FRIDAY FAVORITES...USA EDITION

Did someone just say Memorial Day and the end of May is next weekend? And per usual unpredictability, Indiana went right from winter to summer this week with almost 90° temps!

1. Sunday Funday

We were not in the 90’s quite yet last weekend but that didn’t stop Mr. Nine and I from getting in the pool at 72° air temp. Thank goodness for the heater. My Mr. Nine has had quite a lot on his mind these past couple weeks and he needed that relaxation!

We even talked about maybe having an 80’s themed dance party this summer!

2. Rituals

I love getting new body creams, shower gel and body scrubs. Rituals offers the best smelling, luxurious products at such a great price point! The packaging is gorgeous, and the scent of The Ritual of Karma line is Holy Lotus and Organic White Tea. It is so refreshing, and they have great gift sets too.

3. Week's Attire

These first two I purchased from two great lines at Walmart and are absolutely adorable! Would make perfect outfits for Memorial Day and the 4th!! Wal-Mart delivers in 2 days!!

4. USA Americana Look

The Blue Heron that comes to the pond every spring and summer never ceases to amaze me! I start snapping away and I’m always happy when I can get a picture of him in flight!

DAISIES
Last Fall, my mom told me about a new proven winner perennial that she knew I would want to have. They are called Daisy Mae just like our beloved doggie that passed away two summers ago. I have always loved daisies and they already have so many blooms on them!

GEESE FAMILY

Have you ever heard a Goose hiss? They are fierce protectors of their babies, which I love. We have a couple sets of geese families around the pond and they protect their babies so well, always hissing at me when I walk by. I told them to “relax I’m not going to hurt their precious babies!”

FRIDAY FAVORITES...HASTA LA VISTA JANUARY

Well, it’s safe to say the week didn’t necessarily start out great when you’re blocked for four days on Instagram for doing nothing but leaving a comment! Obviously, they were in error and when Instagram is part of your work for your blog brand, it sucks. And please my dear friends, if I didn’t return a comment or comment on your post, I am truly sorry! However, on an up note, not being on Insta was alas refreshing and I got to enjoy a 3 1/2 hour brunch on Tuesday with my dear friend Connie! I am not even going to go into why this was such a yucky month because I think the whole week just had a sad cloud over it because of the loss of legend Kobe Bryant and his beautiful daughter! All nine people on that helicopter were amazing and it was just such a tragedy. All tragedies are sad and matter but because Kobe was such a prominent figure and such an inspiration to so many people, his platform can move forward even in death. And I hope everyone has hugged their loved ones a little tighter.

1. Last Minute Day Date

Day Dates are always a good thing and sometimes even better when they’re last minute. We didn’t really have anything going on this past weekend and Mr. Nine said let’s go to Chicago, but I didn’t think he was serious so I kind of blew him off and then a little while later he hollered at me to go get a late lunch. At the last minute, he changed his mind where we would be going, and we took a little trek an hour and 20 minutes north to one of our favorite breweries. Little did we know, it was their 12th anniversary and they were offering free fries, yes! We also happened to drive right by Trader Joe’s so Mr. Nine indulged me in a quick stop and stock up!

2. The INKEY List Skincare
I talked about this amazing skin care on my Instagram stories last week and I just want to mention it here on the blog because the price point is so dang good! I first heard about the skin care line, The Inkey List, when my blog friends and I were on Windy City Live in December and I immediately ordered some from Sephora. All their single products are under $10 and so far, I’ve tried the Hyaluronic Acid, the Caffeine Eye Cream and the Retinol. I absolutely love all three. Sephora said they can’t keep the caffeine eye cream in stock, it’s that good! And these products are all part of the Clean at Sephora products with only clean ingredients.

Can you believe this is the first time I wore this beautiful blush color Moto jacket out in public? I remember showing it to you in the Maurice’s dressing room a few months ago and I can’t believe I wasn’t wearing it until now. It goes with my snakeskin booties so well.

My Mr. Nine saw these on Vneyard Vines Instagram page and immediately said there’s Annie right there, she could create this look up on vacation this summer at the beach. I thought that was the sweetest thing and when we found out that this collection drops at Vineyard Vines on February 24, Mr. Nine even told Alexa to remind us, LOL!

1. SASSY CAT and CAT STORY
I Absolutely bust out laughing every time I see this kitty funny. Cracks me up! Even a little gold fish in the martini glass. Which takes be back to a story from 20 years ago this very week.... (yes, sometimes my memory is tops)...

Here is the crazy thing about my cat story, the kitchen this occurred in looked EXACTLY like this one. A lady I worked with and her husband were going out of town so she asked me to come over and feed her cats. I thought by her stories that she had 4 or 5 so I figured, I love animals, I got this. I turned the key and saw ONE cat on the chair and thought aww, the others are shy, they must be hiding. I went to the cabinet where the food was stored and it was a new bag so when I went to pull it open......2 DOZEN, yes, TWO DOZEN CATS pounced onto the kitchen counter top for their food. They were hissing and clawing and I Freaked. I put the whole bag of food in the biggest bowl I could find and high tailed it outta there. She forgave me for wanting to never come back and I "think" I forgave her for failing to tell me she had 24 cats!!!

2. CHRISTMAS LAMP

I have so much Christmas Decor. However, each year around this time, I feel the need to purchase a ~~couple~~ 10 more things for my holiday decor collection. This 2 feet tall battery/timer lamppost will be perfect for one of my console tables. The check out girl at TJ Maxx even complimented how cute it was.
