You asked for it so here it is. Share a Matcha Green Tea latte
with me as I tell you how I make mine for today’s Tasty Tuesday.
There is something so calming and soothing about a hot cup of tea.
What makes these Matcha tea lattes even better than a regular cup of tea is
matcha powder has more antioxidants in it than blueberries, açaí and broccoli
combined.

My first encounter with the green tea goodness was a few years
back with the green tea frappe from Starbucks. However, as I read more about
it, I realized that there were ways you could make it so much healthier. It
wasn’t until the coveted Milk Frothier that I’ve talked about before HERE that I got
the notion to make these lattes at home...and often. In my afternoon or evening
oasis curled up with a good book, this rich antioxidant goodness is so soothing
and yes, sometimes cookie accompanies it.
So here is how I usually make myself mine, 5 easy minutes totally worth your time for the end result! Put this powder in muffins, pancakes smoothies and so much more. One thing I’ve found is Matcha powders are not made equal. Make sure you buy the Classic Culinary Grade. (Buy Here)
Blended a Tablespoon of hot tap water into the 1 teaspoon of Matcha Powder, pie that mixture into your mug.
Microwave the milk in 30 second intervals stirring after each for a total of 90 seconds. Use your frothier to mix until very foamy and frothy.
honey pic
Pour into mug and stir well. Stir in 1 teaspoon of honey and top with cinnamon if desired. I usually stir in the cinnamon well. Enjoy!

I Love Green Tea! I need to try this!
ReplyDeleteI want to like hot tea, but just can't actually do it. (I like the idea of it but haven't found a tea I actually like!) This looks delicious though, so maybe I need to give it a try! All those antioxidants and the coziness of it makes me really want some!
ReplyDeleteThis looks yummy, I'm ordering the powder and the frothier now! Can't wait to try this, sounds like the perfect little drink for relaxing and it's better for me than wine, lol!!!

ReplyDeleteI used to have some matcha powder and then one day I had some with tea and I didn't feel well after, so I stopped using it!
ReplyDeleteI am always all about healthier drinks, because there are a lot of unhealthy drinks (anything at Starbucks practically that I like! lol!) that tempt me! I do love tea, but I've never ever used matcha powder! I'm going to have to try this! I have a milk frother and isn't it just the funnest thing? I love using it and drinking the delicious froth after! So much fun!

ReplyDeleteI reviewed some matcha recently and never thought to make a latte out of it. I need to do that. Plus that milk frother is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYum! I’ve been drinking a lot of tea lately but I still love my lattes and this seems like the best of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I have a frother at home (not this exact one), and we love it. It is nice to be able to make lattes.

ReplyDeleteNot sure If I'd like this, I'm siting drinking my traditional builders tead here in the UK. x Jacqui Mummabstylish
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! Pinned it to my Beverages board. Love green tea so will have to try this. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot about the matcha powder until this post. I remembered when you talked about it before I thought I should try it. So when you put it in recipes does it affect/alter the taste? Does the latte taste like green tea with milk? I guess I can buy it and if I don't like it, I'll just send it to you. Winner-winner! Thanks for sharing and I pinned it😉 XOXO
ReplyDeleteYou know I love a matcha tea! I'm still having one every night – but my favourite is with rice or almond milk. All creamy and yummy!
