CHUNKY CROCKPOT TURKEY SAUSAGE CHILI

Sometimes you just need a chunky, hearty, soul warming chili! Yes, good old-fashioned regular chili that I make a lot in the Fall and Winter is delicious, but this chunky smoked turkey sausage chili is so full of flavor and chunkiness, that I often eat mine with a thick, salty tortilla chip. This is another crock pot recipe sure to make any chilly Fall Day even better!
Yum

It’s so very easy, just sauté up the veggies and lightly brown the sausage and ya dump it all in. One thing I really like about this is it is basically just a heat it all up so it doesn’t need to cook all day. In Fact, if you’re in a pinch, you could mix it all in a stock pot, heat through and be good to go. I like it to simmer just a bit in the crock so those delicious chili flavors blend together perfectly.

What you'll need

Kielbasa Chunky Sausage Chili
INGREDIENTS
regular size package skinless Smoked Turkey sausage, cut into coins, then halved
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 (14.5) oz cans fire roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (14.5) oz cans petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup chunky salsa (I like Pace)
1 (15-16) oz chili or pinto beans, rinsed and drained (I use Brooks Chili Beans)
Garnishes: shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro

DIRECTIONS
Cook bell pepper and onion in olive oil in a large saucepan until onions are translucent. Pour into crockpot. In same skillet add sausage and cook until slightly browned. Transfer to crock pot. Stir in chili powder, beans, tomatoes and salsa. Cook on high one hour or low for four hours. Garnish as desired.

Just threw it in the crock

HAPPY TASTY TUESDAY!

  5. I love chili because it is pretty easy to make, and you can eat off of it for more than one meal. And you know, it is delicious! I haven't made any with sausage before. Might have to try this out for a change up!! Normally we do ground turkey, beef or chicken.
