FRIDAY FAVORITES...HELLO SEPTEMBER AND BOOTS

Hello Beautiful September!

You are here along with the long weekend! And whew, what a week it has been; so many appointments from dentist to vet to Botox, lol! This month ushers in the slow transitions of my beautiful posies to marvelous mums and pretty pumpkins! And I’m here for it all! Now, let’s talk favorites!!

1. Last Weekend

Last weekend was such a fun one! Friday, I enjoyed a day with my dear friend Kim celebrating our local cheese queen Erica at her local business birthday party! There was everything there from the "cheese" cake to of course charcuterie to mimosas to creating your own flower bouquet lots of gift ideas, cute cards, and clothes as well! We then have the most spectacular strawberry spinach salad for lunch and of course did a little more shopping.

Saturday we attended a friend’s surprise party at a local

Restaurant we’d never been too and went out for cocktails after, wish I would’ve got more pictures.

2. Oh the BOOTS

And can we talk the embellishment on these beautiful water resistant Marmi Vaneli boots called the Zinnia! Impeccable craftsmanship on these as well and oh so cute. To be honest I never really liked the lug style boots but these elevate the game and made me fall in love! More on Marmi boots to come in the upcoming months as well.

3. Stella and Let's go Irish!!

Well you knew it was a given that Miss Stella would have some Notre Dame attire. Now she just needs a blue and gold bow! Notre Dame kicks off the season at 7:30 Saturday night!

FRIDAY FAVORITES...SUNFLOWER EDITION

Anybody else have a hard time getting it in gear this week? I sure have! I am excited about our day trip to a couple college campuses tomorrow to get grad photos. This is been a long time coming and the campuses should be pretty empty but because college towns are hotspots, we are not eating out anywhere and will pack a cooler for drinks. Let’s get to a rejuvenating weekend so that next week will be better than this one!

1. Sunflower Field

Last September, my mom and I went to a local sunflower field for the first time and got some photos. Our kids were excited to get some photos with professional photographer friends and I tagged along and had the kids take a few pictures of ole mom! I was telling them; the funny thing is this first season of blooms is only a third of the size of how tall they are when they bloom in September. I can’t wait to go back. But I do love how these pictures turned out!

2. All-American

It seems like these days, Mr. Nine and I are having a hard time finding a TV series to binge that we are enamored with! Most of the ones we’ve watched lately have been just so so and don’t always keep my attention. Enter this CW show That we’ve been watching on Netflix called All American! It’s loosely based on a true story, very relevant to present day and we love it! I don’t know what it is that’s why I always love these shows resolve revolving around high schoolers, LOL! There’s been two seasons released so far with 16 episodes a season and the great thing is season 3 comes out in October.

J.Crew has been having a killer summer sale and I have loved all the pieces I’ve gotten from them. Sharing some of my favorites.

4. Boho Outfit and YES....BOOTS

I know kids, it’s too hot to think about boots. But I am always thinking ahead to the next season and of course contemplating my porch pumpkins! These BOOTS from the Mint Julep Boutique are just too good not to share because there’s such a great price and as good as any that you get in July at the Nordstrom sale! But little did I know, the Nordstrom sale is postponed until next month and many of y’all are saying you’re secretly happy about that because who wants to buy sweaters and boots in July, LOL! And the boots look so cute with the dress!

Flowers
My flowers bring me joy. Just a sampling here of the front porch, just look at those coleuses and petunias!

And I have been cutting the snowball hydrangeas and bringing them in the house! Perfect vase flowers and they last about 10 days.

FRIDAY FAVORITES...POLKA DOT EDITION

I don’t want July to go! This past week has been picture perfect weather in our neck of the woods and I want it to hang around! Usually around now, my mind kind of starts to wonder to Fall but I’m really enjoying soaking up the summer! I got to experience one of my favorite things of summer this week which was the heirloom tomato bruschetta at a local Italian joint called Venturi. I had missed out on it last year, so it was worth the two-year wait!

1. Polka Dot Wedges

The polka dot shoes in the title picture up there are a huge re-pin on Pinterest. So, I thought it be fun to find a few more pairs and I am in love! They are all so stinking cute and many of them are on sale for half off this time of year! With lots of summer yet to go, this is a good time to buy sandals!

OK, OK, I admit in my top paragraph, I did mention that I didn’t really have Fall on the brain yet but because of Blogger peer pressure, I did succumb to the Nordstrom sale by buying two different boots that I think are winners! I had to share them as I think you’ll see similar styles to both a lot this season. I’ve also linked up some other options and some less expensive options. I love the pointed toe of the tall suede ones and I’m so excited to pair the snakeskin ones with lots of blush pink!

4. POLKA DOT RUFFLE SHORTS

How cute are these polka dot shorts? Throw in a ruffle hem and pockets, and I’m totally sold! I just love the bowtie waist as well! Easy to dress up or down, I chose a simple black tee and some heels for one of our dinners on vacation! They look super cute with flats too.

I could not resist a beautiful summer day ice cream lunch! I timed my trip to the town where this fabulous ice cream shop is, one of the best in the country, right at the time they were opening, and I enjoyed every second of that lemon sugar cone!

I love wrapping gifts and precious gift bags and this one stopped me in my tracks at Target! I felt like it was my inner girl right there on the bag!
