FRIDAY FAVORITES...BIRTHDAY WEEKEND EDITION

It's my Birthday tomorrow!! It's been somewhat overshadowed this week by worry. Oh worrying is wrong, I know it is but I can't help it. Our two oldest leave today for Spring Break to different destinations...worry. My mom is 5 hrs away for my precious grandmas last days....worry. I'm going to Let Go and Let God. I'll pray for peace. Sweet Mr. Nine is taking me and our youngest to Chicago tomorrow so maybe a little retail therapy and a great dinner will diminish some worries. Oh and I'm going to try Eggs Benedict for the first time at brunch on Sunday.
In the meantime, here are some fun Friday Birthday Favs....

1. My Favorite Cocktail: KEY LIME MARTINI
It's no secret I have mentioned my go to cocktail of choice is a Key Lime Martini. So what better Cocktail to share on the Friday Favorites than my beloved martini.
37th Birthday

Key Lime Martini~My Favorite Recipe
1/2 fluid ounce vanilla-flavored vodka (such as Stoli®)
1/2 fluid ounce key lime juice (Rose's is the best)
1/2 fluid ounce simple syrup
1/2 fluid ounce half-and-half
Put enough ice cubes into a cocktail shaker to be about 3/4 full. Pour vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, and half-and-half over ice cubes, shake, and strain into a graham cracker lined martini glass.

2. Key Lime Pie, (April 3rd)  and Me (April 2nd)
I obviously like Key lime at B-Day time. My best friend and I have birthday's a day apart and we work together so one day this week we had a double party at work to celebrate. We have had a double party at work for the last 13 years. Since my mom works there as well, she always bring her amazing and the requested Key Lime Pie. My mom is down south with my ill grandma this year so the Pie will have to wait. Let me tell ya, it's worth the wait!!
I wrote about it with the Recipe Here

4. Wish List
I am one of those people that just gets super excited over gifts, even if it is just a pen or frisbee or coffee mug. Or when I was 8; a macrame bear hanger. I literally squeal with gift excitement and get just as excited when others open their gifts from me.

I'm super easy to buy for and these things would not hurt either, lol.

THINGS I'VE GOOGLED THIS WEEK

What did we ever do before Goggle? Encyclopedia Brittanica anyone? I was just telling my teens how the Encyclopedia was the best plethora of information back in the day.  However, Google has changed my life. Sometimes I secretly think I'm the Queen of Goggle or literally own my own PI firm cause I can find anything and it makes me so happy. So it got me thinking just how often I actually Google something and it's like once an hour!!
Here are the 9 of the things I have actually googled this week:

1. Karen Walker Super Duper Sunglasses.
I have admired these on Blair Eadie, only the most famous fashion blogger in the world, who never writes a word, for like....ever. I can't decide if I like the look more or the name "super duper"? I do know that I could buy like 20 pairs at Kohl's in equivalent to these highly overpriced beauties but now that I just said it, I might like saying "How do you like my Highly overpriced Super Duper sunnies?"

2. How Tall are the Property Brothers?
Hubba Hubba, I love it when hubby watches these HGTV geniuses with me. Um Jonathan is 6' 4 1/2"  and so I never even looked up Drew's height. I mean they're twins and totally look the same height on TV, sounds logical.

3. Did Blake and Gwen spend the holidays together?
Yep, sure did, down home in Oklahoma and she even wore camo when they went to Dairy Queen. Super cute.

4. Local Mini Cupcake Shop
Graduation open house coming up...ok 5 months away....but dozens of cupcakes needed....flavor options?

Snickerdoodle or Red Velvet? Duh, both!! Maybe we'll even do 3 flavors, oh my!!

5. Leopard Accent Rugs
Need them, want them, gotta have them but cannot find one I love decently priced. Any ideas?

6. How many calories burned climbing 100 flights of stairs?
There's like this really cool formula. If I can do it in 30 minutes, it's like 385!! Woohoo 2 whole chocolate chip cookies burned!

Work stairs

7. Days of Our Lives Spoilers
After they took my beloved All My Children and One Life To Live off the air, (I cried) I vowed I would never watch another daytime soap again. However, friends introduced me to the town of Salem and I was hooked!! DVR, I love you!! Bye Bye Dr. Dan, what a bummer!

"Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives"

8. Bathroom Remodels
Gutting and redoing NOT 1 but 2 of our bathrooms this year. It's either that or build a new home. Mmmm....Lots to Google!!! And of course it'll knock out a couple posts ideas! Being a huge HGTV fan, I'm a sucker for before and afters!!

9. Is Han Solo really dead?
Spoiler Alert but I sooooo gotta know! Harrison Ford, I love you!! And until this particular Google, I thought your first name was Hans and not Han!!
