This bright, cheery Ralph Lauren coat was an Ahhhmazing bargain!! Like 70% off. While I had a self imposed spending freeze for January, this was the one purchase I did make and could actually justify it with both need and price!!
We love to snowshoe and I was super excited the coat even matched my snowshoes and a Coal brand hat I had. I definitely was tickled "pink" at how well the hat went with the coat as I had never worn it before. The boots are Uggs. I couldn't justify the $300 for them so I ended up with them from an eBay win for $60!! They literally looked like they had never been worn.

And did you notice how I accessorized my red Starbucks cup with heart stickers.

Now, here comes the funny part of this post: The Puffy Coat story!! In the last few years, Puffy coats have become more thin and I have started to like them this year, but 10 years ago, they were the fat puffy and my mom and I despised them. On a trip we took to NYC, we ended up on a entire department store floor that was nothing but ladies coats, I mean thousands of them. To get to the more chic coats, we had to go through the dreaded "puffy" section. What happened? My mom got lost in the puffy coats, literally lost, couldn't find me and was trapped in a puffy coat nightmare!!! It took a few minutes for her to realize she could call me on my phone, so I quickly tried to find her and holler her name only to find her amongst the ugliest puffy coats I had ever seen!! We quickly escaped and laughed our heads off! Guess what mom had nightmares about for years? Yep, being trapped in puffy coats!! Dreadful!!
To overcome her fear: she purchased a puffy and look how pretty and chic she is!!
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!
Be careful shopping, you never know when you'll end up in the Puffy Coats!!
xoxo

Love your bright pink coat and that hat!! :-) I pretty much refused to wear a puffy coat too until after I graduated from college. Because I started living here full-time. I was like I want to be warm and I don't care what I look like!! Which is how I still feel to this day!! :-) Have a great day and stay warm!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a funny story!
ReplyDeleteI love your pink puffy coat! Looks great! And so does your mom!
Love it!!!! I have a black Columbia and it is my favorite! xoxoxo Amanda

Your mom is A-dorable and looks so cute in her puffy coat! And I love that magenta color on you, too! You look like something out of a magazine, Andrea! Great pictures! And the story of you and your mom getting lost in the puffy coats is priceless and a great memory! I think I'd have to have a glass of wine after that one! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI love love your pink puffy coat! You are one styling snow bunny!!! I would love a pink coat but I would look ridiculous in one. Your mom is one styling lady!! Like mother like daughter! Love it. My mom is way more stylish than me, it's sort of embarrassing. She is always dressed to the nines and then there is me. haha
ReplyDeleteYour mom is too cute, Andrea! And she looks fabulous! Love this pink puffy coat. I saw it and should have bought it. I'm kicking myself now!!

I literally own nothing but puffy coats...of course mine are all the standard black but you look freaking fantastic in that pink! I also love that yours has a waist tie so it's super figure flattering. You look amazing gorgeous, happy Wednesday! XO -Kim
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about puffy coats! They have some now that don't even look puffy at all but somehow are SUPER warm and toasty. I really love your hat! The roses are so pretty!

Super cute! Totally worth the break from your spending freeze as you can use it forever.
ReplyDeletehahahahaahah I dont know if I would be as brave as your mom and actually put a puffy coat on after nearly getting eaten alive by them! Though she is totally rocking hers, and so are you! I love the bright pink color! I used to hate puffy coats too but really think they are cute now.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty color! I have a white puffy coat that I adore and actually wore it today because it's cold in Florida!

ReplyDeleteI love your coat! Sounds like it was a great bargain. I absolutely love how it coordinates with your hat and your snow shoes! What are the odds of that?!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty in that color! I love your coat and your moms. I do remember when the puffy coats were so huge! Like the Michelin Man. :)

ReplyDeleteLove your puffy coat! What a fantastic color :)
ReplyDeleteBoth of you look adorable and that color is fab on you!! I am dying over the puffy coat story!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, your poor mom! Haha! I'm glad she conquered her fear by wearing a (lighter) puffy jacket! Also, I love the pink here. And your pretty heart sticker on the Sbux cup!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the puffy coats! Winters were very cold where I went to college, and I had a full length, down puffy coat that literally swallowed me whole. It was so ugly, but super warm! You, however, are a vision of georgeousness in this coat. The color is perfect. Your mama is pretty adorable too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bright colorful jacket, I'm sure you are so easy to spot in the snow. I've never snowshoed but it looked so much fun! I would love for you to stop by my new weekly Weekend Wear Friday linkup and share your lovely style.

Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. I think that it is important to get these puffer coats in colors different than white o it does not look like bed stuff. Pink is perfect!

Love the colour of your puffy coat! They definitely seem to have got better over the years and are no where near as bad as they use to be. Good find on eBay - love those boots! Thank you for joining us at #BloggerClubUK hope to see you again next week X
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun story hahhaaa. Looks like your mom doesn't have the fear of puffy coats anymore since she bought one and looks great in hers. I have a puffy coat or two and mine are more the thicker ones. Since all coats are on sale now, I should invest on a thinner version. Your fuchsia coat is gorgeous and matches that beautiful beanie. Definitely worth spending money for despite a shopping freeze.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with me last week! Sorry for the delayed comment, I'll be pinning this to the linkup board!
