CONFESSIONS.......

I confess....I have never done a Confessions post and oh what fun! Now I see why a lot of bloggers like to dish these out. Feels good to confess or vent about some stuff.
We all need that from time to time!

Let's GO!!

~As much as I love off the shoulder and one shoulder tops and dresses, I do not like the way I look in "cold" shoulder. You know, the tops where just your shoulders are out. I like them on other people and I have one or two, but not a lot of love here on me.

~I am coming to despise social media. It is so sad when you're in a large group of people and everyone is perusing the social media instead of talking with each other. I feel like social media is making everyone so much more stressed out and pressured than days ago when we would just sit around and chitchat. I will never get a FB and while I know I need an Insta to grow my Blog, I do not want it to consume me like I see it consuming others.

~I think about quitting blogging every.single.day but it's the people I love!

~I'm not a Beyoncé fan. What is the obsession with her?

BUT I am obsessed with J-LO!!!

~I have to look up how to spell "convenience" every time and I'm a good speller.

~I'm sad I work at a job that is just "for the money!" I envisioned myself doing something I loved, something rewarding like counseling, meteorology (yeah weather is rewarding) or my dream job: College Sociology Professor. It's a case of should haves: should have continued graduate schooling, should've made better life choices, etc. Now, I just want to enjoy each day. In all honesty, to be a housewife would be the BEST OF ALL!

~I like snow, I like cold as long as it's not bitter cold. While I love sunshine the best and am giddy up happy it's summer, I love all the seasons and I don't complain that much about winter, I get excited about it.
I now you're missing this white stuff...bha ha ha!!

~I never know which LOL to use? Lower case lol or upper case LOL?

~Once, when I was pregnant, I ate an entire bag of Reese miniature cups in my car and that was back when there were like 50 of them in the bag...there were wrappers everywhere.

~In High School, I wore these red glasses for awhile because I wanted people to think I had glasses. Look, I still have them. Ha!

~I truly feel the news media is to blame for half the world's problems.

~I am fascinated by big wind turbines. The fields where there are clusters of dozen of them. On our way up north in Michigan, there is a several mile stretch in the highway where the whole town utilizes their power. When we come up over the hill and I see them, I get so excited, my palms sweat and it feels like Christmas.
My LOVES

~Years ago, I would save hundreds of dollars on groceries from coupons and carried my coupon envelope in my purse for years, clipping here and there diligently. (One year I even tallied my coupon savings and it was over $3000)
I threw away that envelope last week along with all the expired coupons from 2014. Extreme Couponing Days...over. Although I do still occasionally use them, there just aren't as many good ones out there of stuff we actually use and no stores around here double.

~I think I look a lot better with sunglasses and a fedora on. Bad hair day, little or no make-up and it can still be "game on!"

  1. Oh girl, after reading your confessions you and I are more alike then before. Other than the cold shoulder and the wind turbines I completely agree. Reading your confessions was a lot of fun! Hope you have a good Monday and that you're feeling better!

  2. Funny that you mention couponing because that show is so fascinating to me! I love - J.Lo so I'm with you on picking her over beyonce and I'm with you on social media just taking over our lives...I mean it's this necessary evil wahh! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  4. Because I am your sister I have to show you my responses to these:
Shut up. You look good in everything you wear. I have yet to see a look on you I didn't care for. So Barbie shhhh.
Social Media is a nightmare, I agree. I'm addicted. Moving on.
I also contemplate never blogging again - every single day. But like you I love the "friends" I have made.
Lately, I have been in a personal struggle (post coming) about my own path. So I'm pleased to see it must be genetic
Reeses? Isn't that part of the a balanced daily diet? I could kill a bag if my brain would let me - I would get pregnant just to do it but I'm not looking for that end result!
Beyonce was cool to me in 2001 but just like Boone's Farm the older I got the more I realized she's probably a nutjob who has a strange obession with thong leotards. I cannot say I'm down with Jenny From the Block but I have my own weird tendencies and he has me like whoa.
I've always needed glasses. No comment.
Winter - we cannot hang right now. OK maybe if we were neighbors I would winter better than I do. I just cannot.
Coupons - yes sister I had a binder of coupons and I used those things like they were "hunded dollah bills yo" then one day I said I was done and stopped.
I started rocking baseball hates (specifically my initial one) and cannot get enough.
And this is why I love you LOL!

  5. I love the snow!!! And J-Lo! Beyoncé is alright but I don't think everything she says or does is pure genius like some. I think you are 100% right about media. The news creates so much hysteria, and most of it gets blown completely out of proportion or is twisted so much it's hardly the truth. And social media does cause a lot of stress in people's lives. Instagram is the only one I enjoy because there's less negativity there. I can just look at pretty pictures and not read any nonsense.

  6. Those windmills are so cool. I have family in West Virginia and when we go to visit them we see them and they are amazing! It's unbelievable how enormous they are in person!!

I'm with you on the cold shoulder thing. I tried on a cold shoulder top the other day and it was a disaster!

  7. What a great post! Social media, the news media... dang media! They can all give you fits but I suppose it is a necessary evil. I definitely spend way too much time on social media but it is hard to get your blog out there without it! I'm with you though, housewife sound pretty good most days ;-)

  8. Ohhh this was so fun Andrea!!! Totally agree with social media, I hate when I'm out to dinner with my friends and they're on FB or Instagram, like really!!??! And I LOVE the snow! Like obsessed with it. I always say I'm the only one in Chicago who is genuinely happy when it snows. Oh, and I would love to be a housewife forever but don't think my hubby will be ok with that LOL

  9. I can relate to you on so many of these! Especially with sort of hating social media and on the job front! I hate to say my day job is solely just to earn money and not something I actually enjoy--that's why I decided to take my graphic design class! Whether it turns into anything or not, it's really nice to have something else to focus on where I can be creative!! Loved this post--you're so genuine and fabulous!

  10. A few more things we have in common.....I was once an extreme couponer too! Totally obsessed with wind turbines. They actually have a shipping yard next to where Riley plays in Corpus and seeing those blades on the ground and realizing how huge they are is crazy! And yes...the media...don't even get me started! Quitting blogging...yep...on months like this when it's a struggle to pull any content out of my head I wonder why the heck I'm doing this!

I will say I think it's our 40's that has us thinking all about could've, should've stuff. I keep feeling like God just has a bigger purpose for me. I don't hate my job, but I really have a desire to feel like I'm making more of an impact individually. I keep telling myself this has been the means God provided me financially so that when I'm able to retire I can pursue the real purpose. Counseling teens in crisis or working at a teen pregnancy center are both things I think about.

  11. I love this! We have a lot in common...coupons...I had a binder and I used that thing. I haven't used it in a long time because like you said, not many good ones and it was a lot of work and we don't really eat or use the stuff they are for. I would miss you and your blog...please don't go! Beyonce...YUCK! Ok, I do like her song "Sorry" but other than that she can leave now. J-Lo will always be my girl and I love that her and A-Rod are together. Have a great Monday!

  12. Confessions are good, right? I enjoy writing them. Totally with you on Beyonce, I get it, she's talented but she isn't THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD. My mom was a big coupon lady and I totally can envision your envelope looking like hers.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Girl, we are so much alike. I totally don't get the Beyonce hype. She is talented but I don't think she is the b all of the end all. haha. I too think about quitting blogging, all the time, but then I think of the wonderful ladies like yourself and it brings me right back to it. As for social media, I stay off of FB for that reason. I just can't. Add in working for the gov't and well, it just becomes too much. And almost daily I wish I had a different job. I dread going to work almost every day. It does take its toll.

  15. What a super fun post!!! I'm totally adding this to my "to do list". So, in response...lol (see how I used the lower case lol there...LOL) HA, I have no idea about that either. Anyhoo, I can't believe you don't have FB or Insta, but I totally admire that. The mental pic I got of you eating all those Reese's was awesome! You are dead on about coupons. There are hardly any good ones any more. It's always buy 2 and get 3 cents off. WHAT? I do love Cartwheel though and have saved a ton with that. Here's a biggie for me (which will def be in my own post when I do it) I love the OTS tops and think they are darling (and you rock one like no other) but I just don't like to wear them or the cold shoulder. First I don't like my shoulders to be cold😂 and second I just think they are a pain to keep in place. I'm ready for them to go out style. Why do I feel like any fashion blogger who reads this is going to want to stone me? Have a great week sweet lady!

  16. Those wind mills are really cool, We have them on our way to Palm Springs, they make me happy. And wow look at your couponing girl! That's awesome, how did you find the time?! And yes to staying at home and doing home stuff instead of working, sigh. One day! and lol and the LOL...hehe.

  17. I love this post, Andrea! I love the winter (and all seasons!) too. You're right, as long as it's not super cold, I definitely get excited for the first snowfall! Happy Monday!!

  18. This was an awesome post especially on a Monday! I needed some great fun facts to read to wake me up... I totally agree on the media and news just messing up this crazy world! I try to avoid it and not watch but sometimes its hard not to. And I am loving those glasses on you. I just pulled the trigger and got some oversized ones and love them! Happy Monday!

  19. This was a great post! So honest and relatable! I'm with you on so many of these but mostly social media. I like FB for keeping up with friends but there is way too much stress that comes along with it. I'll never have a perfectly curated IG. It will always be random snaps of me and my kids with zero editing. You gotta draw the line somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  20. HAHA...we are so much alike.
I am the EXACT same way with Beyonce.I dont get it. All the crazy fans. ... she is too much for me. But J-Lo?!?!?!? ALL THE YES!!! She is perfection to me.

    & ... um... I had those glasses too :)

  21. Andrea, you look good in everything...seriously!!
I have to agree with social media and news in general...more people need to love and talk to each other. When we go out to restaurants I always notice that people around us are so consumed by their phones. It's sad. No communication at all.
I'm so sorry you aren't doing what you love, but hopefully the opportunity for you to become a housewife comes soon. Big hugs my friend!

  22. Oh love this post, and your honesty. Though I love me both some queen bey and JLO. I have a love/hate relationship with Social Media. But with a business I need to be on there :( I miss the days of no cell phones though! I can't believe you of all people think about quitting blogging!! Don't ever! LOL xoxoxo

    ReplyDelete
  23. I loved reading this -- I hear you about social media. It is indeed very time consuming and it can be so stressful! It's all about #s these days which is kind of sad and nothing makes me more sad when you see people constantly on their phones vs interacting with each other! Totally agree with you and please do not quit your blog! I LOVE YOU!
    Happy Monday, babe!

  24. Ok I love you even more now! I agree with so much of this even though it's your confessions I can just relate so much. Social media is exhausting and I myself had to take a step back. While I'm trying "grow" in a sense, I can't let moments with my family take a backseat because some company might want to throw me $100 for a sponsored post. My pictures won't be perfect and I refuse to not share a moment of my family because it doesn't go with my "theme". I have a love hate relationship with blogging lately and feel like it's really lost it's authentic feel for a lot of people. I'm also having a hard time finding the time to keep up with all of my favorite bloggers. Those family moments again will always win. Why are there only 24 hours in a day?!? I feel the same way about my job and I am trying really hard to work out being able to go part time and spend more time doing what I enjoy. I have to look up convenience all the time, along with a bunch of other words...I am just not a good speller lol, or is it LOL. And Beyonce, yeah, she doesn't do it for me. I know we are all more critical on ourselves than others, but seriously, you look amazing all the time! Sorry, longest response ever <3 Beautifully Candid

  25. I love confession style posts! This one is so fun and I loved learning more about you! Completely agree that social media has taken over the world and it's really sad. I look around in restaurants sometimes and it's so sad that no one looks at each other and instead looks at the screens in front of them. And hats and sunnies are amazing for making you look chic and thrown together, though you always look great, friend!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I totally do not get the whole Beyonce thing either! She irks the stew out of me, actually! Haha.

And I'm totally with ya on the whole job thing... it stinks going to a job you hate every day. I wish so badly that I could be a SAHM, but that's just not in the cards right now.

And girl, YES, you ROCK a fedora!

    Happy Monday, Andrea!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have to spell check convenience every time too. In fact, just did. I agree that the news media really has really caused a lot of problems too, as well as social media, even though it has a lot of good qualities. Ah I would love to be a house wife too, even though I really do like my job. I would workout, cook, travel more and redo my house all the time! Stay cool in those temps, it's hotter there than here today!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Loved your confessions, Sista! And thanks for sharing that cute snow bunny pic, because yes! After walking out my house this morning to go to work, the humidity nearly knocked me down! I've been enjoying some rather nice walks in the evening because it has been so low, but not today! I guess summer is officially here! And you look as cuter as ever in fedoras, glasses, and off-the=shoulder blouses! Hey! That nearly rhymes! HA! Enjoy your Monday!

  29. OK, it's official - we are sisters separated at birth! We seriously share so many of the same traits. I love learning new facts about you, and I have to agree that social media is a nightmare sometimes. While on vacation I barley checked it, which was SUCH a nice break. You have to just live in the moment - or else you'll miss your whole life! Thank you for sharing these fun little snippets about you, I so enjoyed reading it!

  30. I totally agree with you about social media! I have one, but I have to purposefully remind myself to put my phone away when we're at dinner or something like that so I can remember to talk with Chris. How sad is that! We also try to use the no phones at the dinner table rule!

  33. Yes yes yes yes to the social media. Or phones in general. I hate seeing people bent over them instead of interacting and being alert. It makes me want to randomly trip people or throw things at them. Also- now I'm craving Reese's...

  34. I've never done a confessions post either but I loved reading your tid bits to get to know one of my favorite bloggers better. I used to wear cold shoulder tops all the time, still have one in my closet but I haven't worn it in years. Much prefer the OTS look. I can't believe you still have the red glasses from high school. What a funny memory and keepsake to have! Love the last photo with your fedora and sunglasses...you look just a gorgeous as being dolled up just with a more relaxed, vacation style. Have a lovely week!!

  36. Enjoyable confessions! I do agree with you mostly with social media but I am on FB and so enjoy the connection it allows me with "long lost" friends. Yes, glasses use to cover our whole faces and I do believe they are coming back in style.:o)) I think a lot of folks have stopped couponing but I do love Ebates. Have a great week!

    ReplyDelete
  37. So fun! I seriously want to quit blogging at least once a week - but I would miss out on amazing people like you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yes, you need to join Instagram! I like it better than Facebook- it's more just pretty pictures, silly captions, etc and not political drama and such. I laughed so much when you talked about the Reese's- when I was pregnant with Ari, for some reason, the peanut butter and chocolate combo became a turn off to me, and it took years before I could actually eat and enjoy a Reese's. Thankfully I've recovered! :)

  39. LOL lol LOL lol I love this post, Andrea!! You do look amazing in a fedora and sunglasses, I love wind turbines too, I love the snow and the cold, I don't GET the whole Beyonce thing either, I've thought about quitting blogging too but I know I won't!!
Seriously, great post. I think I might have to borrow this idea for my blog.

  41. I agree 100% about social media, Facebook is just a time sucker, ugh. I agree about the job too, although I really do love where I work, I feel like I'm not using my gifts, I'm a people persona and especially love the elderly....someday I'll be back with them. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. We have a lot of the same "confessions". No cold shoulder tops or dresses, social media has grown into a monster, Reese's are good (Justin's Organic Peanut Butter Cups are better), coupons for the most part are worthless, and is LOL better than lol! The fedora is fabulous...especially with a killer pair of sunnies. Love your blog...would miss you if you didn't visit us. Or do we visit you? hmmm... xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think I look better with sunglasses on too!!! And I've seriously considered quitting Facebook. Not my blog side but my personal side. I don't post a lot but there's so much crud as oppposed to anything real!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm so glad you haven't quit blogging! I enjoy your posts! :) And social media really can have such a negative impact on people.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I agree with coupons! It takes too much time to figure out the deals. And most coupons are for brand name items and store brand is STILL cheaper anyway. Your lol comment is hilarious too. I like the lowercase personally because I feel the same way about being overexcited!
