Happy Kick Off to the Memorial Day weekend sweet friends! I am super happy to have this week behind us. It’s kind of felt like every single person in our family, including the dog had appointments this week! Super excited to get to the three-day weekend with my family and I know you are too! BUT darn rain forecast and we have a Vineyard Party tomorrow, so I'm staying positive...rain stay AWAY!!
I’ve told you before how our local mall, that is five minutes from my house, barely has any stores left in it but in one wing there’s one lone store left which is Maurice’s. I remember shopping there a lot many years ago but rarely find myself in there these days. However, after seeing so many things that looked darling in the window, I decided to go in and have a little try on session and some really cute things came home with me!
My favorite, has to be this dress! The fit is fabulous, and I really love the gray colored wedges that I got too!

You know I love my Americana wear so the minute I saw this All-American tank top, I knew I would need it for the summer. They did not have my size but were kind enough to ship it free to my house
And the sweet associate had on this T-shirt which has little gold pineapples on it, so of course I had to have that as well, it was on clearance but still not in store, but they were able to find me one online as well. I think both of these outfits are so darling.
2. Cooking With Carlee Feature
Remember a few weeks ago when I made my Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies? So good. Well, know I don’t do Tasty Tuesdays as much in the summer, but you know I love to cook, and I am especially flattered with my readers make my recipes. When it is a dear friend who authors a cooking and baking blog, it’s even extra flattering. Not only did Carlee from Cooking with Carlee make my oatmeal raisin cookies, but she renamed them with my name on her blog calling them Andrea's Spiced Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!. How extra sweet is that! You make sure you go over to her BLOG and check out her recipes because they are true tastebud and family pleasers!
4. OTS and White Shorts
This is one of my favorite tops from Amazon! The blue color is so pretty but it comes in many colors. I just love the sleeves and I couldn’t believe I found a necklace to go with on clearance at JCPenney. One of my favorite vacation outfits!

And here is my PS, PSA! As many of you know, I had a squamous cell skin cancer removed yesterday. The whole experience went fabulously and it’s just a matter of healing now and hoping that they got it all. Dr. Moore from the DermaCenter MD is probably my favorite doctor in our county! He puts you at ease and we had big-time laughs talking about the blog, my mom, who is also a patient, and the importance of spreading joy! He is a true inspiration to many.
I truly hope all of you have the sweetest and most precious holiday weekend!
XO
First, I am glad your procedure went well and that you have a Good Dr. Speedy recovery lady.

Sorry to hear about your skin cancer. I had some removed last summer, so I can entirely relate.
ReplyDeleteAll of your outfits are adorable and you are sure ready for Memorial Day! I need to figure out something festive to wear:)
Oh my goodness, half my wardrobe came from Maurices in high school. We had to follow a dress code and they had the best stuff. I haven't been there in forever but I love that shirt and dress. I need to check them out again! Thank you for posting your oatmeal cookies recipe, they were perfect! And I am so glad you smiled right through your procedure. Here's hoping the weather holds out for your vineyard party and for our lasagna cook-off this weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, this weekend was so full of appointments, I am exhausted!! I wish we had a Maurice's here - I've only seen their cute stuff online. I love all of your precious outfits but nothing has my heart more than YOU!!! Have the very best weekend my sweet friend!

I love shopping around Maurice’s. We do not have one in our dried up mall but there is one just few more miles aways. I always stop in when we visit.
ReplyDeleteLove that white shirt! And that All American Tank is perfect!
Glad your procedure went well. I have never been checked but maybe should since I love the sun and over do it every Summer.
Happy Memorial Day weekend to you!
Lisa
So glad your procedure went well! I don't think I've ever been a Maurice's and not sure if there is one near me. That white tie front top is adorable! I'm also loving your blue stripe OTS top! Such a pretty summer outfit with the white shorts! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how I found Maurices too, Andrea. Our mall was remodeling and it was almost the only store in it. I'd never gone in before, and yet I did that time. It was a fabulous experience and I have been back many times since!!
ReplyDeleteYou always pick the best pieces!!
Have a fabulous weekend, and I'm glad your surgery went well. Heal fast and rest lots!!

We don't have a Maurices near us...but a friend of mine has one by her and I remember visiting and going there several times for cute clothes and great deals. Love the stuff you found. SO glad to hear you have a great Doctor who makes you feel so comfortable and that you're safe. Enjoy your long weekend my beautiful friend, xoxo!
ReplyDeleteHappy Memorial Day, Andrea! Kelly Stamps had on THE cutest eyelet and lace top on her IG story Wednesday. She said she bought it last year, but was able to find it and it was on sale for $25 at the Loft! You might be interested. I'm sitting outside by our pool as I type. HOpe the rain holds off and y'all are able to enjoy your party this weekend! I know you will look fabulous! Love you!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your removal went well. You are brave and so positive. I love all your memorial day inspiration and hope the rain stays away!

It is so great when you find a doctor that you really like and trust! Glad it went well.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t been to Maurice’s in years and years. It was the place to shop back when I was in middle school. I’ll have to pop in one.
I'm so happy you've had that awful skin cancer eradicated!!! ($10 word there...LOL) You've been finding some of the cutest tops!! Of course your yummy cookies were featured. You make the sweetest sweets. Have the best weekend. I hope you get a lot of pool time and the weather will treat you right!!! XO
ReplyDeleteThe white cut out top and the festive tank top are my favorites. So very cute. Thank you for PSA. I always try to remind people to get their skin checked all the time. I have one cut out on my back and the scar is awful, but knowing they got it all out is ok. I had it cut three times and since it is on my shoulder, the scar spread since you move it a lot.
ReplyDeletePraying your healing goes quickly and they got it all! That OTS top is the cutest! I just love that bright cobalt blue and how it pops against white! So serendipitous you found the perfect matching necklace too!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everything went well with your procedure. Prayers for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteYou're such a ray of sunshine and goodness!! That store sounds like a real treasure trove! Loving all of your sweet summer styles! I'm all about Americana prints too! Have a wonderful holiday weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteYes! I love the Americana wear!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the procedure went smoothly! And congrats on the recipe. Everything you make looks delcious! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo glad the procedure went well. That amazon top is adorable (and I'm clicking over to check it out now!). I have bought a lot of clothes from them this month... but I may need a few more. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your procedure went well and that you love your doctor!! That's so important! And I love your wishlist items--you would look adorable in that top with either of those earrings!
ReplyDeleteSarah at MeetTheShaneyfelts
I'm such a sucker for all the red white & blue clothing combos so I'm loving all the Memorial Day & 4th of July stuff coming out!!!

I'm so glad you were able to have cancerous cells removed! My father had Basal Cell Carcinoma removed a few years ago, and since then, we've been religious about skin care. On another note, you're flawless as ever, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder that I have have have to get in to have my 'moles' and 'freckles' checked. Heal well and quickly!
ReplyDeleteLove all the clean, crisp pale blue and white everyone is wearing. Not sure why I have missed the boat on that but aiming to jump aboard immediately.
Congrats on the cookies!
Homemade cookies are the best! I love that cute little red dress in the first picture! So cute!
