MATCHA GREEN TEA LATTE

You asked for it so here it is. Share a Matcha Green Tea latte with me as I tell you how I make mine for today’s Tasty Tuesday.
There is something so calming and soothing about a hot cup of tea. What makes these Matcha tea lattes even better than a regular cup of tea is matcha powder has more antioxidants in it than blueberries, açaí and broccoli combined.
Yum

My first encounter with the green tea goodness was a few years back with the green tea frappe from Starbucks. However, as I read more about it, I realized that there were ways you could make it so much healthier. It wasn’t until the coveted Milk Frothier that I’ve talked about before HERE that I got the notion to make these lattes at home...and often. In my afternoon or evening oasis curled up with a good book, this rich antioxidant goodness is so soothing and yes, sometimes cookie accompanies it.

What you'll need

So here is how I usually make myself mine, 5 easy minutes totally worth your time for the end result! Put this powder in muffins, pancakes smoothies and so much more. One thing I’ve found is Matcha powders are not made equal. Make sure you buy the Classic Culinary Grade. (Buy Here)

Blended a Tablespoon of hot tap water into the 1 teaspoon of Matcha Powder, pie that mixture into your mug.

Microwave the milk in 30 second intervals stirring after each for a total of 90 seconds. Use your frothier to mix until very foamy and frothy.

Pour into mug and stir well. Stir in 1 teaspoon of honey and top with cinnamon if desired. I usually stir in the cinnamon well. Enjoy!

  2. I want to like hot tea, but just can't actually do it. (I like the idea of it but haven't found a tea I actually like!) This looks delicious though, so maybe I need to give it a try! All those antioxidants and the coziness of it makes me really want some!

  13. I am always all about healthier drinks, because there are a lot of unhealthy drinks (anything at Starbucks practically that I like! lol!) that tempt me! I do love tea, but I've never ever used matcha powder! I'm going to have to try this! I have a milk frother and isn't it just the funnest thing? I love using it and drinking the delicious froth after! So much fun!

  30. I totally forgot about the matcha powder until this post. I remembered when you talked about it before I thought I should try it. So when you put it in recipes does it affect/alter the taste? Does the latte taste like green tea with milk? I guess I can buy it and if I don't like it, I'll just send it to you. Winner-winner! Thanks for sharing and I pinned it😉 XOXO
