I was going to post this around the holidays but now I'm glad I saved for Andrea's Show and Tell Series. This week's topic is about Grown up Parties. Who doesn’t love a Party? Pinterest is a great tool for planning your ideal Spring wardrobe, your next living room remodel, driving traffic to your blog or finding a delicious dish to take along to a party. Oh how Pinterest has changed my life for the better. The nothing fancy pin below is what started my Pinterest obsession years ago and prompted me to give a favorite things party that was a huge success! While just simple paper bags with the tags labeled "Favorite Things", my creativity was spurred and the planning began for my favorite things party began.
First up was the Invitations. I have always been a fan of Zazzle for cards and personalized products and I found the perfect invitations to go with the Ladies Night Favorite Things Party theme. I invited 40 ladies and 38 came!! In a snowstorm even!!
Aren't they adorable?
This is the back view.
This is the insert I added that explained what a Favorite Things party is.
There's my paper bags all "dolled" up!! How sweet is this table!
I made the table edging with my Critcut scrapbook cutter and threaded red ribbon through it.
No Party of mine would be complete without fresh flowers, a "favorite thing" of mine.
Here are the little party favors I made for the gals to take home. Since it was around the holidays, I filled them with a favorite Christmas candy, white chocolate covered peppermint creams. However, I still laugh at this...the "set" of candies look like boobs, lol.
Of course my Party would not be complete without cocktails. Mom served the punch complete with her Appleton Rum she won in a dance contest in Jamaica.

I didn't get a picture of the food table but the banner said Favorite Things and I hung paper lanterns above it.
Everyone came in there favorite outfit whether it be PJ's or a favorite color, etc. I wore my favorite apron and color, red. We played a Sound Of Music trivia game and before everyone divulged their favorite things to pass out, they told the story behind it. Everyone had brought their favorite food to share. We ate, drank and were merry all night. I consistently get asked when I am having another Favorite Things Party. I imagine Pinterest is full of ideas!!
Have a great week...time to go Pinning!!
