before vacation knew I must try on. Got in the dressing room and guess what, no zippers.
I panicked for a brief moment when the lining got caught on my gold hoop earring but I had conquered this obstacle and I ended up trying on 6!! This is still the one I came home with.
