Happy Friday sweet people. Well, I mentioned how many presents I had to wrap on Monday, I am half done but next week is wrapping and baking week so I should be able to complete it. This week will be spent with my Mr. who was gone all week and hoping for a date day/night on Saturday. I hope this Friday treat you mighty fine!!
1. Birthday Boy Trip
As you know, Tuesday I had a boy turn 21. I missed the last 2 actual birthdays because of college so there was no way that I wasn’t going to be there to celebrate his 21st. It worked out perfectly because he had actually gone out with friends the night before at exactly 12:01 AM, LOL! My mom was able to travel down to IU with me and we took him and a friend out for a wonderful and fun dinner! We also went on a mad hunt to find the “2” and “1” balloons as Walmart was out of the “2”, LOL
2. Holiday Find ~
Buffalo Plaid Earrings
My mad for buffalo plaid attitude is not stopping anytime soon. While I mainly decorated with it on the porch and a couple spots in the house, I am really loving it for attire. Just look at these adorable buffalo plaid earrings I got from Etsy. This Etsy shop has the sweetest sweetest owner and I am tickled pink with these earrings.

Daisy likes my slippers too, she actually laid on them just like this with her paws in them, lol
4. White Coat
There is something about a white coat that is so classy. I love to keep it pretty neutral and it looks pretty against the snow. Love this Michael Kors one my mom got me with the fun gold zippers.

Posts for the Week
A festive week round here
Monday was the fun TBB ASKS for the Holiday's, Tuesday, I shared the birthday boys’ Favorite Meal, and Wednesday, went a little sassy with SEQUINS!
Our 41st President Laid to Rest
It is no secret, that I adore the Bush family. My go go go pace halted and my Wednesday and much of Thursday was spent watching George H W Bush’s funeral and trip to his final resting place. I laughed at the reminiscing and shed many tears especially when George Jr. spoke of his father, our 41st president. It was so refreshing to see all our Presidents together to honor him. What a tribute, what a life, what a family and so much rejoicing that he is with Barbara and their daughter again. And as Jenna Bush Hager said, George and Barbara will now be together for Christmas for which they had spent 73 Christmas's together.
George W. and George H W's best friend, Ted Baker.
And I leave you with the notion we should gather from this family...Be kind, Be noble, Serve others and LOVE everyone.
Have a wonderful, festive weekend!

ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, sweet friend! Again, I'm so glad you could celebrate your son in person on this milestone birthday!! How funny that Walmart ran out of "2"s! Lol! Glad you could track one down so that your balloon sentiment could be complete. :) I absolutely adore that white coat and there couldn't be a more beautiful gal (inside and out) to sport it this season! George W. did such a fantastic job delivering that and I couldn't help but cry with him at the end. I hope you enjoy every bit of your date time with your man now that he's returned! *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteWhich "IU" does your son go to? My husband and I both went to Indiana University!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that plaid sherpa pullover!!
Aw Andrea I watched a lot of President Bush’s funeral as well and was so touched by all the words his family and friends had for him. What a special man! I made it a favorite this week too because it was truly inspiring and a great example of a life well lived. So glad you got to celebrate with your 21 year old! I just bought my first white coat and I’m so excited to wear it! Happy Friday! Xo

ReplyDeleteYou are the best mom! I love the “21” balloons, and what a perfect birthday dinner. Idk if I could have handled going on for the 21st birthday celebrations so this is what I hope for when my kids turn that age. I love the pic. of him getting carded, haha! Who is the cute girl… his girlfriend?
LOVE those plaid earrings!!!!
Daisy is so adorable in your slippers, hehe.
Both my daughters want slippers for Christmas. I should look into those socks. Adorable and they look super cozy.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend, Andrea!!
I used to have a white coat and I adored it. It's just so perfect for the season and goes with everything. Mine was even washable so it lasted at least 10 years. But just last year I tried to spot clean it with oxyclean and the weirdest stains happened. It was very sad....so it's gone and I'm on the search for another!!

ReplyDeleteOh, Andrea...I, too, spent much of Wednesday thinking about the dear Bush family. 41 is the President that I first have true memories of, so thinking of him getting to spend Christmas with his sweetheart in heaven is just perfection. Also, unrelated, all your buffalo plaid has my heart going pitter-patter! As always, your style is #goals!
ReplyDeleteHoly moly, there's so much good stuff in here. Bush 41 was such a good man and I just was choked up with the entire thing. What a sweet 21st bday celebration for that cutie boy of yours. I'm mad for buffalo plaid too. Hope you have the best weekend!!! XOXO

You have a great family and congrats to your son for turning 21! Such a great time in life. I watched H W's funerals and cried. It's not political its social. Our world is so harsh and the kinder gentler days seem gone. I have to have a white coat!!!
ReplyDeletePeace!
Cheryl
Those buffalo plaid earrings are darling! And listening to Georgia W. talk about his Daddy had me tearing up. His eulogy was so good.
ReplyDeleteLove that you were able to celebrate so big with your boy! And dangit girl..I may have to have that sherpa WITH the monogram. That is so stinkin' cute!! It has been amazing hearing all the words spoken at the various services. Such an incredible man and a life well lived. Welcoming him to his final resting place yesterday was definitely a memory I will not forget. You need to come see me! GB Library and a trip to Waco all in one. :)
ReplyDeleteAw happy birthday to him! Love that you went to celebrate him. You look so cute in all your plaid, and I love your white coat!
