TGIF peeps. Thank goodness it is here. Ahhh, we bid January goodbye and good riddance. Oddly enough last Saturday was 60 some degrees and people came out of their hibernation like bears looking for honey. Yet, now, the next 4 days call for snow. I'm good with that as our sweet Daisy May turns 12 on Sunday and that doggie loves her some snow. Plus it just means another cozy weekend as before you know it, the busy hustle and bustle of the spring will arrive and we may miss these snuggly weekends. Enjoy loves!
1. My Boss was Elvis
Today is a sad day, my boss, who was not only a boss, but a brother and a friend is retiring. This guy worked for our company for three+ decades and I had the honor of working under him for 17 years. He loved to impersonate Elvis and often would for events like this company's picnic. Our place of employment used to be so fun and I often helped plan the shindigs. His leadership, friendship and grace will truly be missed.

2. This Quote
This has always been one of my favorite quotes. Yesterday I gave my retiring boss a journal with this very quote on the front. I think it sums up life perfectly. Live for those moments that take your breath away and don't let them pass you by.

4. Not Wearing a Coat
While I have many darling coats, sometimes you just don't want to wear one especially when it is 50 degrees and normal temps are suppose to be 20. Throw on a few layers, an infinity scarf and good to go for a Saturday casual day. However forecast indicates highs in the 20's the next several days so may pull the coats back out.

Have a GREAT weekend friends. Snuggle up, watch what you love; get lost in reading, your man, your fam, or a recipe. No matter what, do what makes you smile!!

You always look so precious! I am with you with no coats! As cute as they are they can be a pain! HA
ReplyDeleteYour boss looks like he would be so much fun!
Hope you guys have a great weekend!
I am so cold natured that literally after the temp drops below 70 I must wear a coat. Isn't that depressing? I hope Daisy enjoys her snow. When good bosses retire or move on it really makes your heart ache. I caught on to that "work used to be fun" (paraphrased) I'm sorry girl - I know how that goes too. Enjoy your weekend and I am heavily eyeballing that recipe!!! xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to put away the big coats for lighter wear in Spring! That egg roll boll looks amazing!! And that picture of your boss is amazing, but girl look at you!! So so pretty! Happy weekend! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

I just saw a recipe for egg rolls in a bowl and was thinking about making it for dinner next week. Sounds so good! And yes, it has been SO nice not wearing a coat. I even had the windows open at home on Wednesday because it was in the 60s! Unfortunately, it was cold this morning and they are saying flurries this afternoon?! I'm ready for spring! Have a great weekend, Andrea!

I'm am with you. Good riddance, January! Blah! I need a little sun to perk me up, this winter is dragging on. Oh well. There is hope and that 60 degree day reminded me that spring is coming. It has been nice having a few days where just throwing on a sweater was enough to run and errand or two. All of these are so cute! Have a superb weekend!

ReplyDeleteWhat a mix of emotions that your boss is retiring. I know I would be so happy for my boss, but also so sad to see him go. And goodbye January...Mama needs some sunshine! Hahaha! I would even take 30 degrees and just sunshine. I am ready to start the transition into spring :) February around here usually means the weather warms up between 30-40 and at least there is sunshine. Happy weekend beautiful!
