Don't be Blue, Summer may be coming into it's Dog Days...but Glorious Fall is coming dear friends!! The season of Love and pumpkin and vests and hot drinks and well, I could go on and on. Right now let's focus on soaking up those last precious days. For me, its relishing in time before my boys scatter and I go into "Back to School" depression. At least I have baby boy and the Fighting Irish to keep me focused on all things football and picking out new house decor..whoohoo..speaking of, what are your thoughts on......
1. A Navy or Grey Kitchen Island? Help!
On Wednesday I showed you some decor and that I'm accenting in some blues and navy. Now is where i need your help...A Navy or Gray island. The rest of the cabinets are white but I want the island to be grey or navy. What do you think? I know you all have great taste so give me your thoughts!

My initial reaction was gray just because I love gray, but I think a navy island would be awesome! It would really pop. I need some new work clothes. Starting today actually ha. I need to get dressed for non-summer/non-coaching for the first time today in months & I don't really know what to wear! I'm excited for Monday's prompts!
ReplyDeleteI like the navy. Great post.

Good morning, sister. You are so flaming HOT in that black and white! I have been getting in football mode myself with ESPN on at all times. I hope your Irish can do something this year. I think they took last year off considering my alma mater beat them - that was a wait what moment! How in the heck did I miss Wednesday's post? You know all things home/house are up my alley. So I'm headed to Wednesday's post RIGHT NOW! XOXO Love you sweetie!
ReplyDeleteYes, back to school depression is a real thing for us, we need something good to focus on! I think you should go with the navy blue island - everyone is doing grey and the blue makes a statement. You know what else? If you tire of it in a few years it can be repainted, my sister is an interior designer and she is using lots of navy lately along with grey. We are getting ready to have her remodel our kitchen so we've been looking at all things kitchen lately, it's so overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those gingham pumps, you are one hot mama!!! So cool too that Nordstrom commented on your tweet!!!! Woo hoo!
Have a marvelous weekend sweet friend!
xo,
Kellyann
I have been thinking a lot about kitchen stuff myself. I have even debated open shelving or different color for upper and lower cabinets too. I am going to say gray simply because I don't feel like I would ever get tired of it. I try to think of things like that. Not only what do I like now, but what will I think in 10 years. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI loooooove both island colors! I would probably go gray so you can change the accent color if you want. Navy to yellow to teal and on and on. I can't wait to see what you decide! I'd probably lose my mind making all of these choices but I am having fun living vicariously through you! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBlue island all of the way! Granted, I am a bit of a traditionalist, but I think the blue is gorgeous and my mom just did one in her house that looks great. Love a good reno! Also love your white top! Hope you have a great weekend! XO
ReplyDeleteI love both colors but I would probably go with gray. Then I would add navy and white decor. ha. That probably would be a bit much but in my head I think it would look good. haha. Ok, love love that outfit on you. Where is that white top from? I have been on the hunt for a white top like that. Oh I'm so excited for TBB Asks. Gonna be so much fun.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm I'm feeling gray...but I love gray everything!
ReplyDeletea navy island would look amazing!! but I'm also love the grey~ Hard decision to make~ Love that bracelet from the #NSale!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I think navy the navy would be good if you plan on doing stools. Otherwise, based on the picture it's a little too much of a focal point. The stools would break it up! So overall I like the gray better.
ReplyDeleteOh man. That's a tough choice on the cabinets! I think I would go with grey, it will be a nice contrast with the white. So many fun details to pick out with a new house. Can't wait to hear about more! Have a wonderful weekend, Andrea!

A Blonde's Moment
navy :)
ReplyDeleteWe just redid our kitchen, I had the same dilemma..I chose Navy Lowers and White Uppers...I love it! I think either will look nice.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! Oh that is such a tough call with the kitchen. I always say I want grey and white for my next kitchen but I do love the pop of color from the navy. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I am loving your black and white outfit options. I need more white shirts in my life, just not around the boys lol. Have the best weekend!! Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't think you would get tired of the blue, I would go navy. If you are someone who likes to switch it up I'd go gray. With the gray you can always change your accent colors with paint, wall art, accessories. But...I'm still partial to the blue.
ReplyDeleteI love your black and white combo and I've got one on similar today! The blue or gray...that's a TOUGH? one. They're both so beautiful. How about a blue/gray? I just love all the blue and gray (and other colored) cabinets that are so hot right now. Whatever you choose, I know it will be so beautiful!!! Repeat after me...I will not get depressed when my kids leave. Now, we just have to keep saying it until we believe it😬. Happy Friday my gorgeous friend!
ReplyDeleteI probably would have said grey but after seeing your pictures I don't know. I like both so I am no help. You know I love a good black and white!

Gosh, my initial thought was going to be gray all the way, but after looking at all of those pictrues of the navy island, I think that would be really cool, too! Personally for me, gray would go better with our decor, so if it were me building I would do the gray. However, if your decor will go well with navy, I would choose the navy!
ReplyDeleteI love navy and having a navy kitchen island would be a dream of mine !!! Go NAVY !!
ReplyDeleteThose gingham wedges are amazing ! Happy Friday Andrea !
I LOVE navy, but I think it's kind of trendy (maybe that's just me?!) so I would probably go dark grey! I love both though :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome tewwt reply from Nordy! I vote navy! My man has the gray and it is just too gray with all the white, my sister has the navy and I like it way better. But whatever you choose, it will be beautiful because it is a brand new kitchen! Have a smashing weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I have never even considered a navy island before, it is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I would love to see it in someone elses' kitchen but if I am being 1000% honest...if it were in my kitchen...I would want grey. I dont think that you can go wrong with either though. Sometimes grey can look blue so ahhhh I dont know?? That bracelet is absolutely gorgeous! Love the little sparkly. Clearly I need to hop on that! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh my, we're going to have the same kitchen......I was toying with blue, so obviously that's my vote...but I have now shifted to a purpley shade for mine. Have a fantastic weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love the navy island but I think it's a little trendy. If you went with the gray, you could change up your decor since gray is a neutral but you would be limited with the navy. You can still incorporate navy accents with a gray island!
ReplyDeleteSarah at MeetTheShaneyfelts
I vote for a gray island. :o))
ReplyDeleteAnd, I have sooooo much black and white in my closet. I seem to gravitate to it and I do love it.
I'm participating in the link up on Monday and so enjoy links like this.
Happy weekend cutie pie!!!!
That navy island !! Swoon!
ReplyDeleteGrey is so popular right now, so I was leaning toward that. But navy would be unique and more of a powerful pop of color. That's so cool that you got a shout out from Nordstrom! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love both navy and gray! I feel like navy lends itself to being more nautical, so if you want a beachy vibe, then go that way. Gray is very classic- I think either way you've got a good kitchen! I'm looking forward to your Monday linkup! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLooking gorgeous in that black and white, but oh those gingham shoes ... Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAs you seem to be drawn towards navy accessories for your new home, navy seems the answer, completing a nice flow through the house. Have you checked out Janet's kitchen makeover for a friend on The Gardener's Cottage?
I love blue and my kitchen walls are even blue so I'd have to say navy all the way!
ReplyDeleteGray!
ReplyDeleteLove the gray and white kitchen inspiration! So my style...I have the same floral top from Kohl's except with 3/4 sleeves and funny enough I wore it to work last week! Have a great weekend pretty lady! xo Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis
ReplyDeleteI love the look of a navy island but those greys are also amazing! Black and white will forever be the best color combo! I hope you have an amazing weekend and enjoy every last second of having your boys home!
ReplyDeleteI vote navy but you know me and my love for all things coastal.
ReplyDeleteSo many things I love about this post! I'm torn about your island. I'm a Kentucky girl and we always say blue goes with everything but I do love the gray. I personally think you should go gray. I love the link up questions for Monday and may just do a post! Finally, the final quote about August being the Sunday of Summer is perfect. Hope it's been a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteBoth are so, so pretty, but I think I love the gray. We just ordered gray for our cabinets, and white for our island, so I do love that combo!! :)
ReplyDeleteGrey, grey, grey! and I love me a good black and white look!
ReplyDeleteI really like the grey!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I can't decide, I love navy and grey!!! but I think I like the grey just a little more. Either way, your kitchen is going to be AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteYou look tres chic in black and white! I probably would go with grey...although navy is classic...glad it's your decision...ha! xoxo
