Warm weather graced us in the beginning of the week and yes, I got in the pool again! They will be closing it on Monday and I’m going to miss it.
Lots of goodness happened this week and my mom and I peeled 15 pounds of apples for yummy homemade applesauce! I LOVE OCTOBER!!
1. Wedding FUN
Oh, my goodness what a fun wedding last Saturday! It was held on an estate in the town I was born in up in Michigan! The couple that got married both work with Mr. Nine, are about our age, have grown children and they have been dating for 14 years. It was really special and a band that I used to listen to way back in my early 20s played fabulous classic rock! I mean we kind of are all classics now especially the boys in the band, in their 70s!
2. Sweet Stella
Our sweet Stella finally got that silly cone off! She got cleared at the vet this week and got treated to a spa day! And she turned 10 months old this week! Look at her in her pumpkin spice sweatshirt!
3. Teddy Blake
"Stella"
You read that right my friends, my latest Italian crafted leather bag from Teddy Blake is called the STELLA! I’ve been wanting this bag for a while now and the brown is the perfect color for Fall! As always, I have a fabulous 30% off code from Teddy Blake!!

Wouldn’t this make a great gift with the holidays coming up! I will be showing you how I’m going to style it very soon!
I can’t believe I keep forgetting to share this because it’s one of my favorite target finds the season! These two ribbed sweater pieces coming in several colors both came home with Kellyann and I when she visited last month.

POOL IN OCTOBER
Got in it twice at the beginning of the week and it felt so good! Unfortunately pool wise , Fall is really here now but I’m OK with it, lol.
HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE
Here is some of that applesauce that mom and I made on Wednesday. Many of you have asked me for the recipe. I’ve shared it on the blog before but here it is again, my favorite and so yummy!
HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE
INGREDIENTS
6lbs apples, peeled and cored
2 cups apple cider
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons white sugar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
Bring the apples and all the ingredients to a boil and turn down to a low simmer, cover and cook for about 25 to 30 minutes. You can mash them right in the stock pot or pour into a bowl to mash. We save a couple containers in the fridge and freeze the rest; it makes about 12 servings.
*Favorite Applesauce apples are Jonagold or mix McIntosh and Golden Delicious.

The wedding sounds like a blast! I am sure it is sad to shut down the pool, but it had a nice long run this year. And Stella's ghost bows!!!!! Have a great weekend, Andrea.
ReplyDeleteOctober is such a mix of temperatures! The wedding sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteThat sounded like such a special wedding!! How fun!! Loving all the fall everything. Homemade applesauce...I need to make some!
ReplyDeleteI love Stella's pumpkin spice sweater! SO cute! And I think I need those ghost clips for my kids! I've been making applesauce too. Sometimes I don't even peel them, just use the blender afterwards to save some time!
ReplyDeleteYou looked spectacular at that wedding! The mister looked very nice too. Stella looks SO CUTE in her little sweatshirt and after she got groomed. I remember you telling that you thought that you were going to get that bag from TB! It looks so nice in that color and we can wear our Stella bags together some day! Have a glorious weekend my friend! XO

DeleteI love that red dress! That ruffle hem is perfection! You look lovely in it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun wedding! Love the sweater set and how wonderful to swim in October. The water is still warm enough to swim here, but we will get a cool front next week and that will be the end of swimming season. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with everyone on what a fun wedding you both attended. I love how cute little Stella is and I can't believe that she is almost 1! The homemade applesauce looks and sounds delicious and just perfect to go with fall meals. Happy Friday and weekend.

That's the one thing I miss about having our own apple trees...making applesauce. We used to make it in the crock pot and the smell was always the best.

The wedding sounds like so much fun and that red dress is fabulous on you. I ordered that same sweater set from Target and while I think it feels so comfortable I do not like how it looks on me so I'm returning it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in that red dress! It looks like a fun wedding! Love Stella's sweatshirt!
