So excited to have my dear friend Shellie from The FABulous Journey
Guest hosting for me today!! Here she is......
I am excited to be guest posting for my sunny little alter ego, Andrea. She’s as blonde as my hair is black, but we are sisters of the smile and I always enjoy seeing her fun take on fashion. We both are also sharing the journey of graduating kids this year and we co-host My Refined Style each month, so we have a lot in common.

Today I am showing you how to wear a bandage skirt over 40.
The bandage skirt is so named because it’s typically worn skin tight like a bandage. However, if I have learned anything about fashion, it’s that you are only limited by your imagination when it comes to clothes.
I like the bandage skirt because it does have a nice stretch, so it’s comfortable to wear. The key to wearing the bandage skirt over 40 is…
• Go up a size (or two) so that it skims your body instead of hugging it.
• Cover the stomach and rear area with a flowing, close-fitting top.
The idea is to adopt the comfortable aspect of the style, while abandoning the cliché night feel often associated with this type of skirt.
I paired my white bandage skirt with a flowing, Jersey tee. Then, I chose two types of shoes that each add a little different feel to the outfit.
Notice, I also wore a little white tee under the black Jersey tee since the arm holes are quite low.
Love the pop of yellow in your outfit Shellie and that skirt - such a great length! xo, biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThanks Biana! We can all use a pop of yellow in our lives ;)
DeleteWhat a great way to style the skirt! I love the idea of it being stretchy and comfortable, but using it in a way that doesn't look like you're going clubbing ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Carlee, isn't it fun to wear pieces of clothing in an unexpected way?!
DeleteBoth outfits are so cute! I love how she added the yellow converse to the outfit to give it a more casual feel!
ReplyDeleteYes, colored converse are really the only kind of tennis shoes I like to wear outside of the gym.
DeleteThanks so much for guest posting, Shellie! And I love the outfit!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura!
DeleteI love the yellow sneakers with this! So cute!

DeleteI've never heard of a bandage skirt before but this outfit looks so comfortable and I'm all about comfort yet stylish outfits.
ReplyDeleteIt's a skirt that young girls typically wear skin tight and A LOT shorter than I did ;)
DeleteI like the yellow with it! Last week I wore a bodycon dress in those colors. Lovely collab, that is such fun!

DeleteGood gravy, woman, you look so snazzy. Those yellow tennies are just as spunky as your great hair and warm smile. Great tips for wearing a bandage skirt (and other skirts, too) for the over 40 crowd.
ReplyDeleteI love how you each have the same dress but paired them in different styles! You both look amazing! Would love if you can link up to http://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2016/07/05/home-decor-tips-designer-look-less/
ReplyDeleteI love this easy look! And you are totally rocking this bandage skirt over 40! I think I need to get some yellow Converse!
