BRIE, CHICKEN SAUSAGE, & GREEN APPLE FLATBREAD

Well, the Rocky River Tap and Grill have got my creative cooking juices flowing again with their inspirations. Awhile back I replicated their Brie and Bacon Jam Dip and it was a huge it. This time, I wanted to try a take on one of their delicious flatbreads. I am so in love with chicken and turkey sausages and was so excited to use one on this Flatbread.
Can you believe I had never created anything with Naan bread before? What I thought was being a mistake getting the roasted garlic flavor instead of plain ending up being a good thing because the roasted garlic was delicious with these toppings.
Yum

I truly felt it tasted better than the restaurants. A son said mine looked better too and had thicker apple pieces. I’m thinking I have found the perfect “on the patio” light summer meal.

What You'll Need

BRIE, CHICKEN SAUSAGE & GREEN APPLE FLATBREAD
INGREDIENTS
1 package Naan flatbread (2 pieces)
1 tsp olive oil plus some for brushing on bread
2 chicken sausage links, casings removed and crumbled
1 small tub spreadable Brie cheese
1 Granny Smith Apple
Spinach leaves, (a handful) cut small or torn
1/8 tsp ground pepper

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small skillet with the 1 tsp olive oil, cooked crumbled sausage with the ground pepper until just browned.  Prepare flatbread as directed, remove from oven and brush with olive oil. Bake 2 minutes and remove from oven. Spread flatbreads with Brie, then top with crumbled sausage, bake an additional 5 minutes. Remove and top with Apple slices and spinach. Serve immediately. You may want to double this recipe for your family. This recipe just served 2.

What about you, do restaurant dishes inspire you in the kitchen?

  19. This looks heavenly! I've been buying the "big pack" of Aidelle's Chicken Apple sausage at Costco and I love naan (which I just walk right by since I try to curb the carbs somewhat...and not very successfully😉) Anyway, I didn't even know naan came in flavors. Good heavens! Do you know if you can remove the casing on the Aidelle's and crumble? I've never thought about doing that, but what a great idea. Another winner my friend!!! XO
