Why do I love slouchy so stinking much? Last Friday, I showed you in my favorites a Free People Tunic that I loved but it was kinda wide and from the side made me look like I was wearing a tent. Enter this Free People Palisades gem that flows of the shoulder just right, I can wear one of those lacy bras underneath or tank top for a sweet shoulder exposure that does not slide off.
However, let's talk about the Jeans that I got from the Nordstrom anniversary sale that both my husband and sons hate and therefore got sent back. I was so excited to get these Wit and Wisdom Ab-Solution Split hem jeans and thought they were the perfect length and the side slits were kind of cool.
I loved that the waistband was higher and had that innovative "hold you in" waistband technology. However, when I walked out to the living room and said honey do you like these, my husband said "no I do not," which is rarely something he says. I wanted to get a photo shoot out of them, so I decided to pair them with this Free People Tunic. As one of my sons was taking my picture he said he didn't like the jeans either and so after unanimous vote, they went back. What do you think? Would your love ones have liked them? They did fit great but since it was such a strong dislike, I thought I better part with them for some more flattering ones.

The slouchy, easy-going vibe is something I just love to wear in the Fall and I think I will love wearing this Fall with leggings and boots. I even just threw my hair up in a clip to give it a more relaxed vibe too. And It's a GREAT transition piece for Fall when you still want to show a tad bit of skin.
It comes in CUTE colors, I think I want the pink too!

I think the jeans are okay, but probably wouldn't wear them for the same reason. x Love that top though, white looks great on you Andrea. x Jacqui

I wonder why they didn't like them. I have a skirt my hub and one daughter dislikes. In the office I get mega compliments on it. I ignored the family on the skirt and went by colleagues judgement. I've worn it weekly now for 2 years. They still don't like it but I'll wear what I like to quote not dressed as Lamb.
ReplyDeleteFantastic look Andrea. My favourite style of jeans look perfect on you! xx

Love your slouchy, Andrea, and your classic neutral and denim pairing. The cut of the jeans looks great on you, not sure about the slits. I like jeans to be 'just there', a basic vehicle to carry the rest of the outfit. I don't want them to make a statement, so I would probably avoid the fancy slits. Think my hubs would probably say "they look unfinished" which is one of his classic put-downs!
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable!!!! I think the jeans look great but if the men in your life have spoken you did the right thing sending them back! I like this top so much on you, slouchy but still flattering and your bit of shoulder is perfect. Beautiful as always my dear friend!

Love! this whole outfit screams ME. Did you go lighter with your hair?
ReplyDeleteLove the tunic and jeans! But if my hubs didn't like them I would have sent them back too! I am dying for a pair of flair jeans!
ReplyDeleteI love the jeans!!
ReplyDeleteJaymie
That tunic looks soooo cozy and cute. I don't own any of their tops but keep seeing them more often and need to get one! I personally love the jeans- you rock them! :)
ReplyDeleteThis slouchy top is so super cute on you, great casual look pretty lady!

I love that even though it's a comfy top it's still put together because it fits tight in the middle!! Super cute look girl! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteYou look so hip in this look! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am such a preppy but I am totally getting into Free People as well the last few years. They have great options.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall!

Slouchy is so comfy!! Looks amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI love love love the tunic! Any tips on getting deals on Free People stuff? It's always a bit outside of my price range. And I'm digging the jeans but still don't know if I can get away from my skinnies.
ReplyDeleteI actually love those jeans! And they look so good on you!!
ReplyDeleteI like the jeans, not sure why your family is so strongly dislike them, I think you looking great in them and I like the off-the shoulder top

I like the jeans and I don't like the jeans all at the same time :P. I have never tried anything slouchy, but I bet I would LOVE it. So fun that your son takes your photos for you.
ReplyDeleteSo cozy.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this super comfy, fall look! Those flares are SO adorable and that sweater looks so cozy! Happy Wednesday lady!

Free People has the best stuff!!! That stinks that the boys and the husband didn't like the jeans. My first reaction to them in your top picture before reading the post was ohhhhh I love the cut at the bottom!!! But if Chris flat out told me he didn't like something, I would send it back too because that is rare.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic! awww I love the jeans too bad you had to send it back.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute, Andrea! I love this FP top. I spotted it the other day and was thinking about ordering it. It looks so fab on you! I love it with the flared jeans, too!

Cute outfit!! You bring up a very good topic. Since I work in a retail store, I see lots of couples shopping together. If the husband/boyfriend/partner doesn't like what the woman has tried on, nine out of ten times, the woman will not buy it. And it doesn't matter if they like it or not. I just find it very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love the top on you and I am all about a great cozy sweater. I like the jeans but I think the side slit is throwing me off a bit. I am so used to skinny jeans that I think I would just need to get used to a little more flare. You look great though! Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteLet's just be honest. You'd look cute in a burlap sack, but I'd have sent them back too after the protest from the Nine men. The top is awesome. I do love me some Free People and I was looking at the other one in the store over the weekend that you share. If that puppy goes on sale it may end up in my closet. Tent or not. LOL. Have a wonderful Wednesday cutie patootie!
ReplyDeleteI really like the jeans too, but don't know that they'd be the most versatile with the side slit. They still look so cute on you though! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute in that outfit! You make me want to get one too! But I need another sweater in my life like a hole in my head, hehe. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this look Andrea!! Your sweater is just beautiful and those jeans... how fabulous!!

You can sooo pull off slouchy so well. I always look like a hobo who just woke up.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love that top!! So cute and a fun piece to transition into Fall with!
ReplyDeleteWhen the boys talk you better listen! Of course I think you look cute in them but you could pull off a paper bag! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteAndrea, you look AMAZING! Love the top - this is such a fierce look!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, babe!

That white looks fantastic with your tan, lady!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm in the minority, but I love those jeans! They're unique, they're slimming (not that you need it), but I love them! And with that top, they're just perfect! You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch an awesome look on you Andrea ! I love the slouchy look and I agree Fall is the perfect time to wear that. Have a fabulous day lady !
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask what they did not like about them? I am afraid I am not "cool" enough for a split hem, but those are so flattering on you! I am so glad flare jeans of my high school years are back! I love that top, and it is so perfect with that pop of lace from the bralette!
ReplyDeleteReally comfy looking sweater and I like that you can dress it up with some lace underneath. The jeans sound perfect too! I can't do low rise anymore and find mid-rise to be so much more comfortable or in this case a waistband that holds you in. Right up my alley and the slits are a nice touch! xo
ReplyDeleteYou fashionista! I love your jeans -- I used to have a pair similar to them when I was in high school...crazy how trends come back

Love the slouchy top on you and actually the jeans too. Ah, the things we do to keep peace...ha! Personally I thought you looked adorable. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou love the slouchy because it looks so comfy-chic. That's one of my favorite fall looks and I've yet to get it right. In other words, my shopping challenges haven't help me get just the right sweater/top. And now back to you...I looked at the jeans and looked at them and looked at them; trying to see through the boys' eyes. I don't know. I like them, but there are a few thing that my hubby is particular about. He just doesn't like. So maybe this is one of those things. In conclusion, I say yes to both. Though with so much dislike in one household, I would have sent them back as well. I mean, sometimes it's a relief to send something back. Ok. Done now. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that tunic. Free People have the best comfy clothes.

Too bad the guys in your house didn't like your jeans, because I think they're fab on you. Generally I don't take any fashion advice from my men, because none of them know what they're talking about :)! But I see where you're coming from too.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. Love the tunic!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the jeans and would not give a hoot about my husband's opinion. They look really good on you, so wondering why you did not trust your own judgment? I guess being a woman in her sixties is why I don't even bother to ask my husband, I mean....you should see some of the stuff he wears. LOL
ReplyDeleteI think they're great jeans! I wonder why your family didn't like them? Weird! You look gorgeous!

I really like the jeans, I wonder why they didn't like them? They are very unique, I've never seen a pair like that before. You look great! Love the sweater!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge Free People fan and that sweater is perfection!

I think the jeans look great! But i get it: what the hubby and kids say goes :) You can barely see the slit, and I think they make the jeans look kind of cool and unique! Hope you have a wonderful weekend gorgeous!

I love ALL of the slouchy tops and this one is so cute! I'm bummed they didn't like the jeans, they're so fun!
ReplyDeleteI need this entire outfit.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about white in the fall, but I love it. This top is perfect and I love slouchy tops right now, too. I have been wanting to get one of those lacey bras to wear under tops, but I can't decide on a color or I worry I won't actually wear it. You've mastered it in this look!

I just love that top! The relaxed fit, but snug at the hips is perfect so it doesn't look too big. And I love the lace bralette underneath!
ReplyDeleteWell how happy am I that I scooted over to read. I seriously put those jeans in my cart yesterday thinking I might "need" them!! Thanks for saving me some money. lol
ReplyDeleteI love that sweater! Free People always has the best stuff. As for the jeans I think they look cute. I love the flares!

I love your slouchy sweater. The jeans look great on you but if you're not sure about them then it's probably best to give them a miss. Sometimes men just don't get fashion ;-)

Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. There is some eternal classic to the look of a white blouse and jeans! You look stunning! You hair looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect sweater! I have a few pairs of Wit & Wisdom jeans and they are great, but sometimes the style just isn't quite right.
ReplyDeleteI think the jeans looks great. I think it is silly not to wear something you like just say because someone else says no. It's your body, wear what you want. And most men look like crap anyway so who are they to judge.
ReplyDeleteI actually really like the jeans! They fit you so well and the slits are cool. But I can see why you would send them back if your guys dislike them so strongly... I love your slouchy top, too. Looking great!
