Let's Talk Entertainment with Andrea and Erika! Whether Netflix, prime time TV, the lounger movie theater, magazines, books, bloggers, concerts, music; we have a plethora of entertainment these days. Really anything at your fingertips and I happen to LOVE it all!!! I am a child of the 70's, teen of the 80's so you know how different we had it back in the day. As a kid, encyclopedias were my jam!! We had 2 tube TV's with 3 channels, 4 with PBS. No remote, had to get up to change it every.single.time!! Yet, we never complained. Drive in movie theater night and a brown bag of dads home popped popcorn was such a treat and music was on vinyl or 8 track. Things are different now, some say better, sometimes you feel not, but choices abound, that's for sure.

Before I get to some favs of mine and speaking of entertainment, Do head over to my Dear friend, Emily's Blog Simply A Rough Draft where she is interviewing a middle aged crazy woman, lol
Sweet Emily

I told you about my top 3 favorite movies of all time HERE. I could literally make this post a mile long with all the entertaining type things we enjoy, but I won't bore you, instead I'll throw out some of my favorites in various categories. It's a mishmash for sure cause this category had my head spinning.

Way too many books to choose from but one thing I will say, since two are away at college, I am reading much more than the past few years and loving it.
My Favorite Book of all time

Books Turned into Blockbusters
Confession: I LOVE YOUNG ADULT BOOKS, Series especially. After a son got me hooked a few years ago on Twillight, I had to read al the books and see all the movies, Here is the order of my favorites

1. Twilight

 2. The Hunger Games

3. The Maze Runner

4. Divergent...did not like this ending

I LOVE TV, sometimes I feel like current shows are not as good as the ones I loved growing up but there are still plenty of goodies. My husband and I DVR so many shows it's almost full.

Oh Zeke, I miss you!!

Favorite NEW Show of the Season
The whole Fall line up is not out yet, but I think this will be my it show!! It's reminiscent of Parenthood

K, who is with me...a Dancing with the BLOGGERS??!!!! (DWTB) Yeah, I'm in but only if Derek can be my partner.

And when nothing is on HGTV to the Rescue!!

We love Music of all kinds and usually try to go to a concert every summer. This summer, it just never worked out with dates and venues but next summer, we'll give it a whirl
Some fav concerts of the past: Luke Brian, Barry Manilow (yes) and Cole Swindell

I have so many favorite songs and I wrote a post about My Life as a Mixtape but it's hard to narrow down but here ate first few that popped in my head:
Copacabana by Barry Manilow // Don't Stop Believing by Journey // Middle of A Memory by Cole Swindell // Delta Dawn by Tanya Tucker // That's My Job by Conway Twitty // Hey Jealousy by The Gin Blossoms // Died in Your Arms by Cutting Crew // Rocky by Dickie Lee // Hotel California by The Eagles // Dani California by The Red Hot Chili Peppers // Wicked Game by Chris Issak // You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban // Jolene by Dolly Parton // Hit Me Baby One More Time by Britney Spears // Suspicious Minds by Elvis // Da Doo Ron Ron by Shaun Cassidy

my Favorite Comedian ever!

One year for Mr. Nine's birthday we saw a 3-D movie, nope not really 3-D movie fans. Just give me my blanket, candy and the comfy Lounger theater seats and entertain me Hollywood....AND CUT!!

  1. Oh man some seasons of DWTS have been better than others, I don't even know who I'd root for this season! I haven't seen a 3d movie in YEARS, but I'm with you - they just aren't my jam!! What a fun prompt for a post! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. Night is such a hard book to read but so necessary to read! I went to hear Elie Weasel speak at Birmingham Southern one year in college! Love your lists!
    Sarah at MeetTheShaneyfelts

  3. Night is such a heartbreaking but impactful book. Parenthood just makes me happy and like everyone else, I have very high hopes for This is Us.

  4. We love the Goldberg's too, I die laughing everytime I watch! And This is Us was so good last week I know I'm gonna love it too! Kevin Can Wait is hysterical too. So glad the new shows are starting to come out!

  5. I've never been a fan of 3d movies either. Love the Goldberg's and Dancing with the Stars! I've heard so many good things about This is Us, I need to start recording it!

  6. We watched This is Us last night and I loved it! I knew I would. Can you believe Chicago Fire doesn't come back on until next month? Ugh so rude! We watched med and pd yesterday though. They are coming out with Chicago Law in January!!! YAY! I remember having to get up to turn the station when I was younger on TVs. Crazy how far technology has come!

  7. Ditto, ditto, ditto on so much of this post! I had to laugh the minute I read about encyclopedias, no remotes, and record albums. Those were the days! And the Kenny Chesney video - so funny to see him so young and WITH hair! I also love YA books, although I haven't read a good series in awhile. Loved This is Us, and think it will be a new series for the hubby and I to watch together. And no way on 3d movies...they give me a major headache. Have a marvelous Monday, and thanks for such "entertaining" lists.

  8. I have herd that This Is Us, is SO I'm definitely adding it to my DVR this week for sure. I'm always looking for good new tv shows! Hope you had a great weekend, love. Wishing you the best week ahead!

  9. I loved this post! I think it's so fun seeing what other books/movies/shows others are enjoying because I'm always up for suggestions! I'll definitely be checking out "This is Us" because I'm already hearing awesome things! Happy Monday love!

  10. Fun to see your favorites! I love the Twilight (and Harry Potter) books and movies too. My husband and I watched Parenthood, but it was too emotional for me to binge watch like he wanted. I had to quit. Ha!

  11. Such a fun post, Andrea! I have heard so many great things about This Is Us, I really need to check it out. I normally only let myself get hooked on one new show because if I watched everything I wanted to, I would be glued to the TV every night haha! Happy Monday!

  12. Night was such a great book and so heartbreaking. Ok, I totally loved the Twilight books, the movies not so much but I do really love the very first movie. I just watched This is Us the other day, loved it. What a great story. I was not expecting to cry so much nor was I expecting that ending. So looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out.

  13. I finally watched the first episode of This Is Us and did not see the twist coming! I am definitely ready to see where it goes. And the Chicago shows are great too. Especially Fire, I love it! I loved your interview over at Emily's too! So much fun for one Monday morning!

  14. I adore The Goldbergs... so my mom in the 80's
How have I never watched Parenthood?

  15. Love your favorites! Like you I read all the Hunger Games, Twilight, etc. book, as well as Harry Potter! They are all SO good!! I never heard of Parenthood though. I must admit my family and I barely watch TV so, we always we so out of the loop! LOL
    xoxo, Vanessa

  16. I was just saying the same thing about TV to my husband. I loved This Is Us, but that is the only new show that really hooked me. I can't wait to see the characters develop! So good!
The Kenny Chesney song, "The Good Stuff" gets me everytime!
Thanks for the shout out. Hope you have a fantastic Monday!! :)

  17. Love The Goldbergs! My husband says I'm Bev. #iwishicoulddenyit

  18. I wasn't able to catch This Is Us, but after hearing all of the buzz I watched it online...definitely going to be a new favorite and the DVR is already set to record it tomorrow! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Parenthood and miss it SO much...seriously why did they have to end it. :(
I also am not the biggest fan of 3D movies, they give me headaches!

  19. I can't get enough of YA being turned into movies either! My sister got me hooked on Twilight and from then on it's been YA non stop! This Is Us was so good! I can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds! It really reminds me a lot of Parenthood which is one of my favorites too! I hope that you're having a great Monday!

  20. This Is You is such an amazing show!! Love this post!

  21. Love your list! This Is Us is amazing! By everyone's accounts, it seems to be the closest replacement to Parenthood. I really miss the family dynamic of that sweet Braverman family. I wanted to be an honorary member! The Goldbergs are a great show too! I also, dislike 3-D Movies! Thanks for sharing!

  22. I LOVED the first episode of This is Us! I am not a fan of 3-D movies either - they give me a headache. I do love going to the movie theater, though!

  23. Ugh, Parenthood was THE BEST. I want to rewatch that. And I'm loving This Is Us! I hope it stays as good as that first episode was!

  24. I've heard only great things about This is Us! I'll have to check it out.

  25. I've never watched parenthood but it's on my to-watch list on netflix. I hear such great things about it!

  26. I'm dying reading your song list!! We definitely have the same taste in music friend. I'm super excited about This is Us and excited to be joining in from the beginning. I really need to finish out Parenthood just as soon as I finally tie up the Gilmore Girls!! I suck at watching tv!

  27. I have never heard your Mr. and Mrs. Nine song before, it is so sweet! I am just not a big country music person. Your song list is so diverse I love it! Parenthood is my all time fave too, and this is us is great, need to remember to watch this week since I have no DVR. Have a great day!

  28. We have so much in common in regards to entertainment! I love all the books you mentioned, but haven't read your all time favorite, so I think I need to read it. I love DWTS and I always say I want them to have Dancing with the Regular People so I can be on it. lol.

  29. How fun to reminisce on old times! I used to love drive-in theaters so it's sad they are very rare these days. Too funny about Dancing With The Bloggers! You would do fabulous I'm sure! I'd just love to be in the audience.

  30. Anonymous26.9.16

  31. The Goldbergs! My favoritest show on television! I love This Is Us already! You have so many songs that I'm jamming out to regularly - I LOVE old country. Kenny Chesney Me & You - soooo sweet and before he was all wanna be Jimmy Buffet. Forget the 3D give me relaxation not coming straight for my face LOL! Love you to pieces sweetness! Have a good week! xoxoxoxox

  32. The Goldbergs has been on my list forever but I have so many other shows to watch that I'll have to wait. Love all the book series that you love!

  33. I loved The Hunger Games & Divergent series. Although I agree with you about the ending of the Divergent series. What was that?? We read Night when I was in HS & I loved it.

  34. We're not fans of 3-D movies, either! Have a great week! #ThisIsHowWeRoll
