FRIDAY FAVORITES VEGAS STYLE

Friday Favorites today is all Vegas Baby! What a fun and whirlwind trip. Trust me when I say, Vegas is not somewhere you want to go where you stay an entire week, that’s way too much. And trust me when I say, you probably will be exhausted when you get back, lol. It is a go go go good time! This was my third visit and the most fun! And let me tell you, Mr. and Mrs. Nine can hang! The 2 couples we were with are young enough to be our kids, but man were they precious and we were just so proud that we could keep up and indulge in all the city has to offer. We made sure to have plans in place as for one of the couples, it was their first trip and we really wanted to give them the flavor of the city.
(Everything I wore is all linked at the end of this post)

We got in so late last Thursday night and we’re exhausted so our men who were already out there, met our taxi and ushered us in. We stayed at the Palazzo, which is part of the Venetian and just lovely. So much to do there. And our room had a view of the magnificent new sphere, the $2.3 billion dome that houses musical acts and gives you an experience unlike any other.

Our room view

It was up and at em’ the next morning for a 10 AM brunch at CHICA, which was phenomenal. It had Mexican and Latin flare. Afterwards we walked over to fashion mall for some shopping, shots at the Mall, lol, then back for cocktails. We also did the U2 UV experience and got to paint some cars.

So good!

Then it was gelato and hanging out with our guys a little bit who were still smoozing it up with their clients. Back to the room for a quick nap although you know I couldn’t nap, lol and it was time for the evening.

The guys had a box at the sphere to see U2 again while us girls had dinner reservations at Sushi Roku, the best sushi in the city, and then to see the new Cirque de Soleil show Mad Apple. This show is housed in the New York, New York and rightly so, as the entire show is about New York and in the coolest sense of the word.

This show literally had a little bit of everything for everyone. We were lucky to be given special drinking passes to get cocktails on stage and see it from that vantage point. So cool.

Then it was back to hang with everyone from my husband‘s business and their dealers, do a little gambling and cocktailing and hitting the hay as it had been a long one and it was now like 4:30am our time back home, lol.

The next morning, we met quickly for coffee before heading out to Area 15. Much of what we did this day was recommended to me by one of my dear friends, that many of you know and love, Jill from Doused in Pink as her sister lives there and knows the area so well. This place did not disappoint and is such a great little excursion off the strip. We had tickets for what’s called the Omega Mart, an amazing immersion experience that I won’t spoil for you, just get tickets, and go, you’ll love it. Here are some pictures, thought to give you a hint of things you’ll see. Afterwards, our golfers were excited to try Iron Five, a golf simulator place. That was super cool.

Next up, we wanted to listen to some live music, so we went to Blake Shelton‘s Ole Red in the city which I’ve been to in Gatlinburg and loved. We were lucky to get close to the stage and listen to two different acts, enjoy some drinks and yummy food. Had a fun walk on the Strip too, it was such a nice day!

Then it was back to get ready for another night out.

Mr. Nine sprung for a limo, and it was so much fun. We were jamming and dancing in that ride.

We had dinner reservations for Esther’s, in the Art’s District, a wonderful Italian kitchen with the best homemade sourdough bread. This girl had not had many carbs in a month, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t know why I didn’t get food pictures that night.

Then we went to Caesars Palace to see the show Absinthe! It was in a big red and white tent, right out in front. It was in an intimate circle, and so eclectic and cool. I cannot even describe this show to you other than that it’s a little bit of everything as well and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

And even though we were tired, we got brave and took an Uber to Fremont Street, the original downtown Las Vegas Area of craziness. It was fun to go in some of those places and play roulette at the Golden Nugget. Even if I LOST IT ALL, LOL!

Luckily, that night, we got the most sleep we had had to be ready to fly home, exhausted, but oh, so happy. Just absolutely adored being with our friends and it made us feel young again. But Vegas is not something I could do every week let alone every year, but I’m sure I’ll be back sometime, I’m waiting for another cool musical act to hit the Sphere.

What I Wore

How crazy is this that this trip was one of the most difficult I’ve ever had to pack for? I think the fact that the weather kept changing and it’s basically winter there, about the same temps we had in Indiana. Plus, just the aesthetic of Vegas is intimidating. You want to look good yet comfortable and you just don’t know what you’re going to see or if you will fit in. At least that’s the way I was looking at it. I pride myself it always picking out the cutest outfits that fit the aesthetics of my trips but I just wasn’t quite sure what I wanted for this one, but I think I ended up doing pretty darn good.

Travel out was in my new Spanx AirEssentials jumpsuit, use my code CLOUDNINEXSPANX, and let me tell you it was perfection. Someone noted they were worried about it falling on the floor when I had to go to the bathroom on the airplane but it’s such a nice material that it just came right down, I held it, did my business and zipped it right up. Love love love this jumpsuit.

For a couple daytimes outfits, I did jeans and a Blazer and then another jumpsuit in faux leather and black to have that chic Vegas look but still be comfortable.

I was going to go all out with an evening dress in the nighttime hours, but I ultimately decided to go a little more fun and edgy, and I’m very glad that I did. But you will definitely see ladies there in evening dresses. The black and gold Romper is from Lulu’s and I just loved it, got lots of compliments. Let’s just say I never feel sexy, but the rhinestone bustier i the bottom pic was spot on perfect.

For me, it is kind of a love-hate relationship with the city. Mr. Nine must go quite often for business (2-3 x’s a year) and I used to hate it just because of the adjectives and connotations associated the city so to say. But it’s not really like that, there’s a little bit of everything, it really is an adult Disney World, but in a good sense of the matter if that’s the way you look at it. You cannot beat the phenomenal food, shopping, and shows, especially! And so many pretty things to look at! Read about our last trip to Vegas in 2017 HERE

We will be watching the Super Bowl or as I call it the Travis and Taylor Bowl. I'm excited about Usher and because it is in Vegas and we saw some set up for it. Are you going to watch?

Happy Weekend my Beautiful Friends!!

xoxo

Looks like a great trip! I am a bit intimidated by the Vegas of today, but I did go several years ago. I think you packed just right!

  2. What an amazing trip! Every look you wore was perfection. You are so right that doing Vegas more than 2-3 days is too much. It's fun but exhausting!

  9. You were in my home town! Born and raised. I don't go to the Strip, too congested. But I'm glad you had fun. Next time you'll need to go to the less touristy spots. Love your outfits!

We always LOVE the show especially Circ shows, so I'll have to put it on our list. I'm so impressed you stayed up with the youngings. I couldn't do it, although with our recent move, I've seen later times than normal, haha.
I find the atmosphere in Vegas so overwhelming...the noise, the hustle and bustle. I'm like you--it's fine for a couple of days, but then I need peace and quiet.

  16. Vegas is one of our favorite places of all-time! We used to go every single year before we had kids. And I had to LOL when you said a week is way too long to be there because B and I always stayed for at LEAST a week every time we went. haha. We love that place.

  17. It was so fun to follow the highlights of your trip on IG. I have never been but I do think that a couple days would be more than enough: the lights and sounds would be too much after a couple of days.

  18. This looked like such a fun trip and just enough time to be in Vegas. I feel the same way about it. We're not into gambling but we like the restaurants, shows and people watching. My favorite Cirque show is LOVE in Las Vegas and I'd see that one again! I'm excited to see a show at the Sphere sometime. Thanks for sharing your trip!
