Get out..it's September and just like that, Summer is fading as the summer of 2016 moves on to a memory. It's the perfect way to usher in September with a 3 day weekend! The evil Humidity trolls have finally seen the light and relented a bit in that weather category. I can actually walk outside without a butter knife to cut the air, lol. Kick-off and football food are in store this weekend.
Let's get this Holiday weekend started!!
Let's get this Holiday weekend started!!
1. Good Morning Peach Cobbler
My BFF, Miss Tami, had a warm from the oven Cobbler waiting for me on Wednesday morning at work. It is the easiest mix it together and bake it recipe and a cross between a Cobbler and a bread pudding. She knows I despise white bread so this is made with whole wheat and so delicious, we even ate some after lunch. She was kind enough to share the recipe with y'all and pointed out she has made this with pineapple before too. YUM!!
4 cups whole wheat bread torn into pieces
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup milk
1-2 cans peaches, drained or several fresh, diced
1 tsp. cinnamon
Literally stir this all up in a big bowl and bake at 350 degrees for an hour in a 9x13 pan. If want it thicker, use a smaller pan. Enjoy. Thanks "T"

2. Yellow and Black
Some people may think Black and Yellow as Bumble Bee-ish but for me, it reminds me of what I lovingly call my Bumble Bee ensemble of 1988. First day back junior year from Christmas vacation and I wore my new shiny black capri leggings, black patent pumps, and a matching yellow and black striped skirt/cropped duo and I have never felt more confident in all my high school years. I seriously felt like Madonna. Sadly no picture but wearing these 2 colors makes me think of that outfit fondly.
Here's my date night look from last Saturday...we finally saw "Bad Moms", sooo funny!
Yellow sweater from Gap, Destroyed jeggings from Express and Booties are Vince Camuto from Nordstrom

This Fall I'll pair more of a mustard yellow with black....such cute polka dots!!

5. Hobby Lobby
I admit I get mad when I see Christmas decor in Hobby Lobby in JULY!! However, do I ever find cute stuff there at decent prices for holiday decorating! Got these Tuesday and love them!! The pumpkin Spice sign is big and would look great on an easel.

You look so pretty in your date night outfit! I love your hair. That Pumpkin Spice sign is fantastic, I'll have to head out to our Hobby Lobby and see what I can find - love pulling out my fall decorations!
ReplyDeleteI never understood why stores put out Christmas stuff early, even after working in retail myself. I wonder who makes those decisions. Probably the same people who think that we want the cashiers to lecture us about all the benefits of the card programs/memberships/whatever (I had to do that at one store and I hated it!)
ReplyDeleteThat yellow & black outfit combo has to be one of my favorites of yours!! I absolutely love the distressed denim! That goodness for the break in humidity--my hair was not feelin' it haha! Have a wonderful weekend lovely!

Laura was telling me that had lots of pink and gold and heart stuff there for the nursery! We are supposed to get one in our town but not until like next year. The closest one to me now is still pretty far away so it sure is a treck. but it will be worth it! Happy three day weekend!
