WHAT TO WEAR ON A TROPICAL VACATION

Not only am I sharing what to wear on a tropical vacation but it is that time of year when warm weather clothing is on a major clearance so you might want to pick up some things for next season even if you’re not going on vacation. Or you may be one of the lucky ones and it’s warm where you live so all of this works for you right now.

My mom and I had some cute things to wear to Turks and Caicos. Hope you caught the trip recap on Monday HERE

I must say I was proud of myself for how I packed this time. everything was nice and neat, and I was more diligent on what I took. I wore almost everything but there were a couple pieces I wish I would’ve brought and a couple shoes that I never even needed.

Sharing some of the cute pieces I wore and one you loved on Mom on Instagram. 6 of you ordered her kimono already! Keeping it cool and breezy and always CHIC!

WHAT I WORE ON SUMMER VACATION

Ok, let me just get this out there, I literally took about 37 outfits. Now to note, I did wear about 2/3 (photo shoots included) of them but and this is a big BUT, LOL! If I were not a blogger and an influencer, I probably just mainly would’ve taken T-shirts, tanks, swimsuits, and shorts! Yep you read that right. That’s how laid-back upper Michigan is and how I feel most comfortable! Maybe would’ve thrown in a couple decent outfits for dinner but one day, I promised Mr. Nine that I will get it down just to a handful of outfits and shoes, lol! It’s so much worse for me when we drive because I know I can take ALL THE THINGS? Are you like that? Do you tend to pack more when you drive? It is a running joke, but I have a big red suitcase that literally weighs 100 pounds when we go and either Mr. Nine or the boys must carry it up and down three flights of stairs. Mama must make some packing changes, lol!

OK, now to some of the cuteness that I did wear in addition to the Cabana Life Cuteness I showed you last week. And at the end of this post, a couple pieces that I never did wear but took.

This Target Sweatshirt is the SOFTEST I own and right on trend with the tennis/Beverly Hills/sweats trend the teens are especially sporting these days. Perfect outfit for a walk on the pier. Jean Shorts HERE

This entire look from the Knit one Shoulder Top to the Checkered Skirt and Straw Sandals is under $75!! The two clothing pieces are from Target, and I love them! Perfect outfit for Italian and Ice Cream!

I really took quite a few beachy linen pants and this pair was a fav! I love them especially great with a guaze white shirt and fav bling sandals. So Beach town sweet!

LOVE me some Yellowstone this tee came from Meijer but linking the pants and bag, one of my beloved Lulu bags of course.

Oh, my Stars, this Cardigan Sweater is one great Amazon Find. I LOVE that the stars are black so it’s not just for Patriotic occasions. Looks so good with the black beachy Pants and I love that the grey is heathered and lighter in weight.

Tank HERE ad Flip Flops HERE

This Romper is from Cabi Clothing and I shared it on Instagram HERE but it is another with the detachable back is it is soooo good!

Now to a couple of the cute things that didn't get worn..

Literally one of my favorite outfits from the Summer and BEST Cardigan EVER from Evereve. The paper bag amazing SHORTS are from Walmart and identical to a pair of $98 ones I saw.

OH, this Peplum Cutie TOP from The LOFT! This top also has the CUTEST back tie. Sandals HERE

And of course the necklace set I wore almost everyday on vacation, get it HERE, so inexpensive and perfect!!

Which look is your favorite?

UP NORTH UP A NOTCH

Last week I bought you my Casual Beach Town Looks from our time on Lake Michigan. I definitely like to keep it more casual on Vacation but in the evenings, it’s always fun to get a little more jazzed up. We really didn’t have as much opportunity to do that this year and a lot of the dresses I took went unworn. But here are 4 of the little bit dressier looks so I called it up north, up a notch, LOL!

WHITE LINEN & SLEEVELESS SWEATER

The Sweater was love at first sight! It is so darling, and I knew immediately that I would pair it with white linen pants! You cannot go wrong for 20 bucks, and it is such high-quality from Target.

PINK JACKET

Oh, my friends! It is no secret that I absolutely love the designs from the mother daughter team behind a Clara Sunwoo! Remember the blue liquid leather jacket Post I shared with you this winter. And then the dynamite jumpsuitt they gave us a Grecian Vibes, it happens to be my favorite Jumpsuit ever! But anyway, enter the jacket of my dreams! This Pink Liquid Leather is such a beautiful shade, and I was tickled pink so to say defined an old shed that antique store owner freshened up with some bright colors including a pink door and a pink flamingo on top! How fun!

NAUTICAL VIBES DRESS
This Little Number had boating and beach town written all over it! Well not technically, but with the little rope tie belt I thought it would be perfect to get pictures by the marina. I wore this out for sushi one night. It’s lined super comfy and has a little bit of a twirl factor.

BUFFALO PLAID

Oh, how I love this outfit! It got a rousing “I love it” from Mr. Nine! I shared this already on my Instagram and noted that buffalo check isn’t just for the holiday season. It’s so cute year-round! This top! I could not resist the smocking and the peplum, and the huge plus is that you can wear a regular bra with it! The Shorts are the sailor style, but they are pull on from Sophia Vergara from Walmart and such wonderful quality. I love them so much that I got them in white and they are under $25!

FRIDAY FAVORITES....NOT SO PERFECT EDITION

This is a very interesting addition to Friday Favorites because it’s some of the not so perfect, sad and disappointing things in life. Often, we showcase our best on the blog, but I decided to do a little something different.

1. Daisy Mae
I really don’t know what this day is going to hold for me as it is the one year anniversary of our sweet Daisy Mae‘s passing! It is so crazy that in the months after she passed, so many of you friends and bloggers had your dear fur babies leave this world and you know how much I empathize with you! I’m not going to go into all my feelings on her loss as time does ease the pain a little bit, but I think this Post I wrote on it last year sums it all up from my heart!
And I am beyond ready for a new doggie, in fact I NEED a new pup for my sanity but Mr. Nine is not ready…boo!

2. Regis
We lost one of the most amazing men that the entertainment world ever created and that was Regis Philbin. One of a kind and a heart of gold! I was lucky enough to meet Regis on a couple occasions and he even had photos of the 2 us and he and my mom in his office. We shared a love for Notre Dame, and I am beyond thrilled that he will be buried on his beloved ND Fighting Irish campus! He was Notre Dame‘s number one fan of all time and an alma mater! I loved him with Kelly but it was his magic with Kathie Lee that had me mesmerized every morning!

4. Not So Perfect Pics but CUTE Outfit
Well, I have to say, this ended up being the perfect, “not perfect,” example of how things don’t always go as planned. Today, on Instagram, I was supposed to collectively join a group of ladies in showcasing a not so perfect picture. We always put our best out there so one of the ladies found an awesome quote and we were all going to share a non-perfect photo. Well, that got pushed off a week and at first, I was upset because I wanted it to coincide with my blog post today but, that’s just it, that’s how life goes and sometimes we just have to go with the flow of it, so I’ve included a not perfect picture here and I’ll post to Insta next week. In the meantime, it gave me a great reason to skip posting to Insta today and take a breather!

Post of the Week ~ Feels Like Pajama's

MORE Canceled Plans
Never in a million years did I think in March that Covid-19 would still be around come this Fall. But unfortunately plans continue to get canceled and I made a decision this week about one of the things I was MOST excited about this year! Going to Cali in September to stay at Lisa's with my Style Six crew. This would been our 3rd annual meet up but we decided it was best not to fly and for me, not to risk taking any germs from Indiana to my friends. Love them so! Fingers and Toes crossed for 2021!

The Yeti artender...on Hiatus
Hey, for the small majority of you that are loving The Yeti Bartender, it’s going to be on hiatus for a few weeks. Summer weather has given me a reprieve and I just want to spend it outside drinking a cold seltzer instead of concocting and trying to come up with new cocktail recipes. Don’t worry, it will probably be back this Fall as I can think of a few colder weather month cocktails that you just might love!

Memes
These trying times are far from perfect, but at least all the Memes have given some laughs and smiles.

and My FAV

....And then Something Sweet happens
 THE BLUE HERON
This beautiful bird comes to the pond every year and while I’ve gotten some good pictures of him, the perfect shot just seems to allude me. I was taking video and pictures of him on the step railing the other morning and just kept snapping. Just when I thought I would never get a perfect shot of him, boom there it is. This is just to tell you that when things don’t go perfectly, then you turn around and sometimes they do. Never give up. No matter how many sad things happen in life, there’s so much joy! It’s all around us!

CHEERS to a Perfectly imperfect weekend!!
