BLUEBERRY CREAM CHEESE SCONES

Now there are scones and then there are scones with chunks of cream cheese tucked in them. Now we're talking!!! Grab handfuls of those luscious at their peak blueberries and you've got the special scones. You know, the ones for company..friends and family over for brunch, impressing the neighbors; that kind of thing!! Serving these warm from the oven on a weekend morning with coffee is a special treat for my family and for me, lol!!
Yum
Sometimes, I like to double this recipe. They keep for up to a week in the fridge and are great heated up slightly.

What you'll need + an egg...I missed it in the photo, lol

CREAM CHEESE BLUEBERRY SCONES
Ingredients
1/3 cup butter, cut into pieces
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup milk
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup fresh blueberries sprinkled with sugar
2 ounces cream cheese, cut into half inch pieces

Glaze of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla

Directions Preheat oven to 400°. Combine butter, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl and cup with a pastry blender or butter nice until crumbly. Stir milk to soften cream cheese and stir in egg until well combined. Stir in cream cheese mixture and the flour mixture and tell a soft dough forms into a ball. Gently push blueberries in the cut pieces of cream cheese pieces into the dough to corporate evenly. Be careful not to crush the berries are mash the cream cheese pieces. Spoon mounds of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet to make eight scones. Took blueberries and cream cheese pieces into the dough is much as possible. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until golden. Mix a little bit of powder sugar, vanilla and milk to drizzle over the warm scones.

Gently blend in the blueberries

  18. Blueberry and cream cheese alone are two of my favorites but I've never tried them blended together in a scone. I'm now convinced you need to start a bakery that ships within the US so we can try all of your marvelous creations! xo
