FRIDAY FAVORITES SEDONA ARIZONA EDITION

It went something like this. I cannot wait to lay by the pool and wear all my sundresses and tank tops! To: “Honey, we need to find an outdoor store and buy a beanie and gloves. I’m glad I brought a winter coat and how is it colder in Arizona than it is in Indiana?”

That’s right, my friends, it seems like every time Mr. Nine and I go on a Spring trip, the state/country has something unseasonable happening. Remember Paris? Pretty much the same with Sedona, temperatures 30° under normal and snow on April 2, my birthday! There was no pool time, there was no sundresses alone unless it was for a quick pic before I threw a coat over, but the temperatures were perfect for us to hike. And that’s how we roll, we always find a silver lining and despite wanting warmth, our hearts sure were warmed to Sedona and the wonderful time we had. So much goodness to share about Sedona here for Friday favorites!

First off, I had to laugh, the left is what I should’ve been wearing/using most often to the right of what I actually wore most! Lol.

Ambiente

Hands down, the best customer service ever in the history of vacation stays! Such a unique place. Just 2 years old, Ambiente Sedona, developed by a sweet family, you stay in one of 41 individual atriums! Just gorgeous! They cater to your every whim, the grounds are stunning, there are star gazing beds and fire outs on the roof and there is a trail head right by the resort! They also will take you anywhere in town you need to go! Too many awesome things to mention so I will say just book it!

Of course, arrival champagne!

The Food

Mr. Nine and I have been on many vacations where the food is not always amazing. Maybe you’ll have a great meal, and then the next one is terrible but here, ever.single.meal was out of this world! Ranking our top 3 in order and linking to them for you. All 3 a MUST in Sedona!

1. Elote Cafe

2. Dahl and Di Luca

3. Forty1

Skillet Corn Cake with Dulce de Leche and Homemade Vanilla Ice cream
and sweet corn kernels..oh my

Grand Canyon

We planned a day trip to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The drive itself is worth it (about 2hrs) and we even hit a white out.

It was cold but wow, how majestic and cool to see. Oh but had a pit stop at a tire place for a patch as a screw got in the tire of our rental. Have you been?

Hikes

We love to hike. Before the sleet and snow came in on my birthday we got in a beautiful hike on the Adobe Jack trailhead by our resort. Look at those views!

We even did a Sunrise Hike

But our favorite was the hike to Devil’s Bridge. WOW! Now this is an intermediate trail and the last part up to the bridge is basically rock climbing, so the end is challenging but soooo worth it (I didn’t know ahead of time that 2 ladies in their 50’s had fallen to their death there). Anywho we made it, but I was so scared to go out on the bridge. It looked frightening. BUT after I accomplished that hike, I HAD too! A sweet lady was taking everyone’s photo out there as her daughter was behind us in the line to go out there.

Little did we know she had taken video too and we were so grateful! AMAZING VIEWS!

Incredible! Fear Conquered!

What I Wore

Took off my coat long enough for quick photos and the green, my favorite, was my birthday night dress.

Time with Mr. Nine

Even though we see each other every day, I feel like we had not gotten as much quality time together lately! This trip was that sweet time we needed and Mr. Nine is the magic that makes these trips possible.

We LOVE to Cheers!!

Hummingbird Story

My mama and I love hummingbirds especially because they remind us of my grandma as she always had so many and adored them. The weather was bleak, but we were walking back on the path on my birthday and lo and behold, a hummingbird flew from a juniper tree in front of us to another tree. We never saw one again. I believe it was my grandma saying Happy Birthday!

Extra precious was our arrival him. My mama had dropped off Stella and left not only, gifts, a balloon and tulips but also my annual key lime pie (recipe ) and a pop-up Hummingbird card!

Sedona, we will be back!!

Have a BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND!!

MISSING THE CAYMAN ISLANDS

It is officially Spring Break kids and Mr. Nine and I are home while 2 of our children are scattered amongst the country. So you can only guess, not only am I missing them, but I am missing the Cayman Islands BIG TIME. Not only because we has SNOW here this weekend and more to come this week, but It was one of the BEST vacations EVER, so to reminise and show you some fun to partake in if you ever take a trip there...Cheers to Spring Break and great vacays!!

The Cotton Candy Martini
Isn't this the coolest thing!! Our server poured the cocktail part in and it was just as beautiful a color, but even tastier than you can image. Do you think the server will look at me funny when we go to Chili's here in Indiana and I ask for one??

Date night while the boys stayed at the condo and had subway and rum cakes.

Rum Point and the Mudslides
Rum Point is a fun little place to go on the North side of the island where people hang out, swim, water sports, etc. It was a fun jeep ride there and they are known for their frozen concoctions, namely MUDSLIDES. They did not disappoint!

SOOO many great cocktails

Casanova By The Sea
and the Cannoli
This Italian restaurant right on the water in Georgetown was spectacular! The view, the wine, the desserts!!!! The boys were amazed how the waiters snapped the white napkins to lay on our laps. The caprese salad was to die for but the cannoli~out of this world! Great thing about this vacation~every meal we had was amazing!!!

 Sunset Cruise to Stingray City
We boarded a catamaran and headed out to a sandbar area 4 miles offshore where wild stingrays swim with you. Our sons tried to catch em' but they are slippery little guys.
Super cool experience and loved cruising back and watching the beautiful sunset.

 Not Losing THE 6 Pack
Our boys are really in to keeping fit and their adored 6 pack abs.
Nice team work here doing sit-ups in the pool. Our pool time was the BEST!

They Parasailed, snorkeled, jet skied......met girls...you know, teen guy stuff...

The VIEW from Our Amazing Condo
We really had a beautiful place to stay on the Island's famous Seven Mile Beach. Often we had the whole pool and beach to ourselves. The 4 bedroom condo had everything we could ask for. The boys favorite spot was the media room and mine, the balcony for morning coffee and this beautiful chaise lounge in the master bedroom. Nothing could beat the view and if we ever go back, the Seabreeze it is! HERE

SPENDING TIME & MAKING MEMORIES WITH THESE GUYS!!
We know that one day family vacations for the 5 of us may not be possible and Spring Breaks are now no more. How blessed are we to have enjoyed this trip with our 3 handsome and fun sons. It's really cool to go on vacation with your family, experience new things and see it through their eyes. These memories are priceless and oh, so precious!!

What are some of your favorite vacations with your loved ones?
Have an amazing week my friends and go make some memories!!
