THE BEST DAY

I’m back and yes, up to my ears in laundry and to do’s but before I have our Lake Michigan vacation recap ready for you, I at least wanted to share our favorite day; our best day of the trip. The first full day of our trip was last Sunday, and it also happened to be Mr. Nine’s Birthday!

The above pic was from the sidewalk I walk to get to the bakery.

Of course, we started the day off with a bakery run. Well "I" ran walked to the bakery and brought back the goods.

Then it was time to work off the doughnuts with a hike. There are soooo many hiking trails in Northern Michigan. Baldy Trail is the perfect hike. Trail in woods up to dunes and an amazing overlook of Lake Michigan. Someone had even created a miniature gnome home at the base of a tree in the middle of the hike.

The views are spectacular.

So much FUN!!

The Wildflowers were gorgeous!

We went down a few lanes to take a look at different lakes. There are 33 alone in the county where we stay. Down one little lane was the CUTEST lemonade stand. It was decorated so precious, just look at the sign. The sweet little lemonade seller was even wearing yellow.

Lunchtime! We went to a highly recommended spot called the L'Chayim Deli. Great croissant sandwich!

Next it was time for some beach Badminton! Last year we got the most fabulous portable badminton set. It’s under $30 and we love it! It didn't get great reviews but we'd give it 5 stars. it's Perfect. It Folds down to a neat little portable carry set, even holding all the rackets. Mr. Nine and I won one game, but the boys were the champs winning the series.

Next it was time for Mr. Nine to open all the birthday presents we brought him. He had a boat load to open. This is a favorite whiskey that I surprised him with from out loves distiller in a bag made of old recycled whiskey barrels.

His choice for dinner was the Iron Fish Distillery. It’s out in the boonies and we just love it there. Outdoor entertainment, great cocktails, wood fired pizzas and all kinds of games. Of course, we played some corn hole and once again got beat by the kids, lol. Our favorite pizza was called the “sassage” and I loved that many of the cocktail specials were made with fresh strawberries since it’s strawberry season up there.

What I wore to dinner....

On the way back, one of the boys suggested Ice cream and we were all in. Next to our own town’s ice cream shop, our vacation town’s is 2nd best and so cute. I love that they have kiddie cones! The perfect size for me. They’re lemon custard is to die for.

Lake Michigan sunsets cannot be beat! We made it back lakeside just in time for one of the prettiest of the week. It went from orange hues to cotton candy. Spectacular!

Such a great day with our sweet fam and what a way to celebrate the guy who makes these fabulous vacations possible!

We didn’t get many photos of the 4 of us on this trip but I did pull out the remote for this evening, but we were laughing so hard at my clicks, this was the best one, lol.

It's the little days like this that make life Grand!
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK SWEET FRIENDS!

  19. Aw, it looks like Mr. Nine was celebrated up right. That badminton kit is the bomb. I can totally see why you'd give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. How great that you don't have to drive any poles in the ground. I wish there was an awesome donut shop within walking distance of our condo next week. But then again, maybe it's best that there's not. HA! XOXO
