THINGS I USE EVERY DAY

Of course we all have our favorite things and some of those things truly do get used each and every day. I thought I would share with you a few things I use every day. Everything is linked throughout and it’s all in a collage at the end of this post. 

Curling Iron

Ahhh my new Curling Iron! It’s literally the perfect size, and I love the twirling barrel. Even if I just put a curl or two on hair hanging down from my updo, this curling iron is one of the best I’ve ever owned. It’s especially nice when I do my hair in beach waves. And such a great price! I’ve been practicing doing them as well as my friend/hairstylist does!

Coffee Bean Grinder

Every morning, I have a cup of coffee and lately I have been grinding the beans every day so it’s nice and fresh. This is the perfect little Coffee Grinder that my mom got for us. I just love it. 

My stainless steel coffee scoop is such a favorite too!

Dual Coffee Pot 

Well, if we’re going to talk about coffee, we might as well talk about our favorite coffee pot ever! We have had this Cuisinart Pot with the built-in Keurig now for about seven years and we absolutely love it! We really don’t use the Keurig as much anymore, but my goodness this is a good coffee pot! My Barista, Mr. Nine, makes 12 cups every single morning. He drinks most of it and takes two big things of it to work but always leaves me a cup, lol. Then sometimes I use it again in the afternoon for a cup of decaf. You can even use the Keurig to heat up water for a cup of tea when I don’t feel like boiling it in the kettle.

Charging Stand

I am not one to really care or buy tech stuff, including chargers, lol. I leave that to Mr. Nine. Boy, did he find a good one. The Courant Charging Stand is a double duty charger. Not only does it charge my phone upright so I can still look at it. Talk on it and all that good stuff but it also charges my wireless AirPods at the same time.

Barefoot Dreams Blanket

That’s right, summer or winter spring or fall, my Barefoot Dreams Blanket has been my favorite for years! I especially love to curl up with Stella Mae laying on top of it. I was so excited when I saw Nordstrom Rack having these blankets at a fraction of the price over the holidays. I got one for our son’s girlfriend and I wish I would’ve gotten another. It’d be great to keep one in the car her to take to the recliner movie theater or if the car breaks down. The BEST!! makes such a great gift and while you’re at it, get a barefoot dreams Cardigan. I own three and love them!

Rug

This new Rug from is a gem! This runner is 8 foot long and under $50. I literally walk on it every day because it’s the rug in our utility room that goes out into the garage. It’s just the right amount of thickness and feels great on the feet. Plush yet firm if that makes any sense, lol.

Parker Pens

Mr. Nine got me hooked on Parker Pens years ago and now they are the only pens I use. I love that you can get them in a variety of colors. Black is a favorite too. My boys loved them so much that I got them some Personalized Parker Pens for Christmas. The colorful, four pack below was in my stocking this year and of course the pink is my favorite!

FitBit

How I love my FitBit. I’m on my 3rd. I don’t know what it is, but I just don’t want an Apple Watch. I love how skinny these are and simple too. The app is super easy to use and I’m challenged daily to get at least 10,000 steps and oodles of active minutes!

Underwear from Natori Bliss

Ok, there are occasional days where I don’t wear underwear and I usually wear an older pair at night, ha ha, but my everyday underwear for the past three or four years have always been the Natori Bliss Briefs. I have about two dozen pair in every color and they are literally the best!

FRIDAY FAVORITES...BACK IN THE SADDLE

Happy Friday babes! So, the hot weather is definitely sticking around Indiana and that’s just fine because you’ll find me in the pool most of the time! Vacation was fun but this week was great being back in the saddle at home. We had a bad storm this week so yesterday meant cleaning up all the limbs including one that fell onto our Pool House. Today, I will be traveling to the lavender fields in the town in Michigan where I was born. (well, the town, not the fields, lol) I’ve never been to lavender fields so I’m so excited! Here’s to a fantastic FRI-YAY! 

1. VACATION COINCIDENCE

The northern Michigan area is vast, and I knew that my best friend from high school always vacations the same week we did and I knew where she vacationed at. We saw their crew up there one other time, but it was completely crazy to run into her at the trading post and that we had an appointment to kayak and canoe at the exact same time! When her and I get together we are in our own little world and were reminiscing about our beach days as teenagers at all the good snacks we used to take. I reminded her that I still have good snacks so at the end of the River, I had a churro waiting for her, LOL! 

2. FAVE 4 HAIR PRODUCTS

I make it known that I do not promote products unless I love them 100%. Well, let me tell you about how amazing the Fave4 hair products are! I have tried one of their shampoos and conditioners and they’re the best I’ve used in years. But to top it all off, I tried their Take me to Tahiti One Minute Hair Mask and it is absolutely magic. My hair tends to be frizzy but boom, magically restored to much more manageable and shiny locks.

You all know how much I love off the shoulder but many of you mentioned that you can’t get off the shoulder tops to always stay put on your shoulders. This Dress is the perfect solution, still an off the shoulder but it has little tie halter straps! I just loved the deep orange color and midi length.

4. SUMMER DRESS & SNEAKERS

There is just something about a cute little summer dress and crisp white sneakers that I will always love! I absolutely fell in love with this MADEWELL Dress! It's on SALE! It has the cutest little polka dots on it! And I love the flutter straps. This one is a classic and I know I will wear it a lot. It would be cute with a Jean jacket over it as well. Make sure you size down one in this as it runs a little big. THE Cute Sneakers are so comfy!

So, today is my daddy’s birthday, he turns 75! I sent him a whole boatload of goodies including a T-shirt that says, “Leave Me Alone, I’m Only Talking To My Dog Today!” He love his doggie Duke!

Hibiscus
Oh, how I love the hibiscus plant. Being in northern Indiana they really only bloom well in the hot, summer months. This year I got three and I thought they were all the Cayman Wind variety, which is a deep, coral pink but the one in the middle turned out to be a Tie-Dye Wind variety and I absolutely love it!

FRIDAY FAVORITES...GIFTS & GOINGS ON

Happy Friday and I bet you all have happy hearts and stuffed bellies. Lots of goodness today. Some life happenings and sweet gift ideas. Tuesday, I brought you some fantastic AMAZON fashion gift ideas. Today just throwing a few more ideas your way but some recent fun as well. 

1. Chicago

As you may know, Mr. Nine and I went to Chicago for an overnight on Sunday. We walked around town, ate at Shake Shack, went to the Christkindlemart and had some warm Glühwein, took a nap and met friends for the Chicago Bears game, it was a chilly late night but so fun! The next morning, we had our favorite breakfast at West Egg and heading home so Mr. Nine could get to the office. Here are some highlights.

3. Thin or Thick Pillow? Thin, I have a memory foam that I LOVE. Had it forever, probably should get a new one but they do not make this particular one anymore. 

4. Favorite Warm Beverage? So many! Anything with Baileys of course, Coffee with flavored creamer, Tea, lots of tea and for some reason, Hot chocolate but only at the Holidays.

5. Robe: YES or NO? YES!! I call this my baby snow leopard robe and it is my favorite.

6. Favorite Comfort Snack Food(s)? Mom's caramel corn, chips and salsa, Harvest Snaps Pea Crisps, yummy homemade cookies of course with Pumpkin or Apple soon like my 3 Chip Pumpkin Cookies, or Caramel Apple Cookies or my all time favorite: Pumpkin Drop Cookies with Caramel Frosting.

7. Movies or TV Series Binge? TV Series! Movies are usually saved for Friday nights, non-football season.We love our series. Ozark, Season 2 is the latest and we started it last night.

8. Actual PJ’s or Leggings? Love to pull out the flannel PJ's now and again but in reality, I get too hot in them, so to chill out round the house in the cooler months, LOVE my cotton PJ's from VS and it's often Leggings all the Way baby! These from Amazon are my new favorites.

9. Do you cozy up on the couch or a chair? My corner of the couch baby! The inside sectional and the outside one like here.

10. Hoodie, T-shirt or Sweater? All.... tees are more in the Summer, but when the holidays start approaching, I often pull out my Eddie Bauer House sweaters, which I have in 3 colors. Pair em' with comfy bottoms like Buffalo Plaid thermals and I am warm and cozy for sure!
