FRIDAY FAVORITES....GRATEFUL EDITION

Hi friends...Hallelujah for Friday!!! Been another rough week with this crud I have had for two weeks but Dr. prescribed some meds so hoping things look up because next week I have a meeting with a turkey (my mom is going to teach me how to make a turkey for the first time EVAH) and food prepping galore. And I'm putting my tree up, first time we haven't had a real one in years but this is a "most realistic" Fraser Fir (the kind we always used to get) from Balsam Hill so I'm pretty excited. I try to live a grateful life and count my blessings each day. Here are a few of my favorite "gratefuls" for the week.

1. These Guys Having Fun Last Weekend!!
So very grateful for these loves. They both had really fun times at college last weekend. Mr. Nine went Dad's Day for one son's fraternity and another son went to a Saddie Hawkins dance in a Barn. I think their smiles say it all. So grateful they are starting to really enjoy college and even more grateful they will be home a week from Tuesday for Thanksgiving break!!

2. SWEETS
Ok, I admit it I'm grateful for sweet treats. I plan on making this for the birthday of a sweet girl in our life. Wouldn't it be the perfect ball for Turkey Day...the colors are 
so Thanksgiving Festive!

3. Mom's Chicken Soup

Of course you know how grateful I am for my mama. Not having any brothers or sisters or a large family, I so grateful for all the things she does for us...like homemade chicken soup when we're sick.

4. Week's Attire

Grateful I have a  job where I can dress up but yet doesn't have to be in full business attire.

 This is going to sound strange but I am grateful for Leopard!!! Grrr. Add a pop of leopard to any outfit and BAM! I am not big on printed pants but leopard printed pants...YES please!

FRIDAY FAVORITES......IT'S OVER EDITION

Thank goodness! This has been the longest week. Whether you're happy with the outcome or not..it's over! The election and all the crappy ads that comes with it. Let's move forward in unity. And I just want my chest cold to be over! It keeps hanging on & I have barely slept in days and cannot stop coughing. Mr. Nine has it too and we've both been miserable.
Let's Rest up this weekend because it's getting close to getting our Holiday on!!!

1. These Green Beans!
Green Beans are one of my favorite vegetables but I tend to make them the same way. Imagine my delight when my BFF brought me the most amazing green beans. I surf Pinterest all the time, how did I miss these? Delicious! My Mr. Loves the green bean casserole at Thanksgiving but I'm thinking these would make a great Turkey day side!! 

2. Mom's Birthday
My sweet mom's birthday was last weekend and we took her to our favorite restaurant. I am beyond blessed to call this stylish, compassionate, smart, witty and beautiful lady my mom. She is a petite lil gem and I am so lucky I hit the mom jackpot and have had the BEST role model in life.

From top left, I cored out a little pumpkin, emptied a k-cup for the water and added flowers that Mr. Nine bought / the blondes / yummy white fish & risotto / the new coat I got her for one of her gifts.

5. Kiss Nails
I have had artificial nails since 1996. Yeah, I let them breathe every now and then but artificial ones keep me from my bad habit of biting my cuticles, For years, I had them done in a salon but when Kiss started coming out with the cool artificial ones a few years back, I started doing them myself and save A LOT of money that way. The way I do it takes 1/2 hour and they stay on for 2-3 weeks. Here is a new favorite design...it is a midnight navy with silver sparkle and will be perfect for the holidays.

FRIDAY FAVORITES...Hello May

Happy Friday sweet friends. Hard to believe May is here and going fast. Graduations and my big garage sale are quickly approaching so I think the weeks are zooming by even faster than normal and life is nuts right now. 
Counting the days til relaxation can occur in the warm sunshine.
 Happy Mother's Day on Sunday to all you moms, daughters, sisters, friends and fur baby moms. I hit the mom jackpot and you all know that as I have mentioned her many times before. She is as sweet as she is beautiful, strong as she is soft and as fashionable and hip as they come. I'm grateful for her each and every day! I'm grateful for all of you too.

I know I usually showcase a cocktail but in honor of Mother's Day this weekend, I wanted to show you my mom's favorite red. Serena Sweet Red...delicious! I prefer a white and in the pic below we had a Moscato and a Prosecco, two of my favs.

2. Chambray Love and Inspiration 
I find myself going to my chambray shirts all the time, so comfortable, so versatile and so chic. I found lots of inspiration this week. My friend Vanessa from

4. Patio and the Posies
We have a large deck, this is one of my favorite areas on it. All I need is a bevy and a good 
book. I planted all kinds of flowers last weekend that will go on the deck an showcased a couple pics below from out trip to all the green houses last week.

It was a cold, rainy day picking them posies out but not busy so that was a plus!!

5. Smart Kid
So proud of this Freshman Honors Student. We had his Honors Banquet this past week. We are so blessed that not only are our boys sweet, talented and handsome, but they are super smart too!!

FRIDAY FAVORITES

It's winding down Loves. No worries, still time for beach days, sitting on the deck and lots of ice cream and frozen goodness. This week flew. First full week of kids back in school and I blinked and woke up to Friday. Yay! Weekend here we come! Make it a good and happy one and do something you LOVE!!

4. SWEET TREAT and A SAVORY SIDE
COTTON CANDY SANDWICH CREMES
 Remember I mentioned in my County Fair posts, my love of Cotton Candy? Well, I have found the perfect cookie. I love a shortbread cookie with frosting and this one is perfect! Not too sweet but all the cotton candy goodness in cookie form. The recipe link is below and the frosting mix and flavoring can be found at Wal-Mart or on Amazon.

We came home to a lovely gift my mom had left. Look at this adorable owl she got at 
Pier One. I LOVE owls and to decorate for Fall, so this guy is perfect. Thanks sweet Mom!!

*They are actually adding REAL Pumpkin in and not just pumpkin like spices.
*The caramel artificial coloring is out, thank goodness.

Bailey's in my PSL please!!
