I have been reminiscing about childhood a lot recently. Man, those were the days; a non digital world, carefree and time, so much time. Fun meant being outside, scrapped knees from bike wrecks, Popsicles dripping down our chins and stress wasn't even a word on our radars yet. I often miss the 70's and 80's and sometimes even wish my kids had experienced our childhoods instead of the world we live in today. Here are some found remembrances of my childhood and the kid I was before double digits....

I WAS THE KIND OF KID WHO:
Washed her banana seat bike in the driveway like it was my Mercedes.
Put sponge rollers in my doll babies hair because if I had to endure sleeping in them, so did she.
I had one just like this..
Wore gingham, flowers in my hair & jewelry before age 5.
Mother/Daughter pics at Olan Mills were huge!

Got married at 5 to my Boy BFF, Ryan and my mom performed the ceremony. We got "married" at least once a week, lol
Lived for Saturday morning cartoons, favorites were The Smurfs, The Bugs Bunny/ RoadRunner Hour, Land of The Lost, Chip & Dale....(still watched in High School, only it was Pee Wee's Playhouse)
Organized all the neighborhood dodgeball games, fort building, and Tadpole catching adventures, etc... Type A ya know!
Mixed every perfume and powder my mom had and called it my "concoction."
Got, as my mom would say, "brown as a berry" with my tan every summer because I lived outside & played softball.
5th grade
Gave a one girl concert belting out tunes and dancing everyday in the dining room or on the driveway.
Lifted those swing set poles right outta the ground
Sent a letter to Family Feud host Richard Dawson begging to let my family be contestants. Yep, mom, dad, Aunt Linda, Cousin Jimmy and me. I even had planned out what we'd be wearing. Imagine that!!
Told my first grade class teacher that my mom just had a baby named Heather (lie) .....because I desperately wanted a sibling...Read my post on Being An Only Child called Only....So Lonely
Had "Collections" of everything: stickers, candles, key chains, rocks, etc (now it's shoes, lol)
