Whoooo needs a nice cup of something warm with comfy clothes on curled up in a warm blanket? I do! After months of mild temps, Winter hit with a vengeance this past week with wind chills below zero! Bring on a little hibernation. Get your cozy on, Happy Friday Favorites and Happy weekend beauties!!
1. Warm Drinks
I'm not really sure what to drink in January besides water! I am and will always be a big water drinker. I feel like hot drinks are more for the Holidays and it's too cold for a chilled cocktail. I do occasionally still sip by beloved Baileys and decaf, but it's not the same. My weekly Starbucks latte doesn't quite feel as festive. This does look mighty good though. And a good cup of tea always makes me happy.

Kohl's turtleneck, Macy's necklace
The Loft Outlet cardigan and necklace, Nordstrom BP tunic, Aldo OTK boots
Anthropolgie top, Target Owl necklace
4. Feathers
I was catching up on some old magazines from last year on an end table and came across this cover of In-Style. Not only is Reese one of my favs but it got me thinking about the cuteness and coziness of feathers. Not sure they would be practical for me but maybe in smaller doses. Need to gather some inspo on how to wear them best.

5. Our Awesome Sons
As you know, our sons are our lives and this was another big week for these guys. We had another birthday in da housed celebrated at Ruth Chris. J is smart, handsome, strong, comical and has such a bright future ahead of him. One thing he has done for years and still does is try to scare the bageebies outta me and he usually always succeeds. Our sneaky, spectacular guy who we love to pieces.
Senior night for the Wrestling Team was this week where the seniors were celebrated with parents for introductions and career boards set up in the gym. I love what wrestling has taught our son and it seems like just yesterday he was a scrappy lightweight and I dreamt of this night. So proud!!!

I need to be on that beach too! I am not a winter gal at all. Yesterday I was in St. Louis for work and it hit sixty with the sun out. I was so happy! Of course today it is supposed to be below freezing again. Boo!
ReplyDeleteOh, girl! What a proud Mama Moment! I've told you before that your sons are so handsome and you're going to make an awesome Friend-In-Law one day! MIL sounds so "old." Anyway...you need to get me on the water train! I'm still hooked on Diet Coke and wine! Love all your weekly outfits -especially the splash of pink to brighten up the day and gloomy weather you guys are having. Let's plan a beach trip soon! I hope you have a warm and cozy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh and about the feathers! I love Reese's dress, but feather fashion reminds me of that awful swan get up some celebrity wore a few years ago to the Oscars, I think. I can't get that picture out of my head! I think it's awesome that we think so much alike (including Reese today in our posts!)!
DeleteThat warm beverage and that setup at the beach in that photo both look fantastic!! The feather skirts are super cute but I feel like I would only wear that skirt for a fun night out.. Love the pictures of your family too. Have a wonderful weekend!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAWWW...congrats on senior night - I know most people have mixed emotions about it. Love all of your outfits, your so stinkin' cute:) :) :) Enjoy the heat today - back to winter by the end of the weekend (ugh!).

I'm in a weird coffee mood too. My new favorite drink at Starbucks was the holiday spice flat white, but now that it's not the holidays I don't think you can order it anymore. Your sons are just darling and congrats on all of their accomplishments (minus the scaring!). You must be so proud!!! xo
ReplyDeleteThat feather skirt/dress is amazing!!!! I love that Zen tea. Have you tried the Wild Orange by that brand? I really enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteCan we talk about how well dressed your sons always are in pictures you share? Clearly you either shop for them or they picked up your good style gene. Hope you have a great weekend!!!
Super cute, Andrea! I love your JC Penny sweater! I need it in my life! Always, love visiting your blog, and I must try out your tea recommendations!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, gorgeous girl!

ReplyDeleteWhen did the temperatures started freezing? It sucks. That rum warm drink sounds amazing. But yeah I love tea and for that matter I love coffee, too, especially in the Winter. And happy belated birthday to your handsome son.
ReplyDeleteMany stylish outfits this week besides the crazy cold weather. Love all your long necklaces and tunic/cardigan sweaters.
Happy Weekend babe!
Sleepy Time and Zen tea are perfect, especially on a day like we are having...cold and wet, it is just pouring here. What a proud momma moment. I so remember our girls' senior nights. Have a fabulous weekend.
ReplyDeleteLoving that Charming Charlie scarf, such a gorgeous color! And loving that buttered rum recipe and those teas, perfect for the colder weather. Happy Friday <3

I am a fan of that sleepy time tea... as if I need any help, ha! Feathers?! You would love fantastic in them!! Super cute!!! Happy birthday to your son! I love that he scares you; my kids know how easy that is to do to me, ha! Have a great weekend, Andrea!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll leave the feathers for the chickens bahahaha. I'm sure you could pull them off but not this bitty. Happy birthday to your son! Way to go on wrestling - my husband was a state champion wrestler wayyy back in the day. You look beautiful as always! Happy weekend! xo Amanda
ReplyDeleteI love that black feathered skirt and the pink dress! Thank you for introducing me to this fabulous style! The birthday boy looks like his Dad. Sounds like you have a lot to be proud about.
ReplyDeleteYou must be so proud of your sons! Love all your outfits. Have a wonderful weekend - stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI had that sleepytime tea for the first time a couple of weeks ago & I loved it. I wasn't sure about it because I'm not a huge hot tea drinker but I approved lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the first outfit - the whole thing - adorable. I also REALLY like the owl necklace with the last outfit!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
Those feather skirts are SO cute. If I had cocktail parties to go to and could pull off a skirt/dress with a feathered bottom I would totally wear one!
ReplyDeleteMy mom just reminded me a couple weeks ago that they used to make hot buttered rum and then they'd make them kid friendly (aka no rum) and call them 'hot buttered nothings' to give to us! Ha! We're celebrating our Christmas this weekend and so she's going to make hot buttered rum for the first time in years and I'll finally get to try it!
I am such a water drinker as well. That hot buttered rum looks delicious. That looks like the perfect spot to get away from winter. I am ready to leave now. Looks like the birthday celebration was a good night. :-)

My goodness, yes on the hot drinks! It seems I constantly have a hot drink in my hand these days--probably because it's just so dang cold! My fav is Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice tea. I could drink it three times a day ... and sometimes, I do!
ReplyDeleteYesss to all of the feather inspiration - I love that! And Reese too of course ;) Happy Birthday to your son, looks like it was such a fun night! Hope you guys had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your boys! I'm sure you're so proud of them, and rightly so. I LOVE that pink feather dress. Now if I only had somewhere to wear it!
