Mr. Nine won my heart a long time ago and it's locked in tight. Many times around Valentine's Day, our Anniversary, or just when I'm thinking about how much I appreciate him, I start thinking about all the wonderful things he does to make me happy. Recently, I started thinking about other people and how their man won their hearts. When it comes right down to it, we women are from Venus and while we differ in so many ways, I think we can relate to each other in what it takes to make us happy and feel appreciated in our relationship with the one we love. While no relationship is all roses and candy 24/7, marriage and relationships can be wonderful and should be cherished.
Several Months ago I did a post on Tips To Keep Your Marriage Thriving and many of the ways he won your heart, you both can do each and everyday to keep it lock and key!
Several Months ago I did a post on Tips To Keep Your Marriage Thriving and many of the ways he won your heart, you both can do each and everyday to keep it lock and key!
What does your man do to win your heart? Was there something you can pinpoint that made you know that no one but him would ever have your heart again? How does he win your heart on a daily, weekly basis?
Here are 9 Ways to Win A Girl's Heart
Be A Gentleman
Yes, we do want to be treated like a princess. Even though we are strong women, we want him to be the one in charge. Open doors for us, especially the car door. Pull out our chair and allow us to sit down first when we go out, and let us order first. When we're walking alongside on the street, he should be the one walking closest to the street, ya know, in case of a side swipe. I am so old school in wanting my man to be the leader. Being a gentleman is being selfless.
Be Complimentary
Tell us we're beautiful, tell us we look nice or how wonderful that meal we just slaved over was. Mr. Nine is so good at this and when he says those things, my heart just swells. I have a friend who's in the middle of a divorce, while there were many issues, one thing he failed to do was compliment her...ever. How sad and I hope that is a lesson learned. Those simple, sincere, complimentary phrases really do deepen our bond.
Be Creative/Romantic
I don't think most of us need romance, hearts and flowers every day! We're way too busy to think about it on a daily basis. However your woman does want to be romanced every now and then and we want you to plan it! It doesn't have to be elaborate and doesn't have to be expensive. Some of mine and my husbands best days have been just driving around doing little things! Just a sweet, loving romantic text can make me a smile. Taking the time to focus on each other is what romance is really all about.
Drove around this day in Tennessee and found all kinds of good stuff, except after this pic was taken, we ere told Snakes were all over this mill, UGH!!
Speak well of us in front of others
Simple. Treat us just as kindly in front of friends and family as you do when we are alone. When you are on a business trip or with the guys, talk about us affectionately and with admiration. Make your buds a lil jealous by talking about how great we are.
Be Attentive
Show us that you care for us and our needs. Pay attention to the small details. We Girls care about the small stuff, big time. For instance, during one of our first conversations, I told Mr. Nine how much I loved Jr. Mints. Now, all these years later, he still picks me up a box now and then. Just thinking about us at the convenience store means so much because you get our needs. Basically, is your man picking up what your putting down?
Mr. Nine knew I wanted steak for a birthday so we hoped in the car and drove 2 hrs to Chicago for a fab meal, then drove home!! Well, yes, Mr. Nine drove home as it appears by the look on my face, I had one too many martini's meaning I had TWO, lol!
Be Protective
If we're going on a jog or walk, tell us you want us to be safe. My hubs has bought me protective gear and we have a pack that when I'm out on my run or walk, if I have not returned within an hour or it begins to pour down rain, he will come on my path to look for me.
Be A Good Listener
Ask us solid open-ended questions that include “what,” “how,” and “why.” If he's doing most of the talking, he's probably not getting very far with us. Show us you care with body language and by repeating back some of what we just told you. And by all means don't be staring at Gold Rush or Football on TV when we're trying to tell you something.
Be Helpful
I love flowers, gifts, trips and romance as much is the next woman, but when my husband is helpful boy, that really gets me! When he does stuff around the house, helps me with computer issues, fix things, picks up something at the store, or whatever it may be, it makes me appreciate him so much and his willingness to contribute to the team!
Be Yourself
There won’t be much longevity if we've fallen for a false persona, and why would you want that anyway? So what if he's not the coolest guy out there, have fun in his dorkiness. Make us laugh with your wit and silliness. If he's confident, relaxed and walking in truth, game isn’t necessary. You’ve both already won.

ReplyDeleteYou guys are seriously the cutest. How blessed you are to have found such a gem! I'm with you on the "be helpful" part - I would much rather have help around the house, than flowers that die 2 days later :) Happy Day, my friend!! XO

ReplyDeleteNothing quite does it for me as when honey does his honey do's! I know how much he hates them, so when he is helpful to me around the house - it just melts me!
sooo sweet...love is definitely in the air and you two look fantastic together :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet and so spot on! Our anniversary is Valentine's Day too! Have we talked about that before?
ReplyDeleteSo very true! I always tell my husband I find a man doing dishes, folding laundry or cleaning the house to be quite sexy. That help around the house means more to me than a bouquet of flowers. Though the one year I was working when the kids were little and he had a HUGE bouquet of flowers delivered to work on our anniversary as a surprise was amazing; just like he used to do when we were in high school.
