Welcome
to May friends, the month where everything is green, the promise of summer is
upon us and flowers are planted; turning my deck and porch into a greenhouse of
color. I LOVE planting flowers so I was super excited to join my fellow Blended Blog sisters
for a Spring Time themed blog hop and LINK-UP. You may be headed over here from
Sarah at Foxy's Domestic Side and make sure you head over to
Lisa's Post at Daily Style Finds next for Spring Pretty Florals.

Today's
topic is May Flowers & Pretty Things.
Perfect timing as just Friday my mom and I went on our annual outing to numerous greenhouses to pick out our posies.
Perfect timing as just Friday my mom and I went on our annual outing to numerous greenhouses to pick out our posies.
The picture below is how my deck looks every summer. Supertunia Vista's in Bubblegum pink are my favorite annual flower ever!!
Let's get to the outfit...This darling top is from the Love and Liberty collection at Target. It's only in stores right now but so many cute red, white and blue pieces for Summer and the summer holidays. Plus, Friday called for rain and rain and more rain so I was ready for this April showers with my favorite Hunter's. Now if the rain will just make all my May flowers sprout amazingly!!
Mr. Nine's Ford for hauling all them posies!!
I added my fun new cuff and a hair wrap, a red cross body and since it was chilly, a white lightweight hoodie jacket from Old Navy.
Look how cute Mom looks in her slip ons, red and black utility jacket.
This is Patrick, he is a "helper" at one of the greenhouses we go to. lol
We have such a hard time choosing every year and while we tend towards the same ones that do who well for us, we like to mx it up a bit every year too. Just look at all the choices
Indiana greenhouses get the beautiful hibiscus bushes from Florida, These all had sold signs on them already darn it.
Loading up the truck. I went home and planted 15 containers. Nothing like digging in the dirt! I'll be back with an update when they start to grow and perhaps some green thumb secrets I've learned from my mama over the years.

I LOVE those flowers, your deck is amazing! I wish I could have beautiful flowers like that but between the intense heat and sun along with the deer that eat everything in my yard I am at a loss. And how about that adorable outfit you're in? So cute. And look at your mom, how precious is she?! So much goodness to start a Monday, make it a great one!
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Kellyann

You guys have too much fun together and you are both so cute too!! We got poured on this weekend, so there was no planting going on here. But I really want to get something pretty on the front porch this year and we need to get our garden started too. Maybe next weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are you in your red hunter's. So many beautiful blooms! It's like the world comes alive in May.

I just love all of those beautiful flowers! We did some yard work ourselves this weekend, but I've been looking for new flowers to add to our beds. I might have to add some Supertunia Vistas to our yard!

Wow! You have great genes- your mom is too cute! You've sold me on buying hibiscus plants this year- our neighbors have some and they'd look really pretty by our pool. Hope you have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute look! I planted some flowers, too, and will plant more once our patio is all painted. I love watching everything grow...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!

Holy cow you and your mom look so alike! I'm sure you get that all the time though. So those flowers that bloom on your deck, do you have to plant those every year? Or do they sprout on their own each year? Can't wait to see the update!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sight, what lovely colours you've chosen. Cute outfit too. Jacqui

Well your outfit couldn't have been any more adorable for your flower buying expedition and your mom is just as cute as you are. Can't wait to see your gorgeous flowers all planted. Your deck with all that pink is breathtaking!!!
ReplyDeleteYour adorable outfit, your adorable mother, A CAT! I don't know what I love most about this post but it all makes me smile! I'll have to check out that collection at Target because I always feel at a loss about what to wear for 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteI bet that cat is one spoiled baby getting lots of attention there!
ReplyDeleteYou look too cute to be playing in dirt with that outfit on :)
How fun and I love that you do this with your mom! It's still too cold to plant our annual flowers - I'm hoping by Mother's Day. You and your mom both looked adorable!

It sounds like you and your mom had the perfect day picking out all of the flowers to get you really in the mood for Spring! I'm a huge fan of hibiscus too, so maybe I need to talk to my husband about getting one planted in our yard soon! I hope that your Monday is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are you and your mom?! I love the mix of red white and blue and that's such a pretty top. It looks perfect paired with your hunter boots. Your flowers are gorgeous, I can't wait to start planting some. Fingers crossed that last week was our last dump of snow for the season. Hope you're having a great start to the week!

Beautiful flowers! I love your outfit and your mom's. I try to always have a thin white hoodie because you put it on over anything.
ReplyDeleteAwe, two very pretty ladies!!!! Love that top, I was just at Target and I dont think I saw any of that collection??? I will have to look harder next week when I go. Love all your flowers! I wish I could keep plants alive. Scary they let me have a baby, right? Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun link up and yay for all of the spring flowers!
ReplyDeleteLook at you with all your plants!! My goal every summer is just to keep my three front porch herbs alive (rosemary, basil, and oregano). We travel so much that they tend to get neglected and die from heat/lack of water in the late summer. But this year we won't be traveling as much thanks to Baby Girl! But of course... we'll have a baby... so who knows how keeping them alive will go, haha!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this Andrea!! How cute are you and your Mama!?!? LOVE your top, actually your entire outfit! And I love that you and your Mom do this annually! xo
ReplyDeleteI love that April showers bring May flowers, we are just waiting for the April showers to conclude here. I love getting flowers with my mom too, what a fun tradition to share! xoxo ERIN
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty flowers! Love your rain boots and floral top :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day trip checking out all the blooms with your Ma! Two gorgeous women dressed in style! I love the hibiscus flower and need to spruce up my garden beds a bit since they're mainly all green and no color from flowers.
ReplyDeleteLove that flowy top and all the flowers! I have tulips popping up finally!!
ReplyDeleteSpent Sunday digging in the dirt. Oh, my poor mani!!! Your backporch is gorgeous with those bubble gum pink petunias. I want to get some hanging baskets, too, but with our summer heat, I probably need hanging baskets of cactus. Not the same charm as petunias! You and your mama look adorable.
ReplyDeleteI am loving all the florals!! Yay for May flowers! That top is so cute!

You and your mom are both adorable...and those flowers. I can only dream. I kill living plants. It's sad, but each year I try again so maybe this year is my year!
ReplyDeleteWOW that is your garden?! Those are some gorgeous lavender-pink posies. Love your new red/white/blue floral top and how cute is that striped bow in your hair, it was a great idea to add it. I love how you and mom match in your patriotic colored looks, this time. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to our Ageless Style Linkup party. Cute outfit, cute cat photo. I had to pin both!

You and your mom are so adorable together. Gorgeous flowers...that's a lot of deadheading...I get lax about doing that and it's the best thing for the plants. That's probably why yours looked so fabulous. Are you having all the rain we have had down here in Indy? It's too wet to weed and I swear the weeds fall from the sky along with the rain. xoxo
ReplyDeleteNothing fills my day with more joy than visiting a nursery in spring! Love your top, your mom is so cute, and I love that kitty cat!
ReplyDeleteObsessed with your outfit. I want to recreate it. LOVE my hunter boots too. The flowers are gorgeous! Yay for your mom visiting!
ReplyDeleteYou and your mom are so cute! I love all the flowers! Dying to get some myself but I'm waiting until we move. :)
